He didn’t want to be friends with her. He wanted to be her boyfriend, to hold her hands, to kiss her and to hold her.

As he stayed silent, Nian Xi forced herself to stand up and said, “I’m going downstairs.”

The breakfast was served, yet Jiang Yuning was still upstairs.

Uncle Han went up to find him.

He was silently sitting on the bed. As Uncle Han went into the room, he said frustratedly, “I know you want me to have the breakfast, but I have no appetite. Nian Xi said that she doesn’t like me, and that she wants to marry her ex-boyfriend. Her ex-boyfriend is tall and muscular. I don’t have muscles. I’m not as good as him.”

Uncle Han gave a bitter smile and said, “Mr. Jiang, it’s not the time to think about that. We should leave. We’ll be in trouble if they find out about your dark energy study.”

Jiang Yuning shook his head with disappointment and said, “I’m not in the mood to keep working on the dark energy.”

Uncle Han didn’t know what to say. He was desperate.

“If we stay here, Miss Nian might be in danger.” Uncle Han felt he had to say that.

“Get changed.” Uncle Han handed him his clothes and then started packing his suitcase.

Jiang Yuning got dressed and went downstairs. By that time, Nian Xi and the others were ready to go.

Huo Lizhi returned to the team, and they headed to the airport.

As they arrived at the airport and prepared to check-in, a group of police officers came over. The leader of the group was a French policeman. He said, “Mr. Jiang, Langyi Oda from Japan has reported a case. You are suspected of plagiarizing his work. Please come with us. We’ll make things clear.”

Everyone was shocked. Nian Xi said with anger, “Langyi Oda stole his work. Didn’t you see the report that Mr. Jiang published on the website this morning?”

The group of French policemen glanced at each other, then responded with, “Sorry, we didn’t see it.”

Nian Xi turned to Jiang Yuning and asked him, “Didn’t you say that you’d publish it this morning?”

Jiang Yuning paused briefly, then murmured, “I forgot. I fell in love.”

Nian Xi couldn’t say a word.

“Please come with us,” A policeman moved forward, attempting to put handcuffs on Jiang Yuning’s wrists.

Fang Qi hurriedly stood before Jiang Yuning and said, “We are from China. We are invited to the International Conference of Physics. You have no right to arrest any of us.”

“This is supported by the international public law. We cannot let him leave. If you resist, there might be bad consequences.” The group of French policemen immediately drew out their pistols.

Seeing the scene enfold, the other passengers hurriedly ran away, then turned back to watch and take pictures.

Jiang Yuning stayed silent, then made a step forward and said, “I’ll go with you.”

“You are crazy!” Nian Xi pulled his arm and said loudly, “They said they’ll make things clear, but it’ll be hard for you to come out.”

“I can’t let you… and the others get hurt.” Jiang Yuning pushed her away and let the policeman put handcuffs on him.

“Mr. Jiang, don’t worry. I’ll talk to your lawyer right now,” said Uncle Han.

Jiang Yuning nodded.

He was then taken away by the group of policemen. Before getting into the police car, he gave Nian Xi a deep glance.

“Those people are so shameless.” Nian Xi clenched her fists and said, “I wonder if they’ll torture him illegally in the police station.”

Thinking about Jiang Yuning’s thin and weak body, Nian Xi doubted if he could take any violence at all.
