Emerson POV

"Alright students take a short break and don't touch any of the chemicals I'll be out for a short while." Our professor said as she left the room to go talk to another professor.

"This class is boring." Carter said which made me chuckle.

"Well I like it." I replied to her which made her laugh.

"That's because you like anything to do with science or history so this is the perfect class for you." She said.

"Ok my apologies you don't like to learn." I scoffed which made her chuckle.

"Nerd." She said plainly making me roll my eyes as I broke the link between us. I started reading the textbook before I felt a liquid land on my hand.

"Whoops." The man said as I made eye contact with him completely confused.

"Wait why did you just- ow!" I yelped as the liquid began to sizzle on my skin.

The liquid seemed to burn my skin I quickly got up as pain went all throughout my hand. Carter began to whimper loudly as I poured water all over it which was recommended for any chemical burn.

"It burns!" I yelped tears welding in my eyes as the smell of burning skin filled my nose.

"What the hell did you throw on me?" Carter yelled through me which made the teacher rush in as I tried to wipe off all of what he threw on me.

The teacher rushed to my aid as she could probably help me more than anyone as she was a vampire and we were in vampire chemistry I guess you could say.

"It burns! It burns!" Me and Carter yelled in pain our voices switching out as the both of us spoke the water seemed to only make it worse.

The liquid felt as if it was burning to the bone. The smell of my now dead skin filling my nose. The water only seemed to add to the sizzling that was happening on my skin.

"Come on Emerson I'll get you to the nurse." She whispered to me as she put a towel over my hand and walked me out of the classroom.
