Alex has been treated quite highly before by her peers, which meant she had quite the ego.
This loss hurted her pride. Especially when she realized her enemy didn't even take her that seriously, and now he was taunting her.
When she went back, Aria tried comforting her. But it was like adding salt to her wound at that point.
She slapped Aria's hand away
"Don't talk to me"
Aria was surprised
"She's so ungrateful sometimes" Shin commented
"Maybe she's still adjusting. She hasn't even been here long" Aria replied
"Are you ready?"
"Whoever wins or loses, no hard feelings"
Aria laughed, "haha, I'll try my best then"

When Ren was getting ready to go in front, her opponent opened her case which had about 6 explosives filled with mana.
'is she trying to kill someone with that?!?'
Ren shivered
Not only did he not have a battle outfit, all he had was a dagger that was borrowed from Shin.
'The novel could've explained the this part of the battles a little more in detail. I thought it would be fucking simple hand to hand combat!' ರââ®à²°
Then again, this was before the novel started. They definitely wouldn't explain much on this side during flashbacks.
Roselita put the explosives in her satchel while her pistols were on his waist.
Her outfit didn't seem that different from normal, it just looked shorter.
"Begin!"
Roselita quickly grabbed her pistols and began to shoot at Ren.
Ren held his dagger tightly ran around the battlefield. Unfortunately, there was nowhere to hide.
No matter where Ren ran, the bullets followed.
1 hit.
Thankfully, the body he was in was pretty good at anything physical. With it, Ren managed to avoid most of the bullets.
'Master said she'll let me hug her if I win... And this man is in the way!' Roselita thought
She put back one of her pistols and grabbed two mana bombs.
"This is all for master!"
When the bombs were midair, Ren went on the opposite side. But, he was still caught in one of the explosions.
2 hits.
"Are you trying to kill me?!?"
Roselita immediately started shooting at him again.
'this can't go on, or I'll definitely lose. I have to close the distance'
His life was on the line, and he'll do what it takes to live

That's when he thought of something.
"For someone who has way more options than her opponent, who only has a dagger, you've only managed to hit me twice. What's up with that?" Ren sneered
Sherry just sighed seeing this

For someone to be this cocky when they haven't even been here for a month!
Roselita threw mana bombs again and again, until there was none left. Soon, the battlefield was filled with smoke.

Holding this dagger, dodging the bombs. It felt like he's done this many times before.
'who exactly was Ren Civan?'
Because of the smoke, Roselita couldn't see well. And so she blindly kept shooting at her sorroundings.
Ren threw his jacket midair and sprinted towards the other direction and saw Roselita's figure who was once again shooting.
3 hits.
'fuck!'
He threw the dagger without hesitation and ran again.
When Roselita shot at a dark figure, he thought it was Ren. But when the smoke cleared up, it was nothing but a jacket.
"!"
When she turned a dagger was being thrown at her. Dropping one of her pistols, she was able to grab it.
1 hit.
"What?"
The dagger became a sword which allowed it to stab her stomach.
Just then, behind her, she heard someone running.
She turned around and pulled the trigger, but the figure easily dodged it.
As Ren dodged, he quickly grabbed the sword and kicked Roselita in the ankles, making her whole body fall down.
2 hits.
"-ah!" She still couldn't process what had happened in a mere few seconds.
Before she could use her pistol, Ren stabbed her hand.
3 hits.
Now they were even.
"You're not going anywhere."
Ren was annoyed. He was glared at un the beginning, had to dodge all those bombs and was bombarded with bullets by this person when his life was on the line. Just for a hug???
He grabbed her other pistol and shot her.
4 hits.
But then, Roselita managed to escape by kicking Ren.
"!"
4 hits.
Before she could run far, Ren shot her on the head and Roselita fell down.
5 hits.
"As I said, you're not going anywhere!"
"Ren Civan is the winner!" A professor shouted.
He decided to help her up, because it was proper etiquette during these types of thing, but Roselita refused. Ren didn't push it, he didn't want to do it either.
"Wasn't he a bit too harsh of her?" Someone murmured.
"The poor girl, he could've been a bit easier on her..."
"It's obvious that he's stronger, he didn't have to do that"
Then it was followed by others saying similar things.
'you try having manners when your life is on the fucking line you piece of shits'
Ren was annoyed. Guess the stress these past few weeks caught up to him.
But before he could say anything, a professor stood up and shouted at them.
"Tell me! During a real battle, would you rather be good to your opponent and let them have a chance at killing your master!?"
"Looking down on someone based ob appearance will give the enemy an opening. Did you forget everything we taught you?" another professor chimed in
The other servants also agreed to this. Only those on the left side of the bleachers that started that discussion was silent.
'ahh at least the professors are on my side!' (人*'âï½)｡*ï¾+
Ren bowed towards them and thanked them. Then he asked for permission to go out and help his Master.
Sherry came up to him to congratulate him
"Haha I have to thank Shin for letting ne borrow his dagger"
"...hm, this is the first time I heard you call him just by his name"
"Ah...It slip sometimes"
"Let's go together to find the others"
"Sorry, I still have to change and take a break"
Because of the bombs, his waistcoat and white shirt became really dusty. And even his jacket wasn't wearable anymore.
'And I can't exactly help Shin if you're around me'
"Ah, you're right. Then I'll go ahead then"
When Sherry was gone, Ren quickly went to the bathroom, changed his clothes, drank some water, and freshened up a bit to look a bit presentable.
He grabbed his bag and went in the direction of the Noble's Arena. He was a bit tired so he just walked in a fast pace.
"System, can I enchant tons of bullets at the same time?"

Ren sighed
"Was the original Ren really just a servant?"

"Really? Then why could he-"

On this rare occasion, the system was beinf reasonable. Something really might happen there and put Shin in danger.
"Fine. I know what's more important"
Thankfully no one was around due to the battles goin on, or else they'd think Ren was talking himself.
