Chapter 22: Tension

Emerson POV

As soon as we walked in the tension within the room came down on top of us. It was so tight that it could take the air out of someone.

All eyes of both species went to the doors as they opened numerous people coming into the huge room with us.

We found somewhere to sit mostly away from huge groups of people as the clatter and voice of many people rang through my ears.

"The tension is thick." Taylor whispered making me nod in agreement.

"You want to get some food?" She asked.

I nodded and we both got up and got some food within the line. Multiple people were staring and I could feel their eyes on me.

I only got some fruit as I couldn't fully trust having anything else for now especially not with all this tension in the room.

"Really Emerson?" She said giving me a look as I looked back at her confused.

"What?" I asked as she looked down at my tray and then back up at me.

"Just fruit? What are you? A vegan werewolf?" She asked making me gasp.

"One, that's insulting two, no I'm not and three, I don't think I could eat anything else with all this tension around me." I mumbled as I ate my grapes.

"Plus there's nothing wrong with just eating fruits, it's called being healthy." I said as she snorted.

"Healthy my ass." She mumbled as I laughed.

"Alright students, good morning. I know most are not pleased to be up this early but me and miss Knight wanted all of you to explore the school grounds with one another." Miss River said Miss Knight standing right beside her.

"That's not going to end well." Taylor mumbled making me glance at her curiously.

"Why not?" I asked.

"Because all the vampires here hate werewolves with a passion so fights are destined to happen." She explained.

Well I can tell you that the werewolves that were on the train with me feel the same exact way.

"Well if no one has anything to say then we'll leave you to your day. Have fun exploring the premises." Miss River said with a smile before walking off with Miss Knight.

"Well guess we gotta get going." Taylor said as I nodded in agreement before we stood up leaving the cafeteria.
