“It does a good job.” Jiang Yuning nodded and said, “It makes great food, but it doesn’t provide many food choices. Making simple dishes is not a problem for the robot. It’ll be better than eating instant noodles. You found your floor mopping robot not good enough because you don’t know about machines. Nowadays, advertisements exaggerate the merits of some machines. Also, the floor mopping robot you bought is cheap.”

She was a girl from a rich family, yet a scientist was telling her that the floor mopping robot she had was too cheap. Her mom bought that robot from abroad, and it was actually rather expensive. Nian Xi wondered how her mother would feel if she heard what Jiang Yuning said.

“Since you’re so capable, why don’t you make me a floor-mopping robot?” Nian Xi chuckled. “It should be easy for you.”

Jiang Yuning paused briefly, then quickly shook his head.

“Oh. It’s okay. After all,

you’re not omnipotent.” Nian Xi thought Jiang Yuning didn’t know how to make robots.

“It’s not like that,” Jiang Yuning murmured. “I’m better at cleaning than a robot.”

If she had a robot to clean her apartment, what would he do? He wouldn’t have a chance to display his skill of cleaning.

Nian Xi laughed. So that’s what he was thinking about.

He was growing more sly.

“You’re right. I have you. What do I need a robot for?” Nian Xi hurriedly held his arm and said with a smile, “The robot is not going to kiss me, or warm my bed, or... do that thing with me.”

The conversation suddenly went dirty.

Jiang Yuning’s pretty face reddened.

“What? Am I not right?” As he stayed silent, Nian Xi raised her brows with a wicked smile. “Should I say... have sex?”

“Yo-you are right. You are always right. It is like what you said.” Jiang Yuning started sweating.

Seeing the helpless look on the boy’s face, Nian Xi spared him. “Science is developing fast these days. We have intelligent machines everywhere. A lot of people might lose their jobs in the future because machines will take their place.”

“That’s why my friends’ technology isn’t declared yet.” Jiang Yuning hurriedly nodded and said, “There’s a high cost though. Even if some other people developed the same type of robot, the chance of popularizing the technique would still be very low.”

“I didn’t know scientists needed to think about that kind of thing.” Nian Xi was surprised.

“Sometimes scientists shouldn’t keep their eyes on the profits. Science is supposed to help people and provide them with convenience,” said Jiang Yuning seriously. “That’s what my parents have been telling me since I was little. Some scientists go to extremes for money.”

Nian Xi nodded to agree. Jiang Yuning was an innocent boy, but about science, he had solid beliefs.

The two of them unwittingly walked to the vegetable zone. Nian Xi wasn’t interested in vegetables, so she spent time on her phone and let Jiang Yuning do the shopping alone.

About ten minutes later, she found a lot of fresh vegetables, meat, and shrimp, placed neatly in her cart.

“You’re good at picking food. I’m surprised,” she said.

Jiang Yuning scratched the back of his head and said, “Actually, I don’t know how to select food. I picked the most expensive ones. Uncle Han said that the expensive ones are always good.”

Uncle Han is such a spender, Nian Xi thought.

She picked up a box of pork and found it scarily expensive. “Having expensive food like this every day is too lavish for us,” she said to Jiang Yuning in a serious tone. “We can have some normal food next time. I know you have money, but you shouldn’t waste it.”

“Oh.” Jiang Yuning nodded. Abruptly, he gave her a grin and said, “Xi, you are such a nice girl. Uncle Han told me that your family is so rich, so everything you have must be the best of its kind. But I feel that you are actually living a poor life.”
