âBe aware, this school is anything but normal", I tell Nadia, my good friend, before the lesson should start.
âHey, uhh.. usually I sit there", Guzman said awkwardly motioning his hand to where Nadia sat.
Of course, she was too shy to speak.
âI told her to sit here, she's my friend and new so I wanted to help her out."
âAnd why would she sit on my chair then?"
âCalm down, Guzman. You can sit with Lu", Marina told him in annoyance, she sat next to me.
Usually it was Marina, Guzman, me and Ander who sat next to each other.
âWell, come on, Ander."
Ander already wanted to follow Guzman, when I looked at him seriously.
âI'll see you after school", he told Guzman uncomfortable, who still had a mad look on his face.
âYou know I can also sit with Samu and Chris, right?", Nadia told me feeling guilty.
âNad, it's not your fault. Guzman can be an idiot. Don't worry."
âThe waiter?", Guzman laughed after Samu had told everyone about himself.
Everyone except Marina, Nadia, Christian and I laughed, even Ander. I pushed my elbow into his ribs.
âHey, no need to hit me", he hissed at me.
âWell, I think so. That's my brother you're laughing about."
âHalf brother, luckily", Guzman spoke from the other row.
âTake care of what you're saying!"
After the lesson, during which most of the others laughed about my three friends, I had decided to have lunch with Nadia. Ander was talking to Guzman at one of the higher tables. Carla and Lu were focusing on Polo.
âWho's the kind of leader there?", Christian asked me who sat with Samu next to us.
âBelieve me when I say it doesn't matter. You don't have to be friends with them."
âShouldn't you think of something else? For example the fact that you've got no idea of how to speak English", Samu agreed with me.
âI can help you", I offered Chris.
âWhat? No, What do you mean? A little bit. I've got everything under control. Give me your notes and I'll translate them with google", he replied easily.
âYou don't get my notes. You shouldn't even be here because you're taking this place away from someone else who deserves to be here", Nadia sighed disappointed.
âDo you think I'm here to study? No, no, no. I'm here to get to know people who are going to be the leaders of tomorrow and those are not the ones with the best grades, baby. The best ones are those with the best friends", he grinned standing up to talk to Guzman and the others.
âI'll better follow him", I sighed knowing that this wouldn't end like he thought.
I walked to Ander and turned his face to kiss him.
âHey, baby", he smiled happily and laid his arm around my waist.
âOur dream couple is complete again, huh?", Guz smiled but stopped himself when Chris spoke to Carla.
âWhich party? There's going to be a party? Hey, I'm Christian."
âYes, hello. Do you speak Spanish?", Lu was the usual Lu again, laughed with Polo and Carla.
âI'm talking to my friends", Guzman intervened unfriendly.
âLeave him alone, Guz, he's only being nice", I warned him.
âOh, sorry. Just a second, are you single? If yes, you're getting my name and my number.
âOh, yes, absolutely", Lu acted as if she was interested.
âSo Christian", he began, added his number.
âThose idiots are fucking annoying me", Guzman whispered Ander and walked around him to be closer to Chris.
âQuit being so mean, Guzman. Samu is my brother and the others are my friends so just stop it, alright?"
âHow could they be accepted to our school?"
âOh not this video. Guys, look at this", Lu laughed when she found a video of him on Instagram.
âHey, I'll show you-", Guzman started friendly but Lu squeaked when he touched her side by accident.
âLu, don't be so mean", Carla helped me, âDon't listen to my friend."
âHey, what about that party?"
âMy sister's party is private just like our conversations", Guzman couldn't stop.
Polo tried to say something, too, but Carla had got him under control.
âAh, I understand. And with whom do I have to talk to be invited to the party? You'll have lots of fun on a party with me."
âYou've been brainwashed, huh?", Guzman went on but Ander stepped in.
âLeave him alone, Guzman. How many times do we have to say this? It's Marina's party and she can invite whoever she wants to see there. No one's done anything to you."
âAnder, seriously? Don't let her command you all the time", I heard Guzman behind me talking to Ander after I had left to sit with Nadia again.
I rolled my eyes. They were my friends and I loved all of them but since they had heard that there are going to be new students at our school who weren't rich, they behaved like completely spoiled brats although they can be so nice. Plus, Guzman tends to be jealous of Ander and I sometimes. I think it's because him and Lu have some troubles often enough and we're happy.
âThose friends of yours seem nice", Nadia said when I was next to her again, she had heard most of our conversation or better called discussion.
âGuzman is a special type of person and Lu tries to be the best all the time. They're going to be friendly. Just give them some time."
