“A memorable day?” Yan Su was confused. “Isn’t this our first day together?”

“Yeah, the first day, so it’s special,” Mo Liuxi said.

He took the food from her hands and set it on the table. He pulled out a chair and signaled for her to sit down.

Yan Su sat down and looked at the cake. She felt as if she was in a dream. Everything that was happening at the moment seemed too good to be true. It was the first time a man had tried to surprise her. It was an old trick, but girls liked it.

“Did you do this while I was cooking?” Yan Su looked around. She couldn’t imagine how difficult it was for him to do all of this work with one hand.

“Yeah.” Mo Liuxi raised his left hand. “I burned my hand a few times.”

Yan Su looked at his hand and saw some red wax on his fingers. It must have hurt when the wax dripped on his skin.

She held his hand and complained in a gentle voice, “You’re still injured. Why did you do all this?”

“It was a surprise,” Mo Liuxi replied. His words were simple but touching.

“Do I even get a surprise on our first day together?” Yan Su asked.

Mo Liuxi nodded and said, “We were supposed to go out for our first date and maybe have a candlelight dinner, but you’re a star and I’m injured. The balcony was my second-best choice. Come on, try the cake. I ordered it from a place far away. It’s exclusively for you.”

“So, you didn’t go to the hospital this afternoon did you?” Yan Su asked.

“No. I’ll go tomorrow.” Mo Liuxi smiled. “Are you surprised now?”

“I am.” Yan Su was really touched.

She was a little worried earlier in the day when she agreed to be with him, especially since he was younger than her. However, she now believed that she had made the right choice. No matter what might happen in the future, they were together and happy now.

“Liuxi, thank you,” Yan Su said in a soft voice. “No one has ever done all this for me.”

Mo Liuxi was a bit surprised. “Weren’t you with Shi Xiang a long time?”

“We were young, and we didn’t have money. It was not like now.” Yan Su sighed and said, “We hardly had chances to see each other after he started his career.”

Mo Liuxi looked at her and felt a little pity for her. She was silly. She wasted four years of her life for a relationship like that. Shi Xiang was such a scum. He lied to her and made her believe that he loved her yet didn’t even see her. Good girls easily got hurt, including his sister and Yan Su.

“Try the cake,” he said in a deep voice.

Yan Su didn’t know where the cake came from, but it tasted awesome. She didn’t dare eat too much of it since she needed to save some room for dinner.

As they were about to eat dinner, Mo Liuxi put a spoon before her and said, “Feed me.”

Yan Su’s mouth slightly twitched. “You ate with your left hand at lunch in the canteen.”

“That’s because I didn’t want others to know about our relationship. I had no choice but to do it myself. Now, we’re alone. I don’t need to push myself that hard anymore.” Mo Liuxi made himself sound very reasonable.

Considering the thoughtful surprise he created for her, Yan Su had no other choice but to feed him.

After dinner, Yan Su did the dishes. Mo Liuxi stood by her side and said, “I’ll never let you wash dishes again when my hand heals.”

“Really?” Yan Su doubted his words. “Guys hate washing dishes. My Dad hates it. He fought with my Mom every time she asked him to do the dishes.”
