Piper POV
I tried my best to comfort Taylor who was worried about Emerson which was understandable given the circumstance and the smell of dead skin and blood under the towel she held.
I looked over at Valencia who was just staring at Emerson. Her expression was unreadable but I could tell she was in her own thoughts.
She had been acting weird since the day in the forest, now, and not to mention last night. It was like she was fascinated by the wolf for some reason. The memory of last night though was still fresh in my brain.
Flashback
I was sitting on the bed late at night the moon shining lightly in the sky as I glanced over at Valencia who was looking out of the window.
"What are you staring at?" I asked curious as I saw her eyes following something. A small smile slowly coming to her face.
"I have to go I'll be back don't wait up for me." She said as she left the dorm before I could even say something.
I got up and looked out our window to see her running into the forest.
"What a weirdo." I mumbled as I got back in bed and continued to read my book.
It was only about 30 minutes later when she came back with the same smile she left with which personality creeped me out.
"Where did you go? And why are you smiling you never smile." I asked which made her smile widen for some reason as if she was thinking about something.
"I went to visit a little wolf." She answered before laying in bed and quickly drifting off to sleep.
Little wolf?
I looked outside the window to see Emerson walking inside the academy from the woods. I looked between the two and sighed.
This is weird. I thought shaking my head as I laid down and went to sleep for the night.
End of flashback
Every time Emerson is involved Valencia is somehow there. Plus I've seen her stalking around her constantly.
I mean it's one thing to worry about a friend, yeah, but this...this was different. The look she had on her face was different from any I had ever seen from her before.
I sighed and shook my head keeping Taylor close to me as we all sat around Emerson waiting for any news to come of her condition.
