Chapter 12: "Romantic Moments"

The next morning arrived, and it was early for the couple to wake up. However, Vaidehi's sleep was being disturbed, while Viyansh, who was already awake, was admiring her, thinking about the events that were going to take place that day.

Vaidehi: "Ummm Ansh, paas aaiye na thand lag Rahi hai." (Come closer, it's getting cold)

She said, nuzzling her face in his chest, with her hands around his torso and legs entangled with his. He smiled.

Viyansh: "Biwi, I need to go to the gym."

Vaidehi: "Ek din nahi jayenge toh kum hot nahi ho jayenge, so jaiye aur mujhe bhi sone dijiye." (If you won't go for a day, you won't get less hot, so sleep and let me sleep)

He chuckled but then tightly hugged her, and they both drifted back to sleep. After some time, as usual, Viyansh was the first one to wake up. After getting freshened up, he went for his most difficult task: waking up his wife. He sat beside her and gently caressed her hair.

Viyansh: "Jaan, uthiye. (get up)"

Vaidehi: "Umm hmm."

Viyansh: Such a sleepy head you are, biwi. Get up.

She kept her head on his lap, making him smile, and hid her face in his belly.

Vaidehi: "Uth rhi hu na, kya jaldi hai. (Yeah waking up, what's so hurry)"

Viyansh: "Uth ja, Mera bachcha." (Get up my baby)

She snapped her head to look at him and then again hid her blushing face in his belly.

Vaidehi: "Don't call me that."

Viyansh: "What? Mera bachcha?" (My baby?)

Vaidehi: "Hmm."

Viyansh: "Why?"

Vaidehi: "Mujhe sharam aati hai." (I feel shy)

He chuckled and leaned down to kiss her on the cheeks.

Viyansh: "Ok, Mera bachcha, ab utho. Go and get ready, remember Papa and Vihaan are going to Delhi today."

She laid down on her back, her head still on his lap, took his hand, and began fidgeting with his fingers. Looking up at him, she asked.

Vaidehi: "Anshh."

Viyansh: "Hmm."

Vaidehi: "Main kya soch rhi thi." (What I was thinking)

Viyansh: "Hmm."

Vaidehi: "Aaj ghar pe koi nahi hoga." (Today, no one will be at home)

Viyansh: "Hmm."

Vaidehi: "Toh kisi ko kuch pata bhi nahi chalega." (So no one will know anything)

Viyansh: "Kya?" (What?)

Vaidehi: "Agar aaj main nahi nahau toh???" (If I don't take a shower today)

He glared at her, and she giggled.

Viyansh: "Yaha mujhe laga ki meri biwi kuch romantic bolegi, lekin nahi, tumhe toh ye bakwas karni hai."

(Here I thought my wife would say something romantic, but no, you want to talk nonsense)

Vaidehi: "Toh main nahi nahau??" (So should I not take a shower)

Viyansh: Shut up.

Vaidehi: "Ansh, mujhe nahana nahi pasand, boring lagta hai." (I don't like to bathe, it feels boring)

Viyansh: "Should I help you?"

Leaning towards her, he spoke, and she blushed.

Vaidehi: "Chup kariye." (shut up)

He scooped her up in his arms and proceeded towards the washroom, gently placing her at the door.

Viyansh: "Goo"

Vaidehi: "Ansh ek baar sochiye na, nahi nahau kya?? Ek hi din please"

(Ansh, just think once, what if I don't bathe today? Just for one day, please.)

Viyansh: "Tum bhi socho na mera bachcha main help Karu kya ek hi din??" (You also think, my baby, should I help for just one day?)

Her cheeks flushed red once more. He chuckled and playfully pinched her cheeks.

Viyansh: "Subah subah entertainment karva lo bas tumse". (Have some morning entertainment, just with you.)

She pouts and asked.

Vaidehi: "main entertainment hu aapka??" (Am I your entertainment??)

He wrapped his arms around her neck and bent down to match her height.

Viyansh: "ha jo ho tum hi ho, mera entertainment, mera bachcha, meri jaan, meri biwi, ab jao Varna aata hu main tumhare sath andar." (Yes, whatever you are, you are my entertainment, my baby, my life, my wife, now go, or else I'll join you inside.)

He turned her, pushed her inside, and she closed the door.

Again she opened and asked.

Vaidehi: "Ansh ek baar... (Just..)"

Viyansh: "Ruko tum.. (Wait you..)"

He stepped forward, she giggled and locked the door, leaving him chuckling at her antics.

After a while, she came out and performed her basic skincare routine, then called Viyansh.

Vaidehi: "Ansh yaha aaiye. (Come here)"

He entered the closet, and she handed him the vermillion box. Gently, he applied the vermillion to her hairline and kissed her forehead. She turned around, and he embraced her from behind, resting his chin on her head.

Viyansh: "Jaan aap kuch bhool nahi rahi??" (are you not forgetting something?)

Vaidehi: "Kya?? Sab toh thik hai" (What? Everything seems fine.)

Viyansh: "I'm not talking about your appearance."

Vaidehi: "Then??"

He turned her towards him, pressed her against the nearest wall, and began planting tender kisses on her neck. She gripped his t-shirt tightly around his waist.

Vaidehi: "An..ansh"

Viyansh: "Didn't you promise me something??"

In a husky voice, he uttered, making her blush.

Vaidehi: "Subah subah yehi sab aata hai aapke dimaag me?" (Is this the first thing that comes to your mind in the morning?)

He looked at her.

Viyansh: "Ha toh tumne promise Kiya tha, c'mon give me my kiss." (Well, you did promise)

He took her hands, gently placing them behind his neck. Pulling her close by her waist, he held her tightly, and she stood on her toes. Closing,his eyes, and she smiled.

Vaidehi: "Mujhe bachcha bolte hai, but you are behaving like a kid." (You call me a kid, but you are behaving like one.)

Viyansh: "I'm waiting."

She, too, closed her eyes and pressed her lips against his. Sucking on his lower lip, she ignited a spark, prompting him to take the lead. After a while, both had to pull back, gasping for breath. He gazed at her with immense love, and she blushed under the intensity of his stare. Quickly, she covered his eyes with her hands, and he chuckled.

Viyansh: "Ye kya kar rhi ho tum Biwi??" (What are you doing)

Vaidehi: "Don't look at me with those eyes."

Viyansh: "Why? and kon rokega mujhe?" (Why? and who will stop me?)

Vaidehi: "Mee, because I... I feel as if something will explode in my stomach and my cheeks burns. Mujhe sharam aati hai Ansh aapko pata toh hai." ( I feel shy, Ansh, you know that.)

He gently removed her hand, still holding her by the waist, and she lowered her eyes with a shy smile.

Viyansh: "And why are you so shy, Jaan?"

Vaidehi: "I don't know."

Viyansh: "That means I should not touch or kiss you, right??"

Glancing at him, she posed a question.

Vaidehi: "Maine Aisa kab kaha??" (When did I say that??)

He smirked.

Viyansh: "That means you like it."

Her cheeks again turned red

Vaidehi: "Ansh don't tease me."

He chuckled at her, and then they heard a knock on the door, prompting Viyansh to groan.

Viyansh: "Aa gaye mere romance ke dushman." (Here come the enemies of my romance.)

She giggles.

Viyansh: "Who's there?"

Virat: "Bhai, bhabhi, when are you guys coming??"

Viyansh: "Coming in 5 mins."

He left.

Viyansh glanced back at Vaidehi and once again claimed her lips. Initially taken aback, she tightly gripped his shoulders but soon relaxed and reciprocated the kiss. When he pulled back, she hid her face in the crook of his neck, and he embraced her, gently caressing her hair.

Viyansh: "two more to go."

Vaidehi: "No, only one, just now we kissed twice."

Viyansh: "I count it as One, my beautiful Biwi."

Vaidehi: "Bahaut bure hai aap. (you are too bad)"

She tightened her grip on him.

Viyansh: "Biwi, we need to go to a business party tonight, will you accompany me?"

She lifts her head and asked.

Vaidehi: "business party??  I thought we would spend the entire day together."

Viyansh: "I know, bachcha, but it's important, please."

Vaidehi: "What will I get in return?"

Viyansh: "Um, maybe some more kisses."

Her eyes widened, and her cheeks turned red.

Vaidehi: "I'm asking about my reward, not yours."

He chuckled and replied.

Viyansh: "As if you don't want."

Vaidehi: "Hugs are my thing, and kisses are yours."

Viyansh: "No, no, there's some other things that I want to do."

Her eyes widened again, and she once more hid her red face in his neck.

Vaidehi: "Subah subah kaise aisi baatein kar lete hai aap, bahut besharam hai aap." (How can you talk about such things early in the morning? You're very shameless.)

He twirled her twice and then began walking towards the door with her in his arms, hugging him.

Viyansh: "What I was talking about cuddles, tumne kya socha???" (what did you thought?)

Vaidehi: "Rehne dijiye sab samajhti hu main." (Leave it, I understand everything.)

Viyansh: "Chiii, dirty minded women."

Vaidehi: "Annnshhh."

He laughed at her.

Vaidehi: "Ab chodiye mujhe, aise hi leke chalenge kya??" (Now let me go, are you going to carry me like this?)

Viyansh: "I don't mind."

Vaidehi: "But I do, now put me down."

Viyansh: "And what will I get??"

Vaidehi: "This."

She pointed at her face and gave him her big smile with red cheeks. He sucked her cheek and put her down.

Viyansh: "Bahaut Cute hai Mera bachcha." (My baby is too cute)

He said, side-hugging her, and she smiled. Both of them came down, and he was about to go towards the breakfast table when she stopped him.

Viyansh: "What??"

She kept her hand on her waist and glared at him.

Vaidehi: "Pehle Pooja karne chaliye" (Perform the prayers first)

Then she dragged him towards the temple and they performed their morning prayer. She applied a Tika on his forehead, and they returned to the breakfast table with the Aarti ki thali in her hand. She gave Aarti and prashad (offerings) to Viraj, Virat, Vihaan, and Vikram. They started with their breakfast.

Vaidehi: "Sasurji aap vapas kab aayenge??" (Father in law  when will you be back??)

All four siblings chuckled at her choice of words, and Vikram glared at her

Vaidehi: "Boliye na Saurji." (Tell me)

Vikram: "I'll be back in 2 days Bahurani ji." (Daughter in law)

The entire family burst into laughter.

Virat: "Bhabhi maa, today you and Viyansh Bhai are alone, so what are your plans?"

Vaidehi: "Ji devarji Aaj shaam main aur mere pujniya Swami kisi party me jaane Wale hai." (Yes, brother in law, tonight my esteemed husband and I are going to a party.)

Viyansh glared at her, but she giggled along with the others.

Vihaan: "Dahi"

Vaidehi: "Ji Bhratashree" (Yes brother)

Vihaan: "Aaj mood bana liya hai tune sabka dimaag khane ka??" (Have you decided to eat everyone's brain today?)

Vaidehi: "Ji Bhratashree sahi samjha aapne." (Yes, Brother, you understood correctly.)

Virat and Viraj laughed and gave a high-five to Vaidehi.

Vaidehi: "Swami suniye aap... (Husband  listen to me...)"

Before she could say anything further, Viyansh stuffed her mouth with a bite of Paratha and smacked her on the head.

Viyansh: "Chup chap breakfast Karo tum."  (Eat your breakfast quietly.)

She chewed it and said.

Vaidehi: "Sasurji dekhiye, Swami mujhe maar rahe hai. (Sasurji, look, Swami is hitting me.)"

Vikram: "Hmm and I guess next is me."

Vaidehi: "Sasurjiiiii"

She said in a dramatic way

Vikram: "Laddo chup. (Laddo, be quiet.)"

He responded by stuffing a piece of apple into her mouth, and she pouted. Thus, the Singhania family's breakfast was completed with a lot of teasing and laughter.

Now it was time for Vikram and Vihaan to leave. Vaidehi side-hugged Vikram and said.

Vaidehi: "Popsy, I will miss you."

Vikram: "Mee too my ladoo."

He gave her a peck on her forehead and ruffled her hair.

Vihaan: "But I will not miss you."

Vaidehi: "I know you will be busy searching for a girlfriend for yourself, right?"

She asked and winked at him, leaving his jaw dropped at her statement. He was about to smack her on the head when Viraj pulled her back.

Viraj: "Bhabhi maa hai vo humari, you can't hit her."

Virat: "And vaise bhi she's correct, you should find a girlfriend for yourself. "

Three of them laughed at him, and he glared at them.

Vihaan: "Bhai dekho na kya bakwaas kar rahe hai ye teeno." (bro look what nonsense they are saying)

Viyansh: "But Vihu they are not wrong."

Vihaan: "Papa chaliye Varna ye circus chalta hi rahega." (Dad lets go, this circus will not stop)

Vikram laughed, and then they bid goodbye and left. Even Virat and Viraj left for their friend's place.

Vaidehi turned towards Viyansh, who was standing there with his hands inside his pocket. She covered her head with her dupatta and, dramatically blinking her eyes, asked him.

Vaidehi: "Swami ab aap kya karna pasand karenge kya seva Karu main aapki??" (what kind of service would you like? What should I do for you?)

Viyansh: "Hmm seva karni hai tumhe meri ??" (do you want to serve me?)

Vaidehi: "Jii (yes)"

Viyansh: "Okay toh yaha nahi kamre me chalo." (Okay, let's go to the room then.)

Vaidehi: "Aisi bhi kya seva Leni hai Swami??" (What kind of service do you want, Swami?)

Viyansh: "Biwi tum toh ruko"  (Wife, wait.)

He was about to hold her, but she ran from there laughing, and he ran behind her. Just 2-3 steps, he slid his hand around her waist and lifted her up, twirling her around.

Viyansh: "Chalo seva karna ab."  (Come, let's do the service now.)

He carried her in a bridal style and headed towards their room. Upon entering the room, he gently placed her down on her feet, and she quickly went and stood on the bed.

Vaidehi: "Ansh bataiye na hum kya kare mujhe bore ho Raha hai." (tell me, I'm getting bored.)

Viyansh sat on the couch with his phone, scrolling through it.

Viyansh: "Hmm tumhe kya karna hai." (what do you want to do?)

She placed her hands on her waist and glared at him as he was not paying attention to her.

Vaidehi: "Ansh, hum bahar chale?" (shall we go out?)

Viyansh: "Hmm"

Vaidehi: "Ansh, kal main nahi nahau chalega?" (can I skip bathing tomorrow?)

Viyansh: "Hmm"

Vaidehi: "Ansh, main yaha se gir jau?" (what if I fall from here?)

Viyansh: "Hmm"

She got fed up and shouts.

Vaidehi: "Annnnsshhh"

He looked at her and smiled.

Viyansh: "Just 2 mins jaan"

Vaidehi: "Aap mujhe aise utha ke laye hai ye karne?? Shaam ko party me le jayenge aur ab bhi phone me busy hai, aapke pass mere liye time hi nahi hai, don't talk to me."

(Have you brought me up like this to do such things?? You'll take me to the party in the evening, and even now you're busy on the phone, you don't have time for me at all, don't talk to me.)

She was about to get down from the bed when he quickly lifted her up in his arms and sat on the bed with her on his lap.

Vaidehi: "Now what??"

Viyansh: "Firstly stop being cute."

Vaidehi: "I'm angry, not cute."

Viyansh: "Ek hi baat hai biwi" (It's the same thing)

She pouted, and he pecked her pout.

Vaidehi: "Ok I will count this as your 2nd kiss"

Viyansh: "but that was just a peck."

Vaidehi: "This is your punishment for not listening to me."

Viyansh: "No issues, I still have 1 kiss left, and after that, you will kiss me. I promise you that."

Vaidehi: "We'll see that."

Viyansh: "definitely biwi."

He winks, and she looks on the other side but with a shy smile.

Viyansh: "Okay, I'm sorry, ab batao kya karna hai??"

She smiles.

Vaidehi: "Umm, abhi toh let's play any board game and then we will prepare lunch together, house helpers ko chutti de dete hai."

Viyansh: "Done."

Then they spent their time playing and preparing their lunch. Vaidehi was cooking, and Viyansh was just irritating and teasing her. They had their lunch and watched TV for some time.

Viyansh: "Okay bachcha, let's go and get ready for the party."

Vaidehi: "Now???"

Viyansh: "Yess, come now."

She stretched her hands.

Vaidehi: "I know you love carrying me in your arms, so here I'm giving you this opportunity."

Viyansh: "Drama Kara lo bas. (just want to do drama)"

He lifted her in a bridal style, and then they entered their room.

Vaidehi: "Ansh, what should I wear??"

Viyansh: "Wait, I have something for you."

He ran and came back with a packet in his hand and forwarded it to her.

Viyansh: "Go and get ready fast."

Vaidehi: "Okay."

She went to the closet, and Viyansh decided to change in the room itself. He took his suit and then changed his shirt when Vaidehi shouted.

Vaidehi: "Annnssshhh"

He ran inside the closet.

Viyansh: "What happened?"

Vaidehi: "Ye kya laye hai aap? (What did you bring?)"

Viyansh: "Saree"

Vaidehi: "Exactly why??"

Viyansh: "Why? You didn't like it??"

Vaidehi: "Ansh saree achchi hai par mujhe pehente huye dekha hai kya kabhi aapne, mujhe aata hi nahi hai kaise pehnu main ye???"

(Ansh, the saree is nice, but have you ever seen me wearing one? I have no idea how to put it on.)

He looked at her for a minute and burst out laughing.

Vaidehi: "Annshhh"

Viyansh: "Ok, ok, I'm sorry. Do one thing, wear this blouse and underskirt, and then I'll help you put on the saree."

Vaidehi: "Aapko aati h? (You know that?)"

Viyansh: "Internet yaar biwi, ab jao. (now, go)"

Entering the washroom, Vaidehi left Viyansh alone in the room as he prepared for the day in his white shirt, black trousers, blazer, along with his wristwatch, some cologne, and shiny black shoes. He then decided to watch videos on how to drape a saree. After 30 minutes, Vaidehi had still not come out.

Viyansh: "Biwi, I know why you are not coming outside, but okay, I'll close my eyes, and you can come out, okay???"

She didn't reply.

Viyansh: "Also, I will not tease you, Jaan. Please, come out now."

Vaidehi: "Pakka you will not tease me?" (Promise)

Viyansh (smiling): "Promise."

Upon emerging from the washroom, she noticed that he had closed his eyes, and a smile appeared on her face as she realized how significant her comfort was to him.

Vaidehi: "Ansh, you... You can open your eyes."

Viyansh: "No, I'm fine. I don't want you to feel uncomfortable."

Vaidehi: "Ansh, you can never make me feel uncomfortable aur band aankhon se kaise saree pehnayenge??" (And how will you drape the saree with closed eyes?)

He gradually opened his eyes and gazed at her; her face turned red, and she lowered her gaze. Taking the saree from her hand without uttering a word, he adjusted the phone near the mirror. Then, he played the video and began following the steps.

Viyansh: "Take this and tuck it."

She complied with his instructions. He then arranged her pleats and instructed her to tuck them. After that, he adjusted the other end of the saree on her shoulder and pinned it. True to his words, he didn't touch her to tease her. Finally, she was ready in the saree, and he made her look at herself in the mirror. The red saree was enhancing her beauty. He back-hugged her, placing his chin on her shoulder, and asked, looking at her through the mirror.

Viyansh: "Umm, jaan kya main tumhe taiyaar kar sakta hu???" (can I get you ready???)

She smiled.

Vaidehi: "Saree pehna di hai toh baaki bhi aap hi kar dijiye." (You've already put on the saree, so you might as well do the rest too.)

He seated her in front of the mirror and proceeded to help her with the accessories. He adorned her with earrings, bangles, while the nuptial chain was already around her neck. He applied some kohl to her eyes, followed by vermillion, and lastly, lipstick. As a final touch, he took some kohl on his finger and applied it behind her ears.

Viyansh: "Kahi meri hi Nazar na lag jaye." (Just to make sure I don't cast an evil eye on you.)

She blushed.

She was about to start braiding her hair, but he interrupted her.

Viyansh: "Let them be open; I like it that way."

Vaidehi: "Exactly, you like them, so only you have the right to see them. I don't want anybody to see my hair at that party."

Viyansh: "But then they will get another view."

Vaidehi: "What?"

Viyansh: "That tiny waist of yours."

Her eyes widened, and she blushed.

Vaidehi: "Ansh aapne kaha tha you won't tease me."

Viyansh: "Ok ok sorry."

She stood up, twirled around, and inquired.

Vaidehi: "Kaisi lag rahi hoon main? ( How do I look?)"

Viyansh: "Bilkul meri." (Completely mine.)

She lowered her gaze in shyness.

Viyansh: "There's only one issue."

Vaidehi: "What?"

Viyansh: "The lipstick is too dark."

Before she could comprehend what he said, he slammed his lips onto hers, kissing her passionately while pulling her close by her bare waist, sending shivers down her spine. She closed her eyes tightly. Pulling back, he looked at her; her face, ears, and neck were turned red, and her eyes remained closed. Leaning towards her ear, he whispered.

Viyansh: "Sorry, I forgot to bring one thing, but next time I'll for sure buy that for you."

Breathing heavily, she was affected by the proximity but managed to ask.

Vaidehi: "What?"

Viyansh: "A waist chain, because this tiny milky white waist of yours is driving me crazy and looks empty, isn't it?"

He whispered and bit her earlobe. She quickly hugged him, hiding her face, and he could sense her heavy breathing. He caressed her back, kissed her forehead, and asked.

Viyansh: "You didn't compliment me, how do I look?"

Vaidehi: "Bilkul mere." (Exactly like mine.)

She said and kissed his cheeks.

Viyansh: "Copycat."

She giggles.

Viyansh: "Chalein??" (Shall we?)

Vaidehi: "Jii (Yes)"
