Emerson POV
I was looking out the window when the train came to a sudden stop making us all get pushed forward as it came to a complete stop.
"Passengers on the train this train cannot take you any further than this point meaning this is your stop. As said on your papers you must walk the rest of the way using your map. Now please exit the train and walk safely." The man's voice said over the intercom before cutting out.
Murmurs ran through the train from all the others as the man's speech ended. This seemed like a step up. There's no way they didn't see them running around in the forest earlier.
"Well I guess we all get off." Someone said as everyone hesitantly but silently agreed starting to gather their things and leave the train.
"This has to be a set up of some sort." Carter spoke up as I gathered my things.
I didn't know if I should agree or not I mean we haven't seen anyone for a while so if it was a set up wouldn't they have done something already?
"Not necessarily. They could be planning." She said replying to my thoughts as I got off the train.
The train station looked abandoned. No. It was abandoned. Grass growing through the openings of the tracks. The run down station was covered in broken down parts and such.
The air was cold and fast. The trees moved quickly making noise that would've covered up any other sounds. No running water. No nothing.
"This has to be a set up." Someone said as they looked around the others silently agreed with the statement said.
"We need to go. They are here and they're watching." Carter said as I felt their stares as she spoke.
The feeling ran down my back. I'm on guard now.
"Alright let's go then we just need to follow the map." I said as she agreed with me.
I picked up my things and walked towards the path labeled out by the papers given to us.
