Valencia POV

Mate.

She was my mate.

If I didn't know from the look she was giving me I would find out from the scent of fresh vanilla.

She seemed shocked and maybe worried? I wasn't sure about that one.

I wanted to go to her, I wanted to hold her, tell her everything was fine but I was hesitant to do so. But I shoved off the feeling and began to slowly walk towards her.

She kept her eyes on me as I walked. Watching every step I made as I drew closer and closer to her.

I wiped off my bloody hands on my pants. I didn't want to get blood on her face. Especially not the blood of those low lives.

Then finally I stopped directly in front of her, face to face, I stood there for a moment taking in the beauty I never got to look at from the ways away I used to watch her from.

I slowly raised my hand to her cheek and gently caressed it while keeping eye contact with her. Her skin was soft not to mention her breathing was better than before.

"Are you alright?" I asked as she took in my touch for a minute before nodding probably still in shock.

"I'm sorry you had to see that." I said softly before she hugged me tightly.

"Thank you for saving me.." She whispered finally speaking. It caught me off guard for a moment before I hugged her back.

"Don't thank me. I'm just glad I got here in time." I replied back as I rubbed small circles into her back as I felt her begin to cry.

"You're safe now. They won't hurt you anymore I promise." I whispered as she cried into my shoulder.

I heard running coming towards us making me tap her gently.

"Someone is coming." I whispered making her nod as she quickly pulled away from my embrace and wiped her tears as I turned to see both of the headmasters, Piper, and Taylor.

"I'm going to ask this once but what happened here?"
