Mistaking the CEO for a Gigolo Chapter 1266
âIâll tell them to change the menu and prepare something delicious for you tonight.â
Davin broke into a grin as soon as he heard this. âI shouldnât trouble you but thank you, Aunt Jordyn!â
Jordynâs expression fell. âDonât ever call me Aunt Jordyn again. I have nothing to do with Murphy anymore. If thereâs one thing thatâs left between us, itâs hatred!â
Davin gulped when he heard that. He turned to look at Levant, who had no intention to answer. Davin then chuckled awkwardly. âI know that Uncle Morris has done you wrong, but you should at least give him another chance. After all, Levant needs a loving family!â
âI donât need one. Iâm all grown up!â Levant frowned.
Davin looked at him with a straight face.
You donât need one but your parents might! Canât you at least try and help them get back together?
Levant sneered as though he understood what Davin was thinking. âYou canât force a relationship. As long as they get what they want and live happily, I donât think it matters if theyâre together or not.â
At that, Davin was speechless.
How could I forget this guy is super stubborn when it comes to relationships? He hates matchmaking so much, so how could I have expected him to do so for others?
âAll right. I need to go to prepare the herbs. Iâll leave you two to talk.â
Davin sighed as soon as Jordyn left. âLevant, shouldnât you help matchmake your parents? Donât you want to see them live a happy life?â
âThereâs no way matching two people who donât have feelings for each other will help them live a happy life. Some people are just not meant to be together!â
âHow do you know there are no feelings between your parents? Where do you think you came from if they donât have feelings for each other?â Davin teased.
Levant rolled his eyes at him. âThereâs nothing between me and Tiffany, but we have a child as well. Having a child together doesnât necessarily mean thereâs love between two people.â
Davin was at a loss for words for a moment. âI donât know how to reason with you using normal logic!â He paused before he continued, âForget about it. I shouldnât be reasoning with you. Tell your mom to make more good food tonight. The Hidden Masters need to have something good after their tough journey getting the Resurrecting Herb and Exquisite Flower.â
Levant shot him a look and left.
âHey, Iâm talking to you! Whatâs with your attitude? No matter what, youâre still the young master of Nepenthe Valley. You canât do this to a guest! You have to treat your guests with hospitality,â Davin nagged as he followed behind Levant.
Two days later, Jordyn had finished preparing the antidote with the Resurrecting Herb and Exquisite Flower. After a whole morning, another one-third of Ninaâs poison had been cleared.
Nina looked so much better now, with a natural flush on her cheeks.
Levant teased, âDoes this cure have the ability to enhance beauty too?â Ninaâs snowy white face looked so much prettier than before.
âDoesnât she look more like Nicole the more you look at her? Donât you like her more as you look at that face?â Davin murmured into Levantâs ear in a teasing tone.
Levantâs expression stiffened for a second before his lips twitched and he stepped on Davinâs foot as hard as he could.
âHey!â Davin cried out in pain.
âIâm sorry. I didnât see you there.â
Davin glared at him. Pfft! I bet you did it on purpose! Well, I guess itâs kind of my fault. I shouldnât have mentioned Nicole when I know that heâs still not over her.
âWhy does Nina look so much better while my condition looks so bad?â Monica asked as she looked at Crystal Rose quizzically.
Monica had also cleared the poison three times, just like Nina did. However, she still felt weak.
