Chapter 30: Lunchtime Thoughts

Emerson POV

Eyes were on everyone.

Now that class schedules were released everyone was making their own alliances with people and such.

Everyone knew that they would be in class with other werewolves or vampires depending on what you were.

"Everyone is taking sides you know." Taylor said making me shake my head.

"Everyone is trying to see what classes they have with other people just to make sure they sit with people of their own." Taylor explained.

"What about you guys? What are the other wolves doing?" She asked.

"I don't know I haven't really been paying any mind to them. But if I had to say they're probably sticking with people from their pack or from their alliances." I answered as she listened intently.

"Well we have each other so we don't need to worry about that stuff." She said with a smile making me nod in agreement.

I knew we wouldn't have to worry about that stuff to be completely honest what I was worried about was making enemies of my own kind. Which I knew I was. Werewolves hated it when someone hung out with someone that wasn't 'one of us' unless it was a race that was peaceful with us.

And to be honest I hated that mentality. It was draining. Too draining sometimes. Because it's all they'd talk about.

"We'll be ok as long as we keep a low profile." Carter said probably waking up from her nap.

I agreed with her silently but my problem was with Taylor. What if she's also making enemies of her own people just because of me. I didn't want that.

"Emerson.. EMERSON!" Taylor said snapping in my face causing me to leave my thoughts as she stared at me.

"You alright? You zoned out for a moment." She asked sounding worried.

"Yeah I'm just thinking that's all." I replied with a smile.

"Alright well if you need anything I'm here for you." She said with a smile making me smile back before we went back to eating.
