“Fine, fine. You told me that before. I already know.” Yan Su turned to leave.

He used to say that all the time, even when they were together. It seemed like he would never change.

Mo Liuxi looked around and picked up a smart casual outfit in a checkered pattern. The jacket was matched with a checkered shirt inside. “This set looks good.”

“This is from the latest autumn collection that our designer brought out.” The shopkeeper smiled. “Your body looks perfect, so this would look fantastic on you. It will go well with a pair of dark-wash denim jeans.”

“This set then.” Mo Liuxi nodded his head and gestured to Yan Su.

“Sorry... how much is it?” Yan Su asked in trepidation.

The shopkeeper looked at the price tag and said, “The set costs 6,999 euros.”

Yan Su felt faint. It would cost over 50,000 RMB.

“Are you converting the price?” Mo Liuxi asked.

“Nope.” Yan Su shook her head. “It’s too expensive. Is there anything cheaper? Hmm.. anything below 5000 dollars.”

The shopkeeper’s expression was a little tense now. “I’m sorry. All of our shirts are above that price range. If you turn right down the street, there might be a marketplace but it’s likely to be closed at this hour.”

Yan Su frowned while Mo Liuxi turned to look at her. “Yan Su, you’re a celebrity aren’t you? You earn way more than this in a single day. Do you have to be so stingy? I’m your... I’m your ex-boyfriend, and I’ve ended up in water twice because of you. I got your wallet back as well. Your wallet would cost at least a hundred thousand dollars. Am I right?”

“This is sponsored by a company.” Yan Su sighed. She thought about how she had to spend money on her daughter that month as well as her daughter’s father. What a pair of leeches. “I feel heartache thinking about spending 50,000 dollars on you.”

Mo Liuxi opened his mouth to protest but Yan Su quickly said, “If you’re not happy with the arrangements, I can give you ten thousand dollars and you can buy whatever you like. You’ll just have to take care of the remaining balance yourself. I’m sure Director Mo doesn’t lack money.”

Mo Liuxi replied sadly after a while, “Yan Su, when did you become so... become so...”
