Chapter 1859 A Delicate Agreement
Faye stammered, âN-Nothing. I guess I mightâve been confused.â
Grandpaâs memories could be fuzzy from old age. Everyoneâs so excited to open the treasure; Iâd rather not pour cold water on them.
Levant suggested, âLetâs find Steven and persuade him then!â
âAll right!â
With that, he set off to find Steven, with Juan, Davin, and Faye in tow.
At that moment, Steven was in the middle of arranging men to search for Zayden. When he heard Levantâs offer, his eyes lit up.
He asked, âSo youâre willing to collaborate with me then?â
âYes! We want to bring a close to everything as soon as possible and return to Y City.â
Seeing that they had come on good terms, Steven voiced the question he was more concerned about. âHow should we split the treasure?â
âWeâll split the treasure evenly between the families!â Juan blurted. Levant and Faye did not protest.
Steven mulled over his suggestion and found it fair.
Sallyâs dating Kyle, after all. The Seets might very well be my in-laws in the future. Plus, Lucas has been plotting to regain the key to the treasure. Itâs better to agree to their terms now than risk losing everything to Lucas.
âWhen will you set your plans in motion?â Steven asked.
Levant replied, âOnce you agree!â
Steven paused before stating, âAll right! Iâll lead some men to the treasure cave right now, and the lot of you can fetch Zayden. Weâll meet up at the cave afterward.â
The negotiations ended smoothly. On the way to fetch Zayden, Davin fretted incessantly. âDo you think a mishap will happen? Will Zayden be okay after giving three drops of blood? I hope it doesnât affect his body.â
Levant teased, âWhy would anything happen to his body? When did you become such a worrywart, Davin?â
Davin retorted, âMy son is involved. Of course, Iâm worried!â
Levant gave him the side-eye in response before quickening his footsteps with everyone else. Upon noticing that no one was paying attention to him, Davin stopped blabbering.
They arrived at the cabin and informed Sheila about Stevenâs agreement. âIâm going too. I want to be with my son,â she declared while hugging her son.
âSure! We can all go together.â Davin approved of her decision.
Sensing everyoneâs curiosity regarding the treasure, Evan suggested that everyone tag along.
Draven voiced, âMr. Seet, Jeremy and Jensen are still keeping an eye on Shermaine in the town.â
Then, Davin suggested, âEvan, why donât we have them bring Shermaine over? She might be of some use against the other three Guardians of Daemonic Mount when we open the treasure.â
âMr. Davin, you donât need to worry about that. Mr. Seet has sent Darius to inform them about this,â came Dravenâs reply.
Davin swept his gaze across the group, and Darius was indeed missing. Evan has everything planned out.
âShall we set off, then?â
âYes. Letâs go!â
Under Evanâs orders, they rushed toward the treasure cave. Their hastiness piqued Zaydenâs and Joyâs curiosity.
Zayden asked, âWhat are we doing, Daddy?â
Davin glanced at his son, unsure of what to reply. Zaydenâs scared of pain. Heâll bawl if I tell him that weâre drawing his blood later.
Sheila shared his sentiments, so she answered smilingly, âWeâre going to do something meaningful, Zayden. Do you promise to be an obedient and brave boy later?â
Zaydenâs eyes widened as he nodded eagerly and replied, âOkay!â
Meanwhile, Joy scrutinized the mountainous terrain around them. Leaning against Nicole, she whispered, âMommy, Iâve been here before!â
Surprised, Nicole asked, âWhen?â
Joy paused to think and responded, âA long time ago, I think. I definitely remember coming here in the past.â
