Emerson POV

"That's why everything smells so sweet." I said chuckling not even realizing that I had completely forgotten about 'mating season'.

"Emerson! Mating season? You should be more worried I mean you have to do the devil's tango with a rando." She said with a wide grin.

"Wow. How much do they not know about werewolves?" Carter asked shocked but also laughed at her words.

"That's a myth that's not how mating season works." I said with a chuckle which made her grin turn into a look of confusion.

"What do you mean? It's in the name 'mating' season." She said confused as she sat down in front of me.

"Mating session refers to finding your mate not bonding with them." I said as she nodded understandingly.

"So how does it work then?" She asked, which made me chuckle and smile at her.

"When mating season happens every scent is basically sensible to one's nose but when you find your mate they stand out to you. Like they're the only ones in the world." I started off as she listened intently.

"Ok then what so what happens then?" She asked curiously.

"Well it's said that when your eyes meet your wolf and you finally feel complete in life, your heart feels whole, and you want nothing more but to get close to them to learn everything about them and stuff like that." I explained.

"Have you met your mate?" She asked.

"No I haven't but I hope I find them this year." I said truthfully as she smiled in amazement.

"Wow your guys mating stuff sounds a whole lot cooler than ours." She said which made me curious.

"What's your guys like?" I asked.

"Well most vampires when they meet their mate most of us know instantly. We don't need a smell or anything like that. We just know and we like you want to know everything about them. We get close to them and such and are extremely protective but that's about it." She explained.

"Your guys sound a whole lot simpler." I said with a smile which made us both laugh.
