Chapter 58: Chapter 58 Happy New Year

Lucifer Zades P.O.V

I stood in front of her blocking her from his view. “What do you think you are doing ?” Octavius asked, eyebrows knitting together.

“You’re our sister’s mate ?” Gabriel cut in making Octavius nod but kept his eyes glued on me.

“What’s g-going on?” Valentine came down looking confused as ever over the situation wearing her own clothes. She looked better in mines though.

“He’s keeping me away from my mate!” Octavius screeched angrily.

Valentine looked at me puzzled, then looked over at Gabriella. “G-Gabriella ?” She questioned. “Valentine!” Gabriella squealed before running over to hug her.

Octavius eyes followed her movements before looking at me again. “She is mine, learn your place.” He snarled.

“My place ? You tried to forcefully mark my mate.” I confessed.

Gabriella gasped looking at him.

He huffed. “You abused her, whose worse ?”

Everyone became deadly silent.

That has and will always be a sensitive subject. Something I assume will forever haunt me till my death.

“I had to in order to not let them get suspected.”

“No remorse even for a young girl ?” He asked.

“Octavius s-stop i-it.” Valentine told and he put his hand up in order to shush her.

“You broke a strong confident girl.” He sneered disgustingly.

“I’m a changed man now, don’t test me.” I warned.

“Octavius, let it go.” Gabriel cut in.

“Are you now ?” He pushed. I took a couple of slow steps towards him.

“You tried to rape my mate.” I said, my wolf trying to surface not appreciating the disrespect and contempt that he was receiving.

He growled challenging me. “I was caught up by her heat but you were totally enlightened.”

“Stop it both of you!” Gabriella shouted coming in between us. “You don’t rule me, honey.” Octavius smirked and she glared at him.

“As an alpha’s daughter, I can.” She stated daringly and his smirk fell.

“You’re my mate, you listen to me now.” He commanded resulting me and Gabriel to growl at him at the same time for ordering our sister like she was his slave.

He looked at us before looking at her in disbelief for not obeying him. “He rejected his mate and you all are against me ?” He asked.

He is fucking pushing his luck. I tried to stomp my way towards him before I was pulled back by Gabriel. “I had a reason that now I am sincerely regretting for!” I shouted at him still trying to get my way over to him as my canines elongated.

“I’m not accepting for you to be with our sister.” I confessed and he huffed pulling Gabriella to his side using her left arm.

“I don’t care, she belong to me now.” He said.

“Lucifer.” Valentine called making me look at her and she shook her head in order for me to let this go. Begging me with her chocolate brown eyes.

I sighed defeated and Gabriel let go of me nevertheless still stood beside me incase.

My canines retracted back and my eyes shifted back to my normal ones. I can identify that as whenever my eyes change to pitch black, I seemed to have better and sharper vision.

“For now she will be coming back to my pack.” Gabriel announced signalling Gabriella to go with him.

She looked at Gabriel before retrieving her eyes back to Octavius, torn between the two. “Gabriel, l-leave them.” Valentine asked.

“But-“ He was cut in.

“They j-just met e-each other, t-think how y-you felt a-about Lilith.” She reasoned making him think.

I wanted to protest. Object!

But..

She was right. I would murder anyone who ever tries to take Valentine away from me. Luckily, she didn’t have any brothers.

One father is enough to give me hell. I cringe at the unpleasant and irksome memories.

“Please.” She whispered and walked over to me before walking out from the house shifting into her golden wolf and ran into the woods.

I looked at Gabriella and Octavius. Gabriella just stared at me unknowingly what to do nor respond. I shook my head before running over and shifting into my jet black wolf to follow Valentine.

Valentine Winters P.O.V

I ran into the woods in my wolf form not knowing what to do or think. How could he try to separate Octavius and Gabriella ?

Both are good friends of mine. Gabriella was given to adoption by their mom, Hera’s sister named Megaera who lost her baby in the womb and her mate in a battle.

Since then, Gabriella had been raised by her in another pack and visits every once in a while.Octavius brought back old displeasing memories that I wanted to forget.

I heard thudding of paws behind me with my heightened hearing and from the scent I knew it was Lucifer.

What does he want now ? Can’t he give me a minute of privacy ? I slowed down my pace and started to walk before he caught up with me and started to walk alongside me. His ears were bent back glancing at me every now and then.

“Valentine, please don’t ignore me.” He pleaded through our mind link. Wow, he is a fast learner isn’t he ?

I whimpered before stopping my tracks and just looked down onto the ground taking my attention before sitting down. He neared me nuzzling his snout towards my neck and sat down beside me.

“I’m j-just- scared.” I whispered through the mind link. I don’t really know what’s wrong with me. I laid down on the ground on my belly placing my face in between both of my paws.

He laid down beside me, his gorgeous black wolf much bigger than mine licking my snout to make me feel better.

“I’m sorry.” He apologised.

“For w-what?” I asked.

“Everything.” He replied sadly and turned his big wolf head at the opposite way from me.

One week later, “Happy New Year!” My dad and mom shouted happily while I hugged them back. Well then, I’m turning seventeen this year.

Lucifer and me weren’t talking much and I was feeling guilty. He just stood there in a corner wearing a black leather jacket and black pants that he collected back from the hotel.

My pack had organised a new year function where Gabriel’s pack members were also welcomed and invited personally. I was wearing a short black dress that went down till mid thigh and brown wedges, leaving my hair free that flowed till my waist and had some make up on.

Lucifer went out from the room pretty quickly before I had the chance to even get ready. I walked over slowly towards him and he spotted me. I smiled up at him. “Happy N-New Year, Lucifer.” I wished. My stuttering was stopping nowadays, just sometimes it starts back.

He looked over at me from head to toe making me self conscious. He tucked a stray of hair behind my left ear with his right hand, caressing my face gently with his thumb. “Happy New Year, mate.” He replied before giving a soft kiss on my left cheek resulting a blush to appear.

His eyes lingered down on my legs before coming back up to look into my eyes. “It’s pretty short.” He commented.

“It’s pretty.” I said.

“You’re beautiful.” He complimented.

“I-I got to g-go.” I said before walking away from him making a frown to place upon his lips.

“Valentine ?” I heard someone call only to see Gabriella wearing a long white beautiful dress.

“Hi, welcome.” I gestured hugging her.

“Great party.” She said.

“You’re sisters here ?” She asked and I shook my head no.

“They s-still have no clue a-about anything and it s-seems they can’t make it e-either as both their mates a-are also Alphas.” I answered and she nodded understandingly.

“Where’s Octavius?” I questioned looking for him.

“Why ?” she asked, slight jealously covering her tone.

“Heard my name.” Octavius came wearing a tuxedo as I looked at him is a seriously manner.

He glanced at me in a don’t ask look making me chuckle. Gabriella looked at the both of us. “Am I missing something here?” She asked confused and I shook my head.

“Valentine!” I heard a voice all to familiar.

Gabriel Zades.

“Happy New Year!” He wished hugging me. I laughed at his sudden hug.

“Where’s Lucifer?” He asked and I pointed over to the corner where he once was. Gabriel looked at me again raising an eyebrow.

“He was t-there before.” I said confused searching for him.

“Don’t bother, he’ll come around.” Octavius snorted making the twins glare at him.

“You don’t always have to be rude about him.” Gabriella fought.

“Trust me babe, you don’t know him like I do.” Octavius retorted.

“Actually, you missed the part where he dropped everything just to be with her.” Zachary cut in making all of our attention drop on his figure.

“Happy New Year, Val!” He wished and I hugged him. Guess someone was eavesdropping this morning and now.

“Come on Zach, don’t join his side.” Octavius groaned.

“I’m not anyones side, just saying that he’s not all bad. Remember ?” Zachary replied putting his hands up.

Octavius rolled his eyes mumbling “Whatever.”

“I t-think that’s enough o-of his subject.” I said getting slightly annoyed. Zachary however proved a point that I long forgotten.

He doesn’t have anyone here. No friends, nothing. He chose this life for me and now I was ignoring him for my personal hormonal emotional reasons ?

Adamone Levi P.O.V

I sat down with a glass of whiskey in my hand, the party was going smooth. Just slightly boring that the elders are here which means no fun.

I saw Lilith wearing a red dress with her purple hair up in a pony tail along with my mate.

Evelyn Ra.

She was following behind her wearing paige coloured dress that reached mid thigh with two pony tails.

Pfft. Baby.

Lilith saw me and they headed my way. Why the goddamn hell me?

“Hey Adam.” She greeted and I nodded, wanting her to go on with what I should assist her for.

“Could you take care of Evelyn for me just for a while ?” She begged. Ugh! Why me?

“Umm.” I dragged.

“Sure ?” I said which came out more of a question instead.

“Thank you so much!” She thanked before disappearing into the crowd. Evelyn sat down beside me as her hazel eyes was watching the crowd having some fun and dancing.

Then her eyes locked with mines before a cute smile broke onto her lips. “Hi.” She waved and I smiled back at her.

Come on Adam, be nice.

“What’s your name ?” She asked sweetly.

“Adamone Levi.” I answered truthfully.

“Cool, mine’s-“ She started before I cut in. “Evelyn Ra, I know.”

“How old are you?” She questioned. Are we seriously playing 20 questions right now ? I raised an eyebrow at her.

“17 this year.” I responded.

“I’ll be turning-“

“14” I cut in once more.

Her eyebrows knitted together. “How come you know so much about me?”

“I’m smart.” I smirked.

She placed her right hand behind her back. “How many fingers am I holding ?”

“Duh! Five.” I answered instantly.

She glared at me.

“You’re not that bright.” She retorted.

“I am brighter than you, little girl.” I teased.

“I’m not a little girl!” She huffed crossing her arms over her chest.

“You are to me, doll.” I replied and she rolled her eyes.
