Nian Xi felt like the bad guy.
She regretted it. She shouldnât have said what she said the day before. Uncle Han was right. She was being too hurtful. Just because she cared about what others thought of her, she selfishly pushed away someone so pure and kind.
At the VIP waiting lounge.
They were standing around and chatting here and there. Only Jiang Yuning was sitting down in a daze. Perhaps he was deep in thought, but Nian Xi thought he looked bored and a little sad.
Like what Uncle Han said: He had no friends and he wasnât good at socializing. He extended his kindness to her, but she shunned it because it bothered her. The more she thought about it, the more upset she felt. She wanted to walk over to him but the lounge was quiet; she didnât know how to explain herself if she walked over to him.
When they finally boarded the plane, Uncle Han and Jiang Yuning sat together. Nian Xi walked over and asked to change seats with Uncle Han.
Uncle Han refused her. âOfficer Nian. Havenât I made myself clear? Have you stopped caring about what others think about you?â
Nian Xi was blushing from embarrassment. âUncle Han, I can protect him if I sit next to him. Iâm here to apologize to you and Mr. Jiang. I was being selfish yesterday.â
âHave you really thought this through?â Uncle Han raised his brows. âPlease donât do anything else to hurt Mr. Jiang anymore. The longer you spend time together, the more hurtful your words will be.â
âI promise, I wonât.â Nian Xi swore.
âPlease take care of Mr. Jiang during the flight then.â Uncle Han stood up to make way.
Jiang Yuning looked at Uncle Han and he seemed troubled. He then looked at Nian Xi and quickly looked away, staring outside the window.
âIsnât it uncomfortable to sit that way?â Nian Xi teased him. He still wasnât looking at her. She could only see his side profile; his pink ear facing her.
Suddenly, she leaned in and blew in his ear.
Jiang Yuning felt a wave of electricity pass through him and he turned around violently. Nian Xiâs face was inches away from him.
After staring into each otherâs eyes for a while, Jiang Yuning was blushing to the tips of his ears.
Nian Xi was feeling a little awkward, but she found it amusing when she saw his face turn red.
âAll right. Donât be angry anymore. Iâll apologize to you, and itâs not that I donât want to be your friend, neither do I dislike you,â Nian Xi said. âIâm sorry. Will you still talk to me?â
Jiang Yuning was still looking at her in a daze. Nian Xi was looking at him as well. He looked like a sweet, cute and innocent boy.
After nearly half a minute, he quickly wrote on his notepad, âCan I still follow you around and talk to you? Do you like me?â
Nian Xi nodded her head. âOf course we can be good friends.â
Jiang Yuningâs eyes lit up, and he nodded his head and wrote again, âPlease donât hate me. I like you.ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Nian Xiâs heart melted when she read what he wrote. How could there be anyone as pure and innocent as him? He was like a blank slate.
âI like you as a friend too.â Nian Xi smiled.
Jiang Yuning was grinning like a child.
âPut on your seat belt,â Nian Xi said, reminding him.
He obediently fastened his seatbelt and continued to stare at her.
âLook to the front, donât always stare at me.â Nian Xi adjusted his face to the front.
Jiang Yuning grinned as he wrote, âYou are pretty.â
