âDid you get the money?", I asked Guzman worried.
Of course I already thought about asking my dad if he would help but the last time that I've asked him for money in such a serious situation was when Nano needed money to be left alone by the people he knew from jail who first helped him and then threatened him. So I guessed that if he doesn't help his own family, he wouldn't help someone else.
âYes, finally. I've called so many business friends of my dad's and they all didn't care about him anymore. But your dad was so nice and gave us all the money that we needed for him", Guzman sighed relieved and hugged me happily.
I hesitated, âWait, my dad gave you all the money?"
âYes, isn't that great? You've got no idea how thankful we are."
âYeah, that's great", I repeated his words.
He gave money to a friend but not to his family.
âWhat are you so nervous about?", I whispered at Carla who wouldn't stop moving her leg nervously.
âI'm just thinking about my dad. You know his watches are very precious especially one with documents from work. I'm worried about him."
I promised Nano not to talk to her. Why did I do that? I felt horrible being just quiet.
âDo you've got an idea who could have done that? Have I been mean to someone? It has to be someone we know. You know that we've got a good security system", she wondered.
Wow, I'm such a bad friend. And how could they be so stupid? Nano said that Marina met Carla at her house once after all those years that they ignored each other. That's so obvious.
âNo", I smiled, âYou haven't hurt anyone. I've got no idea. I would never do that as you know and I thought we could trust everyone else around us."
âI've thought that, too."
âWhat's wrong with Polo and I? Is it about the stupid kiss?"
âNo, I really don't care about that", she chuckled amused, âYou're my best friend. I've told you that it's fine. He's just.. It's over for me. And he wouldn't accept it. That's all."
âDead things are dead, huh?"
âSingle and free. I thought summer would be different", she sighed.
âYou've got Christian still. And we're going to spend a lot of time, I promise."
âI've seen you talking to Carla", Marina walked over to me when Carla left to talk to Christian, âDid she say something?"
âYou mean that she said that she's suspicious? I know that she thinks that you've done it and I'm not surprised by this suspicion. I watched her talking to you about it earlier. And I found out by Nano, Marina."
âYou.. what?", she gasped, âEm, please don't tell anyone and please don't hate me. You're my best friend. I couldn't stand the situation if you hated me."
âMarina, Marina, calm down", I said quietly, âI would never hate you. There's no need to worry. Nano didn't want to tell me but I've found the watches and I know who they belong to, of course. But I promised him to not say anything about it since he promised me that nothing would happen to you. I hate to do that to Carla but I can't do that to my own family and your family who basically helped me every time that I've needed someone. Or when my dad let me down. I've got to pay you back somehow", I chuckled lightly although the situation wasn't quite happy.
âI'm pregnant, Em", she suddenly blurted out without relating to the actual topic, âOh my.. I've just said that. Did someone hear us? No one should know about it."
âIt's Nano's, isn't it?", I asked slowly still being shocked.
She nodded slowly.
âFuck", I breathed, âI mean, it's great. The news are great but under those circumstances.. Are you alright? How did he react?"
âIt's alright I guess. We've decided to run away", her lips formed a amorous smile, âWe really want to do this. I know I didn't treat Samu as he deserves to be treated and I'm so sorry for that. He's too good. But we can't go back in time anymore."
âIt's alright, Marina, don't worry about it", I tried to comfort her again.
To be honest, I wasn't so sure if I meant it like that. She's hurt my little brother. So did Nano. And I'm kind of angry about it. When it comes to Samu, I try to be protective. But now that it's basically him against Nano. I was afraid of what's going to happen.

When I arrived at Ander's place, I was blessed with a good view. He was watering the garden shirtless and kind of showered in the water to cool off.
âHey", I smiled happily about the view that he gave me and the fact that this was the first moment that I didn't think of my dad, Marina or my brothers.
âYou made it", he looked at me with a kinky smile, âShould we get in?"
I nodded but still had to make sure that we were alone, âAnd you're sure that your parents aren't here?"
Without answering my question, he just walked up to me and immediately kissed me longing, took my shirt off.
âWell, I guess they're not", I grinned playfully and bit my lip when he pressed his body closer against mine and traced down my sides.
âYou know what? I love you, Emilia Santiago Dominguez, and nothing will change that."
