Nian Xi almost laughed out loud. She didn’t often have the chance to see her brother frightened.

Luosang glanced at Nian Junting, then said to Jiang Yuning, “Mr. Jiang, thank you for giving our Apple such a precious gift. This watch is helpful for us indeed. We don’t know how to thank you. Are you free this afternoon? Come to our house if you are.”

“I’ll go if Nian Xi goes.” Jiang Yuning turned and looked at Nian Xi without blinking.

“You don’t need to work this afternoon, do you? Come on.” Luosang smiled. “We’ll have dinner at home. Everybody will be there.”

“All right.” Nian Xi had decided to spend the afternoon in Tianhu Villa. She just didn’t know that she would be bringing Jiang Yuning there too.

After lunch, Nian Junting and Luosang stood up, escorting the guests out of the restaurant.

He walked the Feng Family out first. Before leaving, Mr. Feng smiled at him sourly, then said, “Junting, congratulations. Nian Xi is so lucky to be with a scientist. I’ve heard about it. Look at how happy your families are.”

Nian Junting furrowed his eyebrows slightly, then responded with, “I don’t know much about Xi’s boyfriend, but she has broken up with Ji Chuan already. She couldn’t always be single, could she? The people in our family all wanted her to find someone.”

Mrs. Feng wanted to say something, but Feng Ji Chuan glared at her and stopped her. Apologetically, he said to Nian Junting, “Junting, I’m not going to your house in the afternoon. I need to go to the police station.”

Watching the Feng Family people leave, Nian Junting sighed. “Uncle Feng and Aunty Feng are feeling uncomfortable.”

Luosang thought for a moment and said, “They wouldn’t feel so uncomfortable if their son had a girlfriend. They just feel embarrassed. They believe that their son is the best, yet before he found a new girlfriend, Nian Xi is already with someone. They feel it’s unfair. Look at your father. Your father urged Nian Xi to find someone earlier. Wasn’t he thinking the same as them?”

Nian Junting didn’t say anything. She was right.

“Junting! Congratulations! You are a father. I should leave now.” A tall young man walked over, wearing a perfectly tailored black suit. His chiseled face made him look polite and serious. One would find his eyes as deep as an abyss when looking into them. Those eyes could even make people feel fear.

“Bohan, thank you for coming.” Nian Junting shook his hand and said, “I was too busy to welcome you properly. I am sorry.”

“It’s all right. Let’s get together when you have time,” said Xu Bohan. After saying that, he nodded at Luosang, then turned and left.

Luosang had known Nian Junting for long, but it was the first time she met Xu Bohan.

“Who is this Mr. Xu? Why have I never seen him?”

“I have many friends in Xia City. Have you met them all?” Nian Junting smiled.

“No. This Mr. Xu is especially...” Under Nian Junting’s gaze, Luosang changed the word ‘good-looking’ to ‘nice’.

“Nice?” Nian Junting gave a small smile and said, “How do you know that he’s nice? You don’t even know him.”

“You’re right.” Luosang immediately nodded. “He looks quite good, not ugly, at least. Did you meet him recently? I don’t think he showed up at our wedding.”

“He’s my high school classmate. Before you became my girlfriend, I hung out with him occasionally. He’s the only one among my classmates that I’m still in contact with. We are both good at studying, so we have some shared topics. Three years ago, he was transferred to another town for work. He only got transferred back this year,” Nian Junting said blandly.
