Chapter 20: "My Man"

Whispers of RomanceWords: 22259

The following morning brought about an unusual occurrence: Vaidehi woke up before Viyansh. He had overslept, weighed down by worries about her well-being, but having her in his embrace had a calming effect on him. Vaidehi gazed fondly at her husband, a radiant smile gracing her lips. She rested her chin gently on his chest, taking in the captivating sight of his features. She affectionately pressed her lips to his forehead, a tender gesture that brought a smile to her face. Feeling bold, she leaned in to kiss his closed eyelids gently. Seeing that he remained undisturbed, she continued, planting soft kisses on his nose, chin, and cheeks. Her cheeks flushed with a mix of shyness and excitement as she contemplated her next move. Summoning her courage, she leaned in slowly and placed a delicate peck on his lips. With still no response from him, she couldn't help but smile mischievously. Emboldened by his peaceful slumber, she began peppering his face with a flurry of kisses, focusing mainly on his lips. Each gentle kiss was accompanied by a soft giggle that escaped her lips. Eventually, she playfully tousled his hair, thoroughly enjoying the rare opportunity to shower him with affection while he slept soundly.

Vaidehi: "Hayyy, Mere Ansh aap itne pyare kyu hai?" (Ohh, my Ansh, why are you so adorable?)

She leaned in to give him another peck on the lips, but before she could, he swiftly turned her over, hovering above her. Her eyes widened in surprise, caught off guard by his sudden move. A mischievous smirk played on his lips as he looked down at her, enjoying the moment.

Vaidehi: "Aa..aap jage the?" (Uh... were you awake?)

Viyansh: "Sharam nahi aati, ek sote huye mard ka fayda uthati ho?" (Aren't you ashamed of taking advantage of a sleeping man?)

She gazed into his eyes and wrapped her arms around his neck.

Vaidehi: "Nahi aati, kyuki ye sota hua mard mera hai, Mere Patidev, My Man." (No, because this sleeping man is mine, My Husband, My Man.)

He smiled, kissed her forehead, and then shifted back to his position, embracing her in his arms.

Viyansh: Jaldi kaise uthi?" (How did you wake up so early?)

Vaidehi: "Nind khul gayi, aur ab chaliye aap bhi uth jaiye Varna office ke liye late ho jayenge." (I woke up because I couldn't sleep anymore. Now you also get up, or else you'll be late for the office.)

Viyansh: "I won't be going to the office today."

She gazed at him before gently cradling his face in her hands.

Vaidehi: "Ansh main thik hu, aap jaiye office." (Ansh, I'm fine, you go to the office.)

Viyansh: "Tum toh thik ho but main thik nahi hu na." (You may be fine, but I'm not.)

She glanced at him, her expression filled with concern.

Vaidehi: "Kya hua aapko?" (What happened to you?)

Viyansh: "Deficiency"

Vaidehi: "Huh?"

Viyansh: "Yes Deficiency of Vitamin biwi"

She shot him a glare, and he responded by pulling her closer and planting a series of playful bites and kisses on her cheeks.

Viyansh: "I want to spend the day with you."

Vaidehi: "Alright, then I'll come with you to the office."

He gazed at her, perplexed.

Viyansh: "What will you do over there?"

Vaidehi: "Aapko Niharungi" (I'll just admire you.)

Viyansh: "Then no need to come."

Vaidehi: "Okay, okay, sorry. But I'll figure something out. Plus, we have to go for lunch as you promised, so it will save time."

Viyansh: "As you say, Your Highness."

Vaidehi: "Ok, Ab aap gym jaiye aur apni hot body ko aur hot banaiye." (Alright, now go to the gym and work on your hot body.)

He chuckled and headed to the gym. Meanwhile, she finished her morning walk and dressed herself in a stunning pastel blue suit with side cuts, paired with a floral dupatta draping over her left shoulder.

She was at the dressing table when Viyansh returned from the gym and went straight to the bathroom. About 15 minutes later, he emerged wearing only lowers and a towel draped around his neck, vigorously drying his wet hair with his bare upper body exposed. Viyansh's appearance grabbed Vaidehi's attention, prompting her to follow him into the closet. Leaning against the door, she couldn't help but gaze at him. As he looked for his shirt, he noticed her admiring glance, causing his cheeks to turn a shade of red.

Viyansh: "Biwi, stop ogling at me."

Vaidehi: "No, I won't. This is such a treat for my eyes."

Viyansh: "Sharam Karo thodi." (Have some shame.)

Vaidehi: "Kal raat aapne ki thi?" (Were you shy last night?)

He was taken aback by her bold responses, and his cheeks, neck, and ears flushed red as he observed the way she was openly admiring him. In a playful gesture, he tossed his towel towards her face, causing her to straighten up abruptly.

Vaidehi: "What's this? You can't block my view like that."

She pulled the towel from her face, but to her disappointment, he had already put on his shirt.

Vaidehi: "Paap lagega Mera view kharab karne ke liye huhh." (You'll be cursed for spoiling my view, huhh.)

After she moved from there back to the dressing table, he chuckled. Getting dressed, he approached her as she was braiding her hair. He back hugged her, placing his chin on her shoulder and planting gentle kisses on her cheeks.

Viyansh: "Biwi, tum bhi mujhe koi aisa view kyu nahi dikhati??" (Wife, why don't you show me such a view too?)

Her eyes widened, her face flushed crimson, and her mouth hung open in surprise. He smirked at her reaction and tightened his grip around her stomach, enjoying her flustered state.

Viyansh: "Kya hua bolo na." (What happened? Tell me.)

She gathered her composure, gently removed his hands from her stomach, and placed the vermillion box in front of him. Viyansh took the vermillion and applied it to her hairline, then tenderly kissed her forehead.

Viyansh: "Jawab toh do." (Give me an answer.)

He held her by waist.

Vaidehi: "Sharam nahi aati aapko aisi baatein bolte huye." (Aren't you ashamed of saying such things?)

Viyansh: "Kuch der pehle tumhe aayi thi?" (Weren't you feeling it a while ago?)

Vaidehi: "Offo Ansh late ho raha hai chaliye." (Oh Ansh, we're getting late, let's go.)

She wriggled free from his grip and dashed away, leaving Viyansh chuckling at her reaction, finding her adorable.

After breakfast, everyone made their way to the office in their own cars.Vaidehi accompanied Viyansh as they made their way to his cabin. Along the corridors, employees greeted them with "good morning," to which only Vaidehi responded while Viyansh merely nodded in acknowledgment. Sensing his lack of response, Vaidehi shot him a glare, prompting him to also wish them "good morning" before they entered their cabin.

Vaidehi: "Sabko greet karne se kya aapki hotness kum ho jayegi?" (Will your hotness decrease if you greet everyone?)

Viyansh: "Biwi yaar why are you so obsessed with me today?"

Vaidehi: "Hadd hai ab isme bhi takleef, you know what mujhe aana hi nahi chahiye tha yaha." (Seriously, this is too much now. You know what, I shouldn't have come here.)

He gently turned her around and guided her to sit on his office chair. Kneeling down in front of her, he looked up into her eyes with a playful glint, his hands resting on her waist.

Viyansh: "Ok ok I'm sorry."

He rotated the chair to reveal a surprise, leaving her astonished. On the wall hung a large portrait capturing a cherished moment from their wedding reception, depicting both of them radiating joy and love.

Vaidehi: "Ansh, what's this?"

Viyansh: "Yes, everybody should know about you, who is the actual boss of this cabin. I don't want a repeat of whatever happened that day."

They shared a loving gaze, inching closer for a kiss, but their moment was interrupted by a knock at the door. Viyansh sighed in frustration while Vaidehi couldn't help but giggle at his reaction. He signaled for the person to enter, revealing his PA, who informed him about the upcoming meeting scheduled to start in 10 minutes before exiting the room.

Viyansh: "Biwi, I have to leave, but what will you do until then?"

Vaidehi: "Do you have an extra laptop or tablet?"

Viyansh: "Yes."

Vaidehi: "Then I have a long list of things to watch."

He smiled and handed his iPad to her.

Viyansh: "I'll be back in a few hours mera bachcha."

Vaidehi: "I'll be waiting Mr. Hotty."

Viyansh: "Ok Mrs. Shorty."

Vaidehi: "Anshhh."

She whined, and he responded with a smile before kissing her forehead and departing. She occupied herself by watching her favorite dramas and random videos, but after a few hours, she grew bored and shut off the iPad.

Vaidehi: "Uff, this is boring. What to do now? Umm yeah, Raj and Veer."

She emerged from the cabin and began searching for her monkeys. After struggling for 10 minutes, she finally spotted Virat.

Vaidehi: "Veer"

She called out to him, and he turned around. As she approached, they began walking together.

Virat: "Bhabhi maa, I thought you and bhai were heading out somewhere."

Vaidehi: "Yes, but he's caught up in a meeting, so we'll go after that."

Virat: "Right, there's an important meeting today with foreign delegates."

Vaidehi: "And where's Raj?"

Virat: "He's interning under bhai, so he's with him."

Vaidehi: "Oh, I see."

They soon arrived at Virat's desk.

Virat: "Bhabhi maa, I need to finish this file quickly. You can sit with me if you want."

Vaidehi: "No, you focus on your work, Veer. I'll go and bother Popsy instead."

They both shared a giggle, and she affectionately patted his cheeks before leaving. She then proceeded to the Chairman's cabin, where she knocked on the door. Upon receiving permission, she entered the room.

Vaidehi: "Hello Mr. Chairman."

Vikram turned around and spotted her.

Vikram: "Hello Mrs. CEO, please have a seat. "

She giggled and hastily took the seat opposite him.

Vaidehi: "Mr. Chairman, I wanted to check on my husband. Is he performing up to the mark, or do I need to give him a little nudge?"

Vikram: "Mrs. Viyansh, your husband is exceeding my expectations."

Vaidehi: "Ahh, I had a feeling. He's fantastic, after all, he's Vaidehi's husband."

She praised herself, and they both burst into laughter.

Vikram: "Laddo, wanna have coffee?"

Vaidehi: "am I an idiot to refuse my Popsy?"

Vikram ordered two coffee.

Vaidehi: "Popsy, I hope I'm not disturbing you."

Vikram: "Oh, come on. I'm here just to sign documents; all the work is handled by your husband. In fact, I would suggest you should come regularly to the office so that Viyansh can work, and we both can gossip."

She laughed.

Vaidehi: "Popsy, you are getting lazy."

Vikram: "Whatever."

They spent their time enjoying coffee and chatting, and before she knew it, her time had passed. Vikram's PA then entered with some documents.

Vikram: "Oh, so the meeting is over?"

PA: "Yes, sir."

He reviewed the papers, signed them, and returned them to the PA.

Vikram: "Laddo, Viyansh is free now, and it's lunchtime."

Vaidehi: "Popsy, aap bhaga rahe hai mujhe?"  (are you trying to rush me?)

Vikram: "chup, Nautanki I know you two are going for lunch, I'm just informing you." (Quiet, drama queen)

She giggles.

Vaidehi: "Okay, Sasurji, I'll take my leave now."

Vikram: "Bye, Bahurani."

Both of them shared a laugh before Vaidehi left his cabin. On her way back to Viyansh's cabin, she was intercepted by three interns.

Raj: "Hello, ma'am."

Vaidehi: "Hi, Raj, isn't it?"

Raj: "Yes, and I want to apologize, ma'am."

Vaidehi: "Apologize for what?"

Raj: "For the way I spoke to you that day. I didn't know who you were."

Vaidehi: "No need to apologize."

Akshay (another intern): "Ma'am, we are also sorry for whatever happened that day."

Vaidehi: "Why are you guys apologizing? It wasn't your fault. Anyways, that Shruti is not bothering us anymore."

Sahil (Another intern): "Not bothering ma'am?? Ma'am, she's not just coming to the office on a regular basis; she's trying to befriend Viyansh sir."

Vaidehi: "Boys, she's just a friend."

Raj: "Oh, but ma'am, we don't like her vibes and the way she looks at sir."

Vaidehi: "vo chudail toh mujhe bhi nahi pasand." (I don't like that witch either.)

She unknowingly said that.

Raj: "Chudail???" (Witch?)

She smiled sheepishly.

Akshay: "By the way, ma'am, that witch is currently in Viyansh sir's cabin."

Vaidehi: "What??"

Sahil: "Yes, ma'am, in fact, she seemed very happy while heading towards Sir's cabin."

Vaidehi: "Us chudail ko toh main batati hu... and thank you guys." (I'll deal with that witch.)

On the other side, Viyansh had just returned from the meeting but didn't find Vaidehi in his cabin. Surprised, he sat down on his chair and contemplated calling her, only to realize her phone was lying on his desk.

Viyansh muttered to himself, "How careless are you, Jaana?"

He decided to check the CCTV footage and discovered that she was talking to some interns. As he stood up to go and meet her, Shruti entered his cabin without knocking, as she usually did.

Shruti: "Hi Viyansh"

He reluctantly resumed his seat, and she took a seat opposite him.

Viyansh: "Hello."

Shruti: "I must say the meeting went really well."

Viyansh: "Yeah."

Shruti: "Actually, I was thinking since the deal is going to be signed, we should celebrate it. Let's go for lunch."

Viyansh: "Actually, I..."

As Viyansh was about to respond to Shruti, the door suddenly swung open, and Vaidehi entered with a solemn expression on her face. Ignoring Shruti's presence entirely, she made her way to Viyansh and settled onto his lap, wrapping her arms around him in a tight embrace. Her actions spoke volumes, conveying her need for comfort and support in that moment.

Viyansh was taken aback by Vaidehi's unexpected actions, and Shruti's discomfort was evident. Nevertheless, he responded by enveloping Vaidehi in a comforting embrace, gently running his fingers through her hair.

Viyansh: "kya hua bachcha??(What's wrong, sweetheart?)"

Vaidehi whispered in his ear.

Vaidehi: "I was missing you, Ansh."

He was initially puzzled, considering they had only been apart for a few hours, but he smiled nonetheless and attempted to pull her back. However, she tightened her grip, indicating that she needed his comfort and reassurance.

Vaidehi: "Why are you trying to pull me away, rehne dijiye na mujhe aapke pass." (Why are you trying to move me? Let me stay close to you.)

Viyansh: "Jaan, we're not alone here."

Viyansh subtly signaled Vaidehi with his eyes, directing her attention towards Shruti. Vaidehi followed his gaze and noticed Shruti sitting there with a displeased expression.

Vaidehi: "Ohh Ms. Shruti Sharma, Hi."

Shruti flashed Vaidehi a forced smile,

Vaidehi: "Oh, I didn't realize you were there."

Shruti: "Clearly, that's evident."

Viyansh found himself in an awkward position, caught between his wife sitting on his lap and Shruti, who seemed somewhat displeased by Vaidehi's presence. He couldn't understand the reason behind Vaidehi's sudden change in behavior.

Vaidehi: "How are you?"

Shruti: "I'm good."

Viyansh: "Jaan, maybe you should stand up."

Vaidehi: "Why? Is there a problem?"

Viyansh: "No, but we're not alone."

Vaidehi: "Oh, Ansh, we're husband and wife. I don't think Shruti would mind. Right, Shruti?"

Shruti: "Yeah, I mean, why would I..."

Vaidehi: "But if you're uncomfortable, Ansh, I can ask her to leave, and then we can go for lunch. Just wait a moment."

Vaidehi stood up and walked over to Shruti, who also rose from her chair.

Vaidehi: "Shruti actually we r going...."

As she approached Shruti, Vaidehi suddenly stumbled and fell, letting out a sharp gasp of pain as she hit the ground.

Vaidehi: "Ahhh"

Viyansh: "Biwiii"

Viyansh swiftly rushed to her side, bending down beside her to check on her condition.

Viyansh: "Are you alright?"

Vaidehi: "No, Ansh, I can't walk. It's hurting too much."

He gently helped her to stand, but as soon as she put weight on her injured leg, she winced in pain and tears welled up in her eyes.

Viyansh: "How clumsy are you bachcha??"

Vaidehi: "Ansh, it hurts, and I'm hungry. Can we please leave?"

Viyansh gently lifted Vaidehi in his arms, cradling her carefully, and walked out of the room, completely ignoring Shruti's presence.

Shruti's voice echoed behind them, filled with resentment and determination.

Shruti: "This isn't over, Vaidehi. You'll pay for this. Viyansh belongs to me, and I won't let you forget it. Just wait and see."

Viyansh carefully maneuvered through the nearly empty office floor, and Vaidehi, feeling a bit shy, hid her face in his neck. As they reached the personal elevator, they descended to the ground floor. Once at his car, he gently seated her in the passenger seat before taking his place behind the wheel.

Viyansh: "Hmm ab batao kya drama tha ye?" (Now tell me, what was all that drama about?)

Vaidehi: "What drama Ansh?"

Viyansh: "Aww how innocent mera bachcha."

He glanced at her.

Viyansh: "I can distinguish between your real tears and fake ones, so spill the beans. I also know you're not really hurt."

She gave him a sheepish smile.

Vaidehi: "Main kya karti Ansh, mujhe aapke kuch interns ne bataya how she tries to befriend you and sticks around you all day. I couldn't bear it." (Ansh, what could I do? Some interns informed me)

Viyansh: "Don't you trust me?"

Vaidehi: "Hay hayy patidev kaisi baatein kar rahe hai aap, I trust you the most but us chudail ko bhi toh uski jagah dikhani thi na."

(Oh dear husband, what are you saying? I trust you completely, but that witch needed to be put in her place too.)

He chuckled at her reasoning.

Viyansh: "Jaan toh drama ki kya zaroorat thi aise hi keh deti main aise hi tumhe utha ke le aata." (Jaan, what was the need for the drama? You could have asked me and I would have just picked you up and brought you here.)

Vaidehi: "Karna padta hai Patidev, aap bahaut bhole hai aap nahi samjhenge."

(It was necessary, Husband. You're too innocent, you wouldn't understand otherwise.)

Viyansh: "Waahh." (Woww)

Once again, he chuckled at her antics.

Viyansh: "You and your logic, ohh God biwi."

Vaidehi: "Ab chaliye bhi I'm actually very hungry." (Let's go now)

He began driving, and shortly they arrived at a lavish restaurant for their lunch.

After some time, Viyansh was driving to drop Vaidehi back home, and she was sitting beside him, visibly upset. The anger on her face was evident.

Viyansh: "Biwi yaar sorry na, but tum bhi toh samjho na." (you should understand too.)

Vaidehi: "Kya ha kya samjhu main, lunch date bol ke mujhe khaas fuss khilaya, seriously Ansh salad you made me eat salad seriously."

(What should I understand? You called it a lunch date and then made me eat that bland salad. Seriously, Ansh, just salad?)

Viyansh: "Jaan yaar your monthly cycle is approaching, so it's not ideal for you to indulge in unhealthy food."

Vaidehi: "Stop giving excuses."

Vaidehi crossed her arms over her chest, turned her face away, and stared out of the window, visibly upset.

Viyansh: "It's not an excuse, Bachcha. You've been having mood swings since morning, and you've been paying extra attention to me."

She glared at him, pointing her forefinger accusingly.

Vaidehi: "Listen Mr. Viyansh Singhania I'm warning you dobara agar aapne mere pyaar ko mood swings ka naam Diya na toh maine... Ma.. maine haa maine apko hath nahi lagane dena mujhe vo bhi 1 mahine tak."

(Listen, Mr. Viyansh Singhania, if you dare to dismiss my affection as mood swings again, I swear... I... I won't let you touch me for a month!")

Viyansh: "Whattt??"

He snapped at her.

Vaidehi: "Yes, and dare you take me for any more stupid dates. I'm not going to come with you."

As they arrived at the Singhania mansion, he halted the car and she reached for the door handle, intending to exit. However, he swiftly drew her towards him, catching her off guard, and pressed his lips firmly against hers in a sudden, passionate kiss. Surprised by his sudden gesture, her eyes widened momentarily, but soon, her cheeks flushed with a rosy hue as she lowered her gaze shyly, unable to contain the rush of emotions his kiss evoked within her.

After pulling back, he cast her a smug smirk.

Viyansh: "Have I earned your forgiveness yet?"

Despite her lingering anger, she couldn't hide the blush still adorning her cheeks as she gazed at him.

Vaidehi: "Bilkul nahi, aur ab hatiye." (Not at all, now move aside)

She swiftly retrieved her hand, reaching for her phone, but he intercepted, snatching it away to halt her actions.

Viyansh: "Sorry na jaana."

Vaidehi: "No."

She swung open the door and descended from the car, but he quickly followed, intercepting her path to halt her.

Viyansh: "Please"

Vaidehi: "Phone dijiye" (Give the phone)

She extended her hand to reach for her mobile, but he playfully lifted it out of her reach. With a mischievous grin, he teased her to try and retrieve it.

Viyansh: "Take it if you can shorty."

Despite her attempts, she couldn't quite grasp it, causing him to chuckle at her frustration while she pouted in annoyance.

He leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on her pouting lips, causing her cheeks to flush with a shade of red.

Vaidehi: "Bahaut mazaa aa raha hai na aapko?" (You're enjoying this a lot, aren't you?)

Viyansh: "Haa bahaut, par agar meri jaan mujhe maaf kar degi toh aur mazaa aayega." (Yes, but it would be even more fun if my darling forgives me.)

Vaidehi: "In your dreams, and now please give me my phone I'm getting late."

Viyansh: "Please na bachcha meri baat toh samjho." (Please understand my point)

As she jumped for her phone, he playfully raised it higher. She reached out, but couldn't grasp it, causing her to lose balance. Instinctively, he caught her by the waist to prevent her from falling. However, amidst the commotion, her phone slipped from his hand and crashed onto the ground, shattering the screen. She looked at him with a mixture of surprise and disbelief.

Viyansh: "Sorry sorry sorry biwi."

Vaidehi: "Keep your sorry with you, I'm going bye."

As she disappeared into the house, he couldn't help but notice the lingering red tint on her cheeks.

Viyansh: "Mrs. Shy, I can see that blush on your chubby cheeks from here."

Vaidehi: "Do hell with it."

She hurried away, leaving him behind.

Viyansh: "Gussa bhi kamaal hai aapka Biwi ji." (Your anger is quite remarkable, my wife)

He chuckled at his own thoughts.

Viyansh: "Alright, I need to go now but will make it for this at night."

With that, he headed off to his office.
