While arguing why the "Ways of love" was a trash novel, Guren received a message

ekUnAmI: Yes, I would. It's just that shitty. I mean what's up with these fantasy harem novels??? They're all the same. Do we need more? It's all just a bunch girls and an op protagonist going on a journey together.

Suddenly Guren's laptop felt extremely hot, burning his skin

"-what the hell!"

Before he could escape, it exploded and killed him!

Thankfully, for some reason, he didn't feel much pain from it.

He slowly opens his eyes to let himself adjust to the light. He was in a lavish room, with intricate wood designs in the ceilings. In the middle of that room was a giant king sized bed

And there seemed to be a man laying down?

'....you telling me I died and went to another world, just to be someone else's fucking servant???'

'Oh come on, at least let me be a baron or something! I died for this!'

Guren curses at the system

Giving up, he decides to look at the sorroundings a bit more.

'....Shin?'

That was when it struck him.

'calm down, calm down' Guren tried to convince himself

Because of the shock, he was easily irritated right now.

Taking a deep breath, he went to Shin's bed.

'Acting skills, don't fail me now. Make that one class I took be worth it'

He knocked on the bedside drawer.

"Master, please wake up, it's time for school"

"Young Master? Please wake up or you'll be late"

'how am I supposed to wake him up???'

'Wasn't the protagonist in this world supposed to be kind, patient, humble and all the kind of crap?'

"....Master's friend Miss Aria is in the hall waiting. Since you don't feel well, I'll tell Miss Aria that you can't accompany her today"

Guren smiles, annoyed by the protagonist's personality

"Tell me sooner" Shin says coldy

'Patience Guren, or you'll die. Patience.'

"Tell Aria I'll be there in a bit. Hurry up"

"Yes, Master"

Guren bows and leaves the room.

'...I was just guessing that Aria came. Where even am I??? I'll have go prepare an excuse if Aria is a no show.'

He stared at the at the scenery outside, trying to organize his thoughts, planning what the next best thing to do is.

'...this timeline. It's not the same from the novel. Even Shin's personality is different. The message before said having "influence" to the novel. Was it not simply moving to the world of it?'

The original Shin was supposed to be caring ever since he was a child.

'unless this wasn't the exact same world as the novel? It would make sense. I need to know more before taking action.'

The title "Matchmaker" was bugging Guren. It probably meant that he had to help the Protagonist win over the harem.

'But with his personality, it won't exactly be easy. Why system, why???' he sighed

Suddenly, the door Guren went out of burst open, with Shin walking towards him.

"Where's Aria now?" Shin asks without looking at Guren

"In the usual hall, Master" he replies hoping he knows the way

Shin throws a bag at him, guessing that it was for school.

None of them spoke, and Guren just follows Shin.

'*internally crying* please be there Aria you're my only hope'

He couldn't make Shin's impression of him worse

They arrive at the hall near the entrance, seeing a female figure no far away

'thank you Aria! (人*'∀｀)｡*ﾟ+'

He was grateful to a harem member appearing for once

Guren noted to himself the path to the entrance

"Hey Aria!" Shin greets enthusiastically

'uwaah... Is the the protagonist in this version bipolar or something'

The girl Aria, had long blonde hair, and pastel pink eyes

While Shin had icy blue colored hair, and silver eyes. Another thing noticeable about him was the mole near the corner of his eye.

Both of them chatted for while Guren waited patiently on the sidelines

"Oh my, we have to get going. We might be late!" Aria says

"Then let's go already!" Shin then held her hand while Aria blushes a little from the unexpected act

'ah, so this is how it feels to be a third-wheel'

'....oh god I'm probably gonna have to be like this a lot in the future' The brooding Guren thought to himself

He followed them and put Shin's bag beside him and bid them farewell

"Master Shin, Miss Aria, have a safe trip"

Followed by a bow.

Shin just nodded and they went on their way.

As he went inside again, he was deep in his thoughts

'Maybe not everything has changed. Judging by their appearances, they shouldn't be far from the start of the novel. Its official beginning was when they turned 16. That's when they go to Orion to learn more advanced magic. I still have about a year.'

"It'll be fine" Guren comforted himself
