However, Jiang Yuning merely pursed his lips in silence with a troubled expression.

Five minutes later, the elevator repairman came out and explained uneasily, “I checked through the elevator once just now. It seems like there’s a fault with the inverter. The fault lasted for around two seconds, and it was quickly restored subsequently.”

“Two seconds?” Nian Junting narrowed his eyes. “When you’re in an elevator, one second of malfunctioning alone can be fatal. Not to mention two seconds! It’s practically a miracle to be alive. How do you guys usually conduct your maintenance?”

The repairman replied glumly, “I just conducted maintenance on it three days ago, and there was nothing wrong with the elevator at all at that time. I also don’t understand why such a thing could happen so abruptly. Besides, this elevator has been in service for seven years, and this is the first time that it has malfunctioned like this.”
