Chapter 1737 A Nice Man
She instantly pulled a straight face and said, âCome in.â
Stephen came over with two sets of blueprints in his hands. He stood by the door and panted as if he had just run to Ninaâs office.
He then passed the documents to her. âHereâs the promo posters Iâve designed for the cosmetic products. Take a look.â
Nina took a casual look at the posters and immediately put them aside. âWell done.â
Stephen, who had worked hard on these designs last night, responded with a grin. âAre you free tonight? Do you want to have dinner together?â
Nina smiled. The moment she had been waiting for had finally arrived.
After receiving a bouquet of roses from him yesterday, she knew Stephen would ask her out for dinner tonight.
âSure. Where to?â
âSince Iâm buying you dinner for the first time, you tell me where you would want to go. If you donât know what to choose, I can give you a few suggestions.â
Nina thought about it and replied, âI have a place in mind. Letâs go.â
Stephen nodded and left the office with her.
Nina picked a stylish western restaurant, which she and Chris had visited before. Since they were on their first date, she wanted to take this opportunity to tell Stephen about Chris.
After finding a table in a quiet corner, Stephen looked around the restaurant and was amazed at its interior design.
âNice place. Are you a regular here?â Stephen asked.
Nina shook her head. âIâve only been here twiceâwith Chris.â
Stephenâs heart skipped a beat when Nina mentioned Chrisâ name.
It was an inexplicable feeling. Stephen understood how difficult it was for Nina to forget about Chris, and he also knew how Chris had loved Nina before he passed away.
Stephen was overwhelmed with mixed feelings. âIâm sure he has earned a special place in your heart!â
Nina nodded. âHis memory will live forever. I know heâll want me to stay happy for the rest of my life. That was why he wanted you to take care of me for three years.â
She continued, âStephen, I accepted your roses yesterday, and I would consider todayâs dinner our first date, but thereâs something I have to tell you. I donât know if youâll agree to help me, but I must say it.â
âGo ahead.â Stephen gave her a serious look.
âI can be your girlfriend, but I have a condition. Chrisâ death has been haunting me since the day he passed away. I want to know the truth. Could you help me investigate?â
Thatâs the least I could do for Chris.
Stephen kept mum for a moment. âI understand how you felt. Had Chris not given me his heart, I would have been dead. Itâs my responsibility to find out the cause of his death. I also want to thank him for allowing me to take care of you. Thanks to him, I found the love of my life!â
Nina was relieved to hear that. She responded with a smile and said, âIâll leave this to you then. Iâll consider becoming your girlfriend once youâve completed the investigation.â
Stephen frowned. âYou donât need to feel obliged to be with me. Iâm willing to take up the mission and expect nothing in return! I donât want you to be with me just because you feel you need to repay my kindness. I believe youâll see what a good man I am if we spend more time together.â
Nina froze for a moment. She did not expect Stephen to say something like that.
âIâm not going to agree to be your girlfriend just because youâve offered to help find out Chrisâ cause of death. Iâm willing to commit myself to this relationship because I think youâre a nice man!â
I take relationship matters very seriously.
A faint smile appeared on Stephenâs face. He gazed into her eyes and said, âDo you think Iâm a nice man?â
âOf course. I wouldnât have agreed with dining with you if you werenât.â
