Chapter 10: Vampire Territory

Her Little WolfWords: 2051

Emerson POV

The terrain was different not in the sense that we're in a different place but it just..felt different and everyone on the train felt it.

It felt dark.

The once sunny but clouded sky turned into an all dark blue clouded sky, the air seeming to be thinker, and the trees darker and more in numbers this would be a werewolves home if not for the creature that occupied these forests.

"We're now in vampire territory. So please take a look around at the beautiful scenery." A man who I'm assuming was the conductor of the train said through the intercom.

The forest itself was beautiful, yes, but it sure didn't feel like it. It felt tense as if we were being watched.

"That's because you are." Carter said dragging me out of my own thoughts as I processed her words.

"What do you mean?" I asked as she sighed.

"Look at the tree line. They're watching us." She replied as I looked out my window closely to see figures standing in the forest blending in with the trees.

"We need to be on guard something about this doesn't feel like they're all too kind to see us here." She said as I nodded in agreement as I saw the figures make less and less appearances.

That would make sense I mean it's not everyday you let the one race that was in bloody war with you into your territory to let them live under one roof as you.

"The paper states that they aren't allowed to hurt us." I said as she scoffed.

"I'm sorry to say this but do you really think they're going to listen to that agreement?" She asked me causing me to go quiet.

"I didn't think so." She said as I watched out the window.

"We are in their territory now. This is their home. Thier domain. They have the high ground here and everyone on this train knows it." She explained making me nod in agreement.

That was a fact in itself. They were more dangerous here. They knew the land more than us.

"As soon as the bus stops we need to scout the area before anything else is done." I said to Carter which she agreed.

"We were thinking the same thing." She said before the mind link cut out.
