Chapter 869 In the Club
âCongratulations, Miss Swann!â Branden was all smiles when he looked at the breathtakingly beautiful girl. Luckily, she belonged to him.
Catherine met Branden, who had been waiting for her for a while, at the entrance. She was stunned when he called her âMiss Swann.â But then, she smiled gracefully at him. â
Congratulations to you too, my dear boyfriend,â she said. Branden was more than happy to hear that. He proudly held her hand. âCome on, letâs celebrate!â
Branden intended to have some alone time with Catherine over dinner and let her relax. But Zobber called on their way to the restaurant and asked to join them for the celebration.
After discussion, they decided to have dinner first and then have a gathering in a club with everybody. Zobber and others were all in favor of this plan.
âLetâs go!â Branden stepped on the gas at Catherineâs words.
They quickly finished their dinner so they could go to the club earlier. But still, they were the last to arrive. Zobber invited Audrey. The atmosphere in the box was high with them gathered together. Only one was missing.
Zobber raised her glass for a toast. She stood on the chair and yelled. âTo Catherine!â
Catherine smiled and raised her glass. She took a picture of them clinking glasses.
Zobber was the first one to notice. She exclaimed, âCatherine, itâs rare to see you taking a picture! Are you going to post it on your Facebook?â
Catherine was not a social person. She barely talked to others if it was not for her job or tasks. All of her social media profiles were a white picture, which revealed nothing about her. So Zobber was quite surprised to see Catherine take a picture.
Catherine only grinned. âIâm not gonna post it anywhere. Just for memory.â
She then swiftly sent the picture to someone and deleted the history. No one knew who it was.
Zobber could only stop asking. She quickly immersed herself in the lively atmosphere.
Compared to Zobber, Catherine was much quieter.
Audrey approached Catherine when Catherine sat back. âCassie, congratulations! I donât know about science, but I heard your experiment is tough. Itâs so amazing that you could make it.â Audrey felt happy and proud of Catherine.
Catherine grinned. She only showed her tenderness and smiles to her family and friends. âItâs not done yet. The experiment has only been certified now.
Although Audrey didnât understand what Catherine meant, she felt happy for her. âIâm so happy today. I have to use the bathroom. Iâve drunk too much.
Zobber returned from the bathroom. She looked around and did not find Audrey in the room. She could not help but say, âGuess who I ran into in the hallway?â
âSpider man?â Withal joked.
Zobber grabbed an orange and threw it at him. âScrew you! I saw Triston in the next room.â
âWhatâs the big deal? He has been in Loxton lately. And there are only two famous clubs in Loxton. Itâs only normal to see him here.â Although Withal was not close to Triston, he heard about his reputation. He heard that Triston only restrained himself during the relationship with Audrey. So it was not a big deal to see him in a club.
Zobber glared at him. âWill you hear me out? I was going to tell you guys what I saw in his box. There were all pretty girls in short skirts, apart from several men. He has become his old self.
Zobber couldnât help but quiver at the mention of what she saw, which was unacceptable to her.
âI thought Triston is pursuing Audrey? Why does he linger in the clubs? Heâs going to wreck himself within three years if he doesnât stop,â said Zobber. Then she realized everyone was giving her a weird gaze, and no one responded to her.
She was confused. âWhy are you looking at me like that?â Following their gaze, Zobber turned around and found Audrey standing there. Zobber was so embarrassed that she didnât know where to look.
All she knew was she was in big trouble. She was too excited to notice Audreyâs return. No wonder Withal tipped her a wink. Too bad she didnât get it. â
Audrey, Iâm so sorry. Iâ¦.â
Audrey stopped her. âItâs okay. You donât have to tell me anything unrelated to me in the future,â she said.
Zobber felt so frustrated. She thought she must have upset Audrey.
However, Catherine observed the sorrow in Audreyâs eyes even though she tried to look frosty. âAudrey is a faithful lover. If she is in a relationship with Brian, she would not be so sad at mentioning another man. Something must be wrong, thought Catherine. But she didnât say anything. Instead, she wanted to discover the truth before talking to Audrey.
Zobber made an excuse and got out. She felt bad for what she said. Paxton followed her out and found her standing in the hallway, looking frustrated.
He handed her gums. Ever since Branden quit smoking, he did, too. He kept some gums in his pocket just in case.
Zobber did not take it. She was in a bad mood. âWhat if they break up because of me? They are already in a bad relationship now.â
This was her biggest concern. She didnât want to be the reason why they couldnât get back together.
