After the final conclusion between Sierra and Jack, Jack entered his car to go back to the airport to catch the latest flight back to the country.

He knew his enemies were waiting and now, he was in all energy to face them with all his leftover powers.

But on the other hand, Sierra and Charles saw Jack leaving them in his car. As they both stood on their feet, their gaze met each other at the same time. “I think we should go now as well.”

“Hmm..” Sierra didn’t protect when pulled Noah’s hand along with her.

Surprisingly, Ailey didn’t leave Charles’s hand since the moment Jack handed it over to him. Ailey could feel her heart being torn from the episode of Jack leaving them. But she could never deny that Charles’ warmness brought unexpected emotions which made her hold back all the cries.

The family of four walked back into Charles’s car where he made Noah and Ailey sit in the back seat. Sierra took the front passenger seat and Charles had taken control of the driving seat.

While Sierra was tying the seatbelt, she said, “Children and I will not go to your mansion at this moment.” she announced and this didn’t take Charles by surprise.

His lips twisted at the words but he did mutter,”I know you will not be comfortable and neither am I bringing you all there.”

“Then where are we going?” Sierra can’t help but ask. She has work to do under Javier’s business as well. It was the bread and butter for her, the only source of livelihood.

Even though she was now more or less dependent on Charles, Sierra wishes to keep the things between them slow.

It will be better for her..as well as for the kids..

Charles drove the car from downtown towards where Javier’s company was situated. Sierra couldn’t help but raise the questions, “Is there a place for me?”

“There is a new apartment for you and the kids near your workplace. There is more security there, regular guards and facilities that will not let anyone enter the premises so easily. It will be an easy task to safeguard children.”

“Moreover, children will alway have guards with them. They won’t see them openly but they will be. They will be with you too. So don’t worry about being discomforted by the presence of an unknown person, they will protect you in the dark.”

Sierra’s eyes remained unmoved from Charles’s face when she heard how protective he sounded to her. It wasn’t entirely because of her, but also for the kids.

At this behavior, she let out a sigh, ‘And I thought his possessiveness has vanished into thin air.. Guess who was wrong...’

Sierra didn’t dare to say this on his face. She passed a nod as their car ride was filled with silence.

From time to time, Charles kept on gazing at the children who were in the backseat. He knew that everything must be new for them and neither did he try to force the situations on their face. It was better to be accustomed on their behalf.

But in the middle of their way, it was Sierra who moved their head. She looked at Charles with her curious eyes while confirming, “Where is Javier nowadays? I haven’t seen him in the company.”

“He will be back...after he winds up the most important work of his life.”

In the other states, Jennifer was sitting inside the room. It has been two days since she landed herself in the base of Johnsons. But within the past two days, she hasn’t seen Javier’s face even once.

He was a blue moon that never rose in her eyes. In fact,he had maintained total distance from him which was eating her alive.

From time to time, her meals arrived. Either it was Ellen or the servants. Her appetite gradually decreased in the early times as she pestered to view Javier and have conversation with him.

But it was due to Ellen who made her understand that Javier wasn’t in the condition to meet her. He needed some time alone and she didn’t objectify what he meant.

The rumor of Javier’s first born has circulated among their confidentials and they all believed Javier to be in isolation mode so that he could hold himself from venting his anger on an unnecessary person.

But on the third day, she noted that it was Ellen who pushed the door.

Jennifer was sitting on the bed with her hands wrapped around her knees. She immediately lifted her eyes to match with Ellen’s s. “Any reason to be here?”

“I brought you dinner.” Ellen pushed the food in her plate but Jennifer sensed something strange from him, “Are you here entirely because of food?”

“Well...” Ellen closed the door lightly without making a sound. He turned his face to gaze back at Jennifer, who has lost much of her appearance now. “I think you should know about what Javier is planning to do.”

Jennifer keenly listened to his words when Ellen took a deep breath to reveal, “Javier... has Lucas under his wings now.”

Hearing this, Jennifer’s eyes widened as saucers. She couldn’t define if her breath was struck because of the shock or fear. “B-But how did he get him?”

“It was Lucas’s half brother who helped us with this. He was actually kidnapped by us when Lucas was going back to his home after getting bailed.” Ellen’s honest words struck something in Jennifer’s brain.

She understood the games well now. It was all because Jack was involved with Javier to help him achieve and maintain the peace. After all, Jack has snatched the major shareholder power from Lucas and Smiths.

Jennifer’s eyes flashed the killing intent when she clutched her fingers, “Why are you telling me about this?” She knew that Ellen’s coming here wouldn’t be entirely to tell her that Lucas was here. “Because I believe that Javier will lose his mind if he goes to see Lucas alone. I think you should be there too and help yourself to receive maximum information.”

“What kind of information can I get from him?” Jennifer passed Ellen the look to know when Ellen’s reminded her with a straight face, “Why was he willing to marry you so crazily?”

“Because there is one more suspicious thing, Jennifer.”

Ellen’s words caused Jennifer’s heartbeat to trace. She could feel her stomach churning as an ominous feeling surrounded her head.

“W-what is it?”

“Your parents are missing now.”
