This is an intense chapter today guys and I'm keen to read what you think about it!

I feel like I need to remind people that this is the first draft of this book so yeah there are mistakes but I'm gonna go back and edit once it's finished so all the plot holes disappear haha.

ALSO I wrote the epilogue the other day 😢 we're a bit off from finishing though, I just wanted it written so it's really good!

Enjoy guys! Don't forget to vote! Love you all xxx

"Dr Ross, it's good to see you!" I cried a little too loudly, feigning enthusiasm as I invited him in.

He was wearing a smile and carrying a card board carry tray with two coffees in it.

Shit shit shit shit.

"God, look at me," I laughed, looking down at my pyjamas, "I'm just gonna change, make yourself comfortable."

I tried not to walk away too quickly from him but I'm fairly sure I failed.

Once in my room, I threw my hands into my hair.

"What am I going to do!?" I whispered, spinning about the room to try and find something else to put on.

I settled with a pair of jeans and a tshirt and shoved my limbs through like a crazy monkey.

Mason. I needed to tell Mason.

I grabbed my phone off my bedside table and texted him quickly and full of typos.

'Mason,

Bross is here. Stay awak'

Just as I was about to join Ross back in the lounge room, I had a thought. What if I could get the answer out of him now and settle this whole ordeal?

I turned on the voice recorder app on my phone and shoved it into my pocket before straightening my hair and walking out to join him.

"Sorry, I wasn't expecting anyone." I laughed, avoiding his gaze and coyly walking over to where he was standing with the coffee.

"No that's okay, it's early, I should've called." He grinned, passing me a cup. "I guessed Cappuccino,"

"Yeah, thank you," I smiled a tight lipped smile up at him and gestured towards the couch.

Every time I was out of his gaze my face would fall back into the panicked state I was feeling. I didn't even want to know how he got the address to my flat...

"So, what brings you here?" I asked, sipping my coffee as I sat cross legged on the couch.

"Well, I remembered how you said and you and ... Mark, was it?"

"Mason," I gritted out with a smile.

"Right, well I remembered how you said you two had broken up and I thought I'd come check on you." He rested his hand on my knee and I almost felt my eyes go cross eyed in the rage I was holding back.

"Oh, well yeah I'm okay," I added a sniff for good measure, I tell you, with all this lying I may as well change my name to Priscilla, buy a mustang, adopt a Texan accent and move to America because I'm becoming a new person.

"Really?" He looked relieved. Why? I ain't your woman. "Cause I'd love to take you out sometime,"

Just then, there was a vigorous pounding on the door. Ross looked at me, concern in his features.

I got up and opened the door, sure enough there stood a glowering Mason.

"Took you long enough," he snapped, pushing through and walking into the apartment.

What the hell?

"Mason, what are you-"

"What am I doing here?" He asked, his eyebrows raised in a condescending manner. Forget the surprise of Doctor Ross I'm currently freaking out about Mason!

"I came to get my stuff that you keep holding onto, I'm surprised you haven't sold it."

He looked into the living room to see Ross and smirked.

"Wow, Ashley. So you move on to what we argued every night about." He stepped slowly over to a now standing Ross who didn't seem to be as intimated as he should be.

"I knew you liked him," he sneered slowly his voice filled with venom.

"I think you should collect your things and leave." Ross was very calm with his words, gesturing over to our room, a polite smile on his face.

They levelled up against each other, falling through time a few million years to the cave man era where the boys determined 'who is man, I am man with my club and my fish and my cave'.

Mason smirked once more in Ross's face before making his way over to our room.

"I'm so sorry about that," I muttered, making my way back to the couch.

"I'm fine, are you?" He asked, pushing some hair behind my ear and I had to hold back a cringe. It was so strange having another man touch me, even if it was in a sweet way. It felt creepy and yuck.

"Yeah of course, actually I'm going to just make sure he doesn't take anything of mine."

I jumped from the couch and padded over to our room, closing the door behind me.

"I told you not to come," I whispered angrily, tiptoeing over and running my fingers down his back.

"I got your text just as I got in the lift," he grabbed a bag and shoved it full of some clothes and junk as to be convincing. "I don't want to leave you with him." He returned in a hushed tone, cupping my jaw.

"I'll be fine," I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. "You need to stop harassing me! You don't live here anymore!" I yelled making Mason jump.

"Yeah, well you can't keep all of my stuff!" He replied, storming to the door and wrenching it open.

"I can do whatever I want! You cheated on me with my best friend! You've ruined my life!"

Ross was standing by the couch like a stunned fish.

"She was better than you! I'm not sorry!" Continued Mason, I felt a pang in my stomach and I had to remind myself that this was fake.

Ross jumped in at this stage.

"Get out, Murphy, otherwise I'll call the building security."

Mason bit his bottom lip as though he were trying not to laugh.

This was not mean to happen like this! I had a plan, goddamnit!

"Goodluck sweetheart," sneered Mason, leaving Ross and I for hopefully a short period of time.

There was silence in the apartment which luckily gave me a few seconds to think about my next moves.

I held my head in my hands as I sank into the couch. What the hell do I do from here?

"I can't believe you had to live with that," muttered Ross as he sat down next to me, "at least once he's expelled you won't have to see him around campus,"

I snapped my head up to stare at him. This could be my chance.

"He's getting expelled?" I gasped, real shock covering my face from how easy this could be.

"Yes... he didn't tell you?" The corner of his lip turned up. He was enjoying this, of course he was, this was him telling me the my boyfriend is an asshole. Joke's on you sucker.

"No, he didn't. What are you talking about?"

"Well, if you were wanting to get revenge on him for cheating on you, feel free to revel in my success," he drank from his coffee, a smug grin sneaking its way through.

"What happened? He didn't hurt you did he?"

I sat on the edge of the seat hoping that he wasn't very good at reading when someone's lying.

"No, but I made the Dean think that," He winked, "no he didn't hurt me but he said a few choice words after I provoked him to, then he went off and punched a brick wall or something - which helped me convince the Dean he physically abused me once he saw his hands. That kid has no management of his emotions."

"So you provoked him into insulting you and then made the Dean think he beat you up?" I questioned, making a show of innocence.

"Yes and now I'm certain the Dean is going to expel him in our meeting in three days time." He snickered, finishing his coffee.

"Well, I'm sure the Dean will be very interested to hear that." I stood, taking my phone out of my back pocket to turn off the recording. I stared down at him. "You didn't really think that Mason would cheat on me did you?"

With that, the front door swung open and in walked a smug and pleased Mason. He draped his arm over my shoulder causally.

Ross was blank faced and pale as a sheet.

"Wha- what are you talking about?" He spluttered out, his eyes flitting between us.

"I recorded this whole conversation and you better believe that I'm taking it to the Dean to show that you're a fraud."

Ross jumped up abruptly, his face turning red with fury. Mason pushes me a back slightly so i was behind his shoulder.

"You bitch." He spat at me, advancing towards us.

"You better leave before I call the building security." Mimicked Mason.

I could feel the anger palpitating from Ross as his face grew shade after shade of red. He clenched his fists at his sides repeatedly before storming off, slamming the door behind him.

Lucas is gone and now Ross is gone!! Woohooo!!!
