Chapter 49: Chapter 49 Unthoughtful Death

Lucifer Zades P.O.V

My non-biological dad took his vice grip away from Valentine’s and stomped towards Kyle trying to pry the gun away from his hold. Kyle held his gun at the back of him.

“Step away dad.” He warned, a slight frown latched onto his lips as he gritted out each word.

“You don’t have to do this, he’s part of her.” He mentioned looking down.

“Part of who ? Mother ? She wasn’t really my mom so why the fuck should I care. You fucked up a random bitch and I was found in your doorstep! You met in an accident and hurt yourself! Nothing is my fault! Why is he so special just because he has the blood of your lover ?”

He raised the gun up in the sky and pulled the trigger, few birds flew away from the tress and that was a signal that the great war has begun.

War between werewolves and hunters.

But then,

Nothing happened.

Kyle turned behind.

“Attack now.” He ordered but none of the hunters made a move.

He went near one of the hunter known as Benjamin. He pushed him on his chest. “Go on, I command all of you.”

Benjamin took several steps back but he didn’t make a move to even pull out the gun.

“Enough Kyle.” Devon spoke out coming forward. He pushed back the hunters that were holding Valentine and kneeled down to examine her before taking a quick glance at me.

“Enough ? And who are you to speak out of turn ? Michelangelo and Leonardo, brothers stand with me.” He asked.

While they were having their conversation I slowly made my move and retreated my figure. I hid one pair of jeans near one of those trees.

All the while, I watched them. I silently shifted back before wearing them and stood behind the tree.

Michelangelo was about to walk towards him but he was stopped by Leonardo. “Don’t.” He mouthed.

Everyone else started to shift back and I didn’t know most of them had my technique of hiding their belongings.

“Give it up, Kyle.” I said coming out from behind the tree.

He looked at everyone, sneering in disgust. “All of you are weak!”

“It’s over.” Devon stated.

“Nothing’s over until I stop breathing.” He said before pointing the gun at Valentine’s head. The pack including myself had our canines elongated ready to pounce.

Before I was about to make my move, Lilith pushed Kyle making him tumble down onto the ground but unfortunately, there was a gun shot heard.

I quickly rushed to check Valentine to see if there we any bullet pierced in her and I was relieved to know that there wasn’t.

She was becoming more aware of the things around her as the wolfsbane was getting diminished from her system.

I heard a gasp behind me and that made me turn to look behind me.

Lilith.

She looked at me confused to why most eyes were on her. That’s when she looked down and saw blood started spreading through her white shirt.

Her eyes started to water before her legs wobbled and gave out making her knees hit the ground. Before I could grab her, Gabriel beat me to it.

Gabriel Zades P.O.V

I grabbed her from behind as I tried to stop the blood from her wound gushing out further. But my attempts were failing.

“Pack doctor! Now!” I growled out.

Tears were already welling up in my eyes as she started to suffocate. Tears were flowing down her cheeks like waterfalls.

“I-I’m s-sor-ry” She cried.

“No no no.” I kept repeating. This can’t be happening.

The pack doctor rushed over to us examining to her.

“Devon! Get the remedy for that bullet.” Lucifer ordered.

Lucifer Zades P.O.V

“No!” Kyle shouted as he begin to get up from the ground.

The gun was just in front of me as I grabbed it and pointed right at him, I didn’t even give a second thought before pulling the trigger and shooting him straight in the head creating a hole right on the centre of his forehead.

I did mention his death would be on my hands.

Everyone watched in horror as his limp host fell onto the ground lifeless.

“Gabriel!” I shouted as he snapped his head towards me wide-eyed.

“Snap out of it and bring her to the pack house quickly!” I gave the potion that Devon gave for the anti-poisoning of the bullet to the doctor.

Gabriel nodded and carried her bridal style, she screamed from the pain but he had to.

She’ll Live.

I felt a hand touch my shoulders and on instinct i grabbed it harshly and turned to see a scared Valentine all dressed.

I exhaled before loosening my grip and intertwined our fingers. She’ll get it later for disobeying me.

“How could you ?” I heard. The voice I knew very well as he stood there bewildered and stunned.

My non-biological dad.

He stood beside Kyle’s corpse. I looked over at the rest of the hunters and they weren’t also pleased with the action that I’ve taken.

“How could I not ? He was about to kill her.” I said outraged.

“But you killed my only son.” He said kneeling beside his frame still shocked.

“We aren’t innocent either.” I stated.

“Devon-“ I started.

“I’ll have everyone to depart shortly.” He said. I gave him a short nod. He always knows.

“Besides, I never liked him or this job anyway.” He said and winked.

“Hunters attack!” My non-biological dad ordered.

By now most of the hunters and werewolves have retrieved.

“Step down hunter.” My biological dad, Alpha Zades warned.

“Come on sir.” Michelangelo and Leonardo assisted him.

“No! He trusted you!” He screamed before his frame disappeared as they dragged him away.

“I will be back Lucifer.” He snarled lastly. I rolled my eyes.

“Thanks.” I thanked Devon.

He just nodded and gave a pat behind my back. He had always been my loyal assistant but I seriously didm’t expect this much from him.

Alpha Nathaniel looked over at me before both he and my dad walked over to us. I unconsciously had my grip on Valentine tightened behind me.

She was still a bit woozy from the wolfsbane I presume and I carried her up bridal style knowing she’s gonna faint anytime soon if i don’t.

“Well done, son.” My dad said with a big grin on his face, pride latched all over him.

He looked over at Alpha Nathaniel waiting for him to say something but I knew he wouldn’t so I started to walk.

I don’t need a compliment for over a death. “Wait.” I heard and I turned around 180 degrees raising an eyebrow.

“Good job, the pack is safe because of you.” Alpha Nathaniel said. I just gave an understanding nod before continuing my way to the pack house and up to her room.
