After about ten minutes, Mo Liuxi was back with the book. When he placed it in her hands, it was still warm from the air from the hairdryer.
He teased her cheekily, âIt was quite damp. I had to blow dry it for a long time.â
Yan Su did not know what to say.
Mo Liuxi rubbed her pink cheeks and said, âAlright, Iâll leave you to study. Iâll go make supper for you, my poor Susu baby.â
â...â
Yan Su was at a loss of what to say after that cheesy line. âYou just returned from another city. Arenât you tired? You donât have to make supper for me.â
âIâm tired, but hungry too. You donât think all that plowing just now took up a lot of energy from me?â Mo Liuxi grinned naughtily.
Yan Su hit him with the book. âYouâre willing to be a cow, but I didnât say that I was okay with being the soil.â
Mo Liuxi laughed and walked out of the room.
Yan Su pondered about it, before deciding to continue working on her thesis. After that exchange, she was wide awake again and hard-pressed for time, and she must not waste her chance.
At nearly midnight, Mo Liuxi carried two plates of bolognese pasta into the room.
Yan Suâs eyes lit up, the food looked delicious. Although she just had dinner not long ago, she already had room for more food in her stomach. She had a long day after all.
âWeâll make do with what we have. We only have pasta,â Mo Liuxi was a little disgruntled when he said that. âYou have too little stuff in your fridge, so there wasnât much to work with.â
Yan Su blinked for a moment. âI donât usually have supper. What ingredients am I supposed to have?â
âLobster or something. Itâs lobster season now,â Mo Liuxi said nonchalantly, âOr chicken wings, cheese, bacon, pizza, salmon, fresh prawns...â
Yan Su fell silent.
That was a lot of requests.
âThis is my lowest standard,â Mo Liuxi grunted. âIf youâre willing to move over to my place, you can get a delicious table of supper every day.â
âThank you, but I think this pasta is great,â Yan Su said while slurping on her noodles.
Mo Liuxi remarked, âItâll be great if thereâs a fruit pizza.â
âYou can call delivery.â
He shook his head. âItâs not as good as the one I make.â
Yan Su did not know what to say.
When they were done, Mo Liuxi asked her to go to bed, but Yan Su refused. She was still planning to work on her thesis paper for another hour.
Mo Liuxi thought about it for a while, before sitting next to her with a book.
Yan Su looked over at him, who said, âI have exams as well, and the tested subjects are much more than yours.â
However, Yan Su suddenly recalled that his family was full of academic whizzes, so she was not worried about him at all. She was different, and she had to work hard to compensate for what she was lacking genetically.
The two of them worked hard until about two in the morning.
At 8 a.m., the alarm rang and Yan Su struggled to wake up and get dressed.
She had a lot of things lined up that day. Mo Liuxi moved in bed a little, before quickly getting up to make breakfast for her.
They had noodles for breakfast, eggs, and milk too. Mo Liuxi smiled and said, âSusu, you bought me over with a bowl of porridge at the beginning, but now I have to make you breakfast for the rest of our lives. Iâve made a bad deal, havenât I?â
Yan Su felt bad. âIâll make you some porridge every day once my tour ends, alright?â
âAlright...â Mo Liuxi answered her gently, âSusu, Iâm thinking about getting Yan Yan over to stay here for a bit during the summer holidays since weâre both going to be in Xia City. I still think itâs important for a child to be accompanied by their parents. Iâve discussed this with your parents, and theyâre fine with it.â
Yan Su was stunned, and she could only nod her head. She had thought about that for a while, but she just did not have the time to talk to her parents yet.
