Chapter 58 Pay if You Want to Stare
As Milly was about to say something, her view was suddenly obstructed by something, followed by a shout âWhat are you all staring at? If you keep staring, Iâm going to charge you for the view!â
It was Anthony.
Upon entering the classroom, he immediately noticed the predatory gazes from the group of students, causing his expression to darken.
I havenât had my fill of looking at my own sister, and yet they dare to be so bold in my presence. Do they think Iâm oblivious?
While his approach may not have been ideal, it did have an impact. The brazen stares directed at her significantly decreased in response to his warning.
Just as Milly was about to exhale a sigh of relief, William stood up with a smile and pulled out 30 dollars from his pocket. âUm, can I stare for 30 bucks?â
Witnessing his initiative, many boys in the class began to reach for their wallets.
âIâll pay 45 dollars to stare!â
âIâll pay 20 bucks!â
âIâll outdo them all; Iâll pay 75 bucks to stare!â
Milly: ââ¦â
Anthony:â¦â
Do they think this is a zoo?
âIn five minutes, I will collect the physics test papers. Iâll submit the list of people who havenât finished to the teacher,â Milly announced, playing her trump card.
The physics teacher was known for being strict and eccentric.
Since the change in homeroom teachers, Milly has earned significant trust, serving as both a class monitor and a physics class representative.
Had she not stood her ground, the new homeroom teacher likely would have sought to give her a few more roles.
Indeed, her words proved more effective than any threat. The boys, who had been sneakily glancing at her, promptly redirected their focus to diligently completing the test papers.
Finally, Milly could breathe a sigh of relief, and the classroom fell silent once more.
However, her respite was shortâlived, as a loud voice at the door interrupted her peace. âWhich one of you is Milly?â
The individual who entered was a tall boy in a basketball uniform, nearly brushing against the door frame with his height. His brows were furrowed, exuding a fierce and impatient air, and he had a handsome face

aura.
As Milly prepared to rise, William, who was beside her, intervened. âWait, this guy is a sports student from the freshman basketball team. Heâs a troublemaker; donât act hastily.â
Raising an eyebrow, Milly inquired. âDo you know him?â
Iâve crossed paths with him during basketball games. Heâs not one to trifle with. He constantly stirs up trouble because his familyâs rich, and he often resorts to brute force rather than reason. Iâve heard he even
spe
time in juvenile detention.â
Observing the manâs demeanour, Milly could discern that he looked like bad news.
In that moment. William fearlessly stood up in the face of the menacing gaze, exuding a hint of a hero- Winâtheâdamsel vibe.
âYouâre Ken Fitzgerald, right? What business do you have with my boss?â
Ken narrowed his eyes and intensified his glare. He scrutinised William, who had risen, while arching an eyebrow, âIs your boss that ugly duckling, Milly?â
Widening his eyes, William rolled up his sleeves angrily. âSay that again, and Iâll make you pray youâd
never said that!â
Speechless, Milly pondered how this individual, who couldnât even come up with a menacing threat. managed to maintain second place in the class.
Unfazed, Ken bounced the ball on the ground, producing rhythmic thuds, all while keeping his gaze fixed on William. âSo what if I insulted her? Milly, that ugly duckling, had the audacity to usurp my sisterâs role. I must teach you all a lesson today!â
With that declaration, he forcefully hurled the ball at William.
William was already prepared when the ball came flying towards him. He reached out and caught it firmly in his hand. Then, with a grin, he somehow produced a pair of scissors and ruthlessly stabbed them into the basketball.
In an instant, the brown basketball was punctured by the sharp scissors, and the gas rushed out as the ball slowly deflated.
âYou son of a b*tch!â Ken was completely stunned. Williamâs actions were too fast, and he didnât have time to react and stop him.
After he realised what had happened, his eyes turned red with anger, and he glared fiercely at William with bared teeth. He wished he could tear William apart on the spot. âThat basketball was personally signed by my idol, and you destroyed it!â
William put away the scissors and threw the deflated basketball back at Ken. His aim was spot on, and it landed right at Kenâs feet.
âI destroyed it, so what? If you have the guts, come and hit melâ His tone was asking for a beating
Kenâs chest heaved with anger, but he knew that if he hit him here, it would definitely alert the teacher. Although he wasnât afraid of the teacher, he couldnât stand the thought of his dad freezing his card again after the teacher called to complain.

Clutching his fists, he pointed at William as he used the last bit of reason to restrain himself from acting impulsively. âFine. Youâd better not regret it. If youâre looking for a fight, Iâll grant your wish!
âIf you dare, tell me your name. Meet me in the small grove behind the west field after school, and see how I will make you cry for mercy!â
As a sports student, Ken was always training outside of school. Plus, he was a freshman and had little interaction with seniors like William, so he didnât recognise him at all.
Seeing Kenâs fierce expression, Milly pursed her lips, looking worriedly at William.
Although his actions just now were indeed asking for trouble, he did it for her. She couldnât bear the thought of him getting beaten up because of her.
Before she could speak, William crossed his arms and tilted his head without a glint of fear as he said with a look of defiance, âI will not change my name or my seat. I am Anthony Burnett from Class 3A. If you have the guts, come and hit me!â
Milly: ââ¦â
Anthony, who was silently doing his homework, was speechless as well.
Gritting his teeth, Ken pointed at William fiercely with his finger and hissed, âAll right, Anthony. I admire your guts. Iâll wait for you after school. Whoever doesnât come is a coward!â
William shouted loudly, âAll right. I will definitely go and get beaten up. If I donât show up, Iâll be struck by lightning!â
âAll right!â
Seeing the bell about to ring for class, Ken knew what to do. He turned around with his underlings and left after giving William a fierce look.
Seeing them leave, William immediately wagged his tail and approached Milly for praise. âBoss, what do you think of this trick of mine I pulled? I not only helped you drive away the troublemakers but also taught that blind Anthony a lesson. Two birds with one stone!â
Milly rubbed her sore forehead, unable to find the words to praise him for his feats.
She turned to look at Anthony, who happened to look up at her and say, âMilly, donât worry. I will handle
it.â
Even if William hadnât stepped in just now, he would have stood up. He wanted to protect his sister, not just talk about it.
