He was sitting beside her, holding her hand, his eyes never leaving her face. Her forehead, usually adorned with a small bindi that added a touch of grace to her appearance, was now wrapped in a bandage. Her natural pink lips, which she loved to enhance with various shades of lipstick and he loved to kiss, were now pale and devoid of their usual vibrancy. Her eyes, always so full of innocence and warmth, were closed and puffy, bearing the marks of her recent ordeal. The cheeks, once chubby and irresistible to him, which he loved to bite and nibble, bore the marks of dried tears. The nose he always tapped to irritate her was now red from crying. Her face, which usually brightened his world with just a smile, was pale and devoid of its usual glow. The hand he was holding, always adorned with colorful bangles that he loved to hear jingle, was now punctured with drips, a stark contrast to the vibrant sounds he cherished. His eyes traveled down to her ankles, which were usually decorated with delicate anklets that produced a soothing, melodious sound with each step. Now, they were wrapped in crepe bandages, silent and still.
All these thoughts and memories ached Viyansh's heart deeply. He remained seated by her side, oblivious to the passage of time. The minutes, perhaps even hours, blurred together in his vigil. His focus was solely on Vaidehi, his mind filled with memories of her vibrant presence now dulled by her current state. After a while, Virat joined him. He came in quietly and took a seat on the opposite side of the bed. Viyansh didn't say anything, knowing that his brother's presence was as much about seeking solace as offering it. Viyansh was aware of the intense anger Virat harbored towards Mr. and Mrs. Oberoi. He had seen the fury in his eyes and knew that only Vaidehi could help him understand and calm down. Virat, too, was lost in his own thoughts, his mind replaying the recent events and the pain they had all witnessed. The sight of his sister-in-law, so lively and loving, now lying so still and fragile, was a harsh contrast that struck deep. His hands were clenched into fists, his knuckles white with suppressed emotion.
Sometime later, Viyansh felt a faint movement against his hand. Vaidehi's fingers had stirred slightly. His heart skipped a beat, and he looked up quickly. Virat, sitting on the opposite side, had noticed it too. For a moment, nothing happened, and then her fingers moved again, a bit more pronounced this time. Viyansh felt a surge of relief and joy.
Virat: "Bhai, Bhabhi Maa moved her fingers."
Viyansh: "Yes Virat, go and call the doctor, please."
Virat ran to get the doctor, informing everyone else along the way. The news sparked a wave of hope and relief among the gathered family members.
Viyansh: "Jaana??"
As everyone entered her ward, the doctor swiftly took charge, moving to Vaidehi's side to begin his examination. With practiced hands, he checked her pulse, her temperature, and her breathing. Then, he turned his attention to the monitors, studying the readouts of the ECG machine, her heartbeats appearing as blips on the screen. The room was filled with a tense silence as everyone watched the doctor's movements intently. Each beep of the monitor seemed to echo in the room, a steady rhythm that they all hoped would continue without interruption. Viyansh stood close by, his hand still gently holding Vaidehi's.
As Vaidehi's eyes fluttered open, the first face she saw was Viyansh's, his eyes filled with relief and concern. She felt the warmth of his hand holding hers, grounding her in the present moment. Slowly, she turned her head and caught sight of her family members gathered around her bed, their expressions a mixture of worry and hope. No words were exchanged, but the silent support of her loved ones surrounded her like a comforting embrace. Vaidehi's gaze shifted from one face to another, taking in the familiar features of her family. She knew they were all waiting for her to speak, giving her the space and time she needed to process everything that had happened. They remained silent, giving her space to speak, knowing that she might need comfort from her mother or father. Memories of the events leading up to her hospitalization flooded back to her, the pain and fear still fresh in her mind. She remembered the moment she had regained consciousness earlier, the overwhelming emotions that had washed over her as she struggled to make sense of it all. Feeling the weight of her family's concern, Vaidehi was determined to reassure them, to let them know that she was alright despite the ordeal she had been through. As the doctor gently removed the oxygen mask from her face, Vaidehi took a deep breath, savoring the freedom to speak again. Despite the lingering weakness in her body, she knew that she needed to reassure her family, to let them know that she was okay. Turning her gaze towards Viyansh, she could see the raw emotion in his eyes, the silent plea for her well-being. It tugged at her heartstrings, igniting a spark of determination within her. With a faint smile, she directed her attention to her family, her voice soft but filled with conviction.
Vaidehi: "Anshh"
In a faint voice, she called out to him. He quickly leaned in closer, gently caressing her head as he listened intently to her words.
Viyansh: "Yes bachcha?"
Vaidehi: "Aa..aap na zyada hero mat baniye."
(Don't act like a hero.)
Viyansh: "Kya??"
(What?)
Confusion swept over him, mirroring the expressions of the others present, including the doctor, as they exchanged puzzled looks in response to her unexpected words.
Vaidehi: "Haa yaha pe itni sare nurses hai, aur aap ye aise baithe hai yaha hero ban ke, shirt ki buttons band kijiye Ansh."
(Yes, there are so many nurses here, and you're sitting here like a hero. Button up your shirt, Ansh.)
Viyansh: "What the.."
Viyansh couldn't help but be taken aback by Vaidehi's unexpected remark. Amidst the palpable tension and concern in the room, her attention inexplicably shifted to her husband's undone buttons. Only Mrs. Vaidehi Viyansh Singhania could manage to do something like that. Even the doctor couldn't help but chuckle at her unexpected remark, while the rest of the group sighed in relief at the small moment of levity amidst the tension.
Vaidehi: "Ansh, buttons band kijiye Varna achcha nahi hoga."
(button up, or it won't be good.)
He snapped out of his surprise and hastily fastened his top two buttons and he adjusted his shirt. The doctor checked her eyes and conducted a thorough examination, assessing her condition carefully to ensure that she was stable and improving.
Doctor: "How are you feeling, Vaidehi?"
Vaidehi: "I'm all good, doctor uncle. Please ask my family not to worry about me."
With a smile, Vaidehi's voice cut through the tension in the room, her words bringing a sense of relief to everyone present. Even though her voice was soft, her message resonated clearly with each person in the room. She called the doctor "uncle," recognizing him as Vikram's friend and feeling a sense of familiarity with him.
Doctor: "Vikram, your daughter is perfectly fine."
Vikram smiled warmly at Vaidehi, a silent reassurance and expression of support.
Doctor: "So Mrs. Ladoo Singhania"
Vaidehi: "Unclee..."
She whined softly, eliciting chuckles from the others as they shared in the lighthearted moment.
Doctor: "Okay, I'm sorry beta, but for your treatment, I need to ask this, okay?"
She nodded in acknowledgment.
Doctor: "Did you regain your memory?"
As Vaidehi's smile dimmed, it caught the attention of everyone in the room, including Abhinav and Sangeeta, who stood quietly behind the Singhania family, their expressions filled with curiosity and concern. Sensing a shift in Vaidehi's demeanor, they watched intently as she lowered her gaze and shook her head slightly.
Vaidehi: "No, just some blurry flashes when that man was narrating everything. But I'm sure that I didn't commit any sin."
With a heavy heart, Vaidehi uttered those words, her voice tinged with sorrow. Abhinav and Sangeeta, standing behind the Singhania family, could keenly sense the weight of her words and the pain they carried. In response, Viyansh gently squeezed her hand and tenderly caressed her head, offering silent reassurance and support.
Doctor: "Okay, forget about that. Tell me, are you feeling any pain?"
Vaidehi: "A little bit in my head and stomach as well."
Doctor: "Okay, don't worry, I'll give the injections now."
Viyansh, Vaidehi: "Noooo"
Both of them said in unison, their synchronicity drawing the attention of everyone else in the room.
Vihaan: "Bhai aap kyu chillaye??"
(brother, why did you shout?)
Viyansh: "Actually, she's scared of injections."
Vaidehi: "I'm not scared, Ansh. I just don't like them."
Viyansh: "ohh is it?? Doctor uncle aap laga dijiye ise injection."
(go ahead and give her the injection.)
Vaidehi: "Annshhh"
She whined once more, her playful protest drawing smiles from those around her.
Doctor: "Okay, okay, relax. I'll give you medicines."
She smiled and playfully glared at Viyansh.
Vaidehi: "Popsyyyy"
"Yes ladoo"
As both Abhinav and Vikram spoke in unison, Vaidehi's attention turned towards them. However, upon meeting her father's gaze, she quickly averted her eyes, a subtle indication of the complex emotions swirling within her.
Vaidehi: "Ansh, please mujhe baithne me help kijiye na."
(please help me sit up.)
Viyansh:Â "No, jaan, you need to rest."
Doctor: "Just adjust the bed, Viyansh. There's no harm in that."
With a nod from Viyansh, the bed was adjusted to elevate Vaidehi into a sitting position. As Vikram was closer to her, she reached out and grasped his hand for support.
Vaidehi: "Popsy bhook lagi."
(I'm hungry.)
She completely ignored Abhinav and Sangeeta, her actions speaking volumes about the complex dynamics within their family.
Vikram: "Doctor, can she eat?"
Doctor: I'll send her some food, mostly liquids. Everything else is fine. We'll keep her for 2 days for observation, and then you can take her home."
Vikram: "Thank you."
Doctor: "Now, I'll take my leave."
After the doctor departed, Vikram also took his leave, tenderly planting a kiss on Vaidehi's forehead before exiting the room. Then, Vaidehi turned her gaze towards Vihaan, Viraj, and Virat, offering them a warm smile.
Vaidehi: "Ahaan bhai, Raj, Veer."
She beckoned them over with a gentle gesture, opening her arms wide. Without hesitation, Vihaan approached from one side while Viraj and Virat came from the other, enveloping her in a careful embrace. They were mindful not to cause her any discomfort, holding her tenderly. As they held her close, Vaidehi could hear the quiet sobs escaping from their lips, and she responded by soothingly rubbing their backs, offering what comfort she could despite her own ordeal.
Vaidehi: "Shhhh, Yaha main thik hu aur aap log ro rahe hai?? Itni buri lagti hu kya main??"
(I'm fine here, and you all are crying? Am IÂ that bad?)
The three of them pulled back.
Vihaan: "If you weren't injured, I would have smacked you on the head really hard."
Vaidehi: "Huh, then my monkeys wouldn't spare you."
Viraj: "This time, we are with Bhai, Bhabhi Maa."
Virat: "We will support him."
Vaidehi: "Ansh dekhiye na ye teeno mere against Jaa rahe hai."
(look, these three are going against me.)
Viyansh: "Even I'm with them."
Vaidehi: "Haa haa aapko toh bas mauka chahiye mujhe sunane ka, huhh."
(Yes, yes, you just need an excuse to scold me, huh.)
Viyansh: "I swear biwi, is baar tumne harkat hi aisi ki hai. Jab pair me chot lagi thi toh Ghar se nikalne ki zarurat hi kya thi tumhe???"
(I swear, wife, this time, you really deserve it. When you had an injury on your foot, what was the need to leave the house?)
Virat: "Bhabhi Maa, forget about all that. Why did you take the bullet?"
Sangeeta: "Because she still considers me her mother."
Sangeeta and Abhinav, who had been quietly observing Vaidehi's interactions with her family, approached her. Sangeeta tenderly caressed her head, but Vaidehi shifted slightly and lowered her gaze, indicating her discomfort. Abhinav reached out to hold her hand, but she pulled it back, suggesting her reluctance to accept their gestures of affection.
Sangeeta: "Kyu kiya aisa beta, koi bhi beti apni maa ke liye ye nahi karti Jo tune Kiya hai."
(Why did you do this, child? No daughter does what you did for her mother.)
Vaidehi: "Don't get me wrong, Mum... I mean Mrs. Oberoi. I did this because you took care of me for 8-9 years. Consider it my payback."
Vaidehi's eyes glistened with unshed tears, but she fought to hold them back. Sangeeta and Abhinav were taken aback by her reaction, realizing that she wasn't ready to forgive them so easily.
Abhinav: "Hume maaf kar Dena beta."
(Please forgive us, child.)
Vaidehi: "Aapne Kiya tha mujhe maaf Mr. Oberoi?? Jab ki meri koi galti bhi nahi thi".
(Did you forgive me, Mr. Oberoi? Even when I had done nothing wrong?)
Sangeeta: "Humne Jo Kiya vo maafi ke kabil toh nahi hai, par hume har sazaa manzoor hai beta, jo bhi tu kahe."
(What we did is unforgivable, but we are ready to accept any punishment you give us, child. Whatever you say.)
Her voice trembled as she spoke, unable to contain her emotions any longer.
Vaidehi: "Ahaan bhai mere sar me dard ho raha hai, I need rest."
(I have a headache, I need rest.)
Vihaan: "Ok, tu araam kar dahi, bhai hai yaha and hum bhi bahar hi hai."
(Okay, you rest, Dahi. Bhai is here and we're also outside.)
Vihaan comprehended her unspoken message, and it resonated with Abhinav and Sangeeta as well; she no longer wished to engage with them. As Vihaan tenderly pressed a kiss to her forehead, Viraj and Virat followed suit, and together they silently departed. Abhinav and Sangeeta, their hearts heavy with sorrow, also took their leave. Though they yearned to embrace their daughter, her addressing them as Mr. and Mrs. Oberoi made it clear that she needed space and time. They realized that repairing their fractured relationship with her would demand considerable effort and patience on their part.
Viyansh: "Jaana abhi bhi sar me dard hai??"
(is your head still hurting?)
As she gazed at him, she felt a deep understanding wash over her. His concerns were palpable, evident in the weariness etched into every line of his face. His once neatly trimmed beard now bore the marks of neglect, having grown more unruly than usual. Even his eyes, usually bright with vitality, were now swollen and tired, betraying the weight of sleepless nights and endless worry. Despite her absence, she sensed his inner turmoil, the ache of her absence reverberating through every unspoken glance and hesitant gesture. Yet, in that moment, as she looked upon him with tender compassion, she chose to offer solace rather than reproach. With a gentle smile playing upon her lips, she spoke softly, her words a balm to his weary soul.
Vaidehi: "Nahi Ansh, but mujhe kuch chahiye."
(No, Ansh, but I need something.)
Viyansh, who had been perched on the stool by her side, rose to his feet with urgency, concern etched across his features.
Viyansh: "Haa bachcha bolo, kya chahiye."
(Yes, dear, what do you need?)
Her smile widened, and she extended her arms, tilting her head slightly to one side as she spoke.
Vaidehi: "Aap"
(You)
In that tender moment, his longing for connection mirrored hers. The sight of her, reaching out to him with such vulnerability and openness, ignited a flood of emotions within him, stirring a longing he had suppressed for far too long. Overwhelmed by the sudden surge of feelings, he surrendered to the irresistible pull of her embrace. As he enveloped her in his arms, the dam holding back his emotions finally burst, and tears flowed freely down his cheeks. Each drop was a testament to the weight of his yearning, the pent-up emotions of longing, regret, and hope cascading forth in a silent torrent. Feeling his trembling frame pressed against her, Vaidehi responded with gentle reassurance, her hand moving in soothing circles upon his back. In this embrace, words were rendered unnecessary; their shared embrace spoke volumes, conveying a depth of understanding and forgiveness that transcended any spoken language.
Viyansh: "I'm so sorry, Jaana, I wasn't there when you needed me. I'm so sorry."
Vaidehi: "Shhh, Ansh, it's not your fault. It was destined to happen."
Viyansh: "Main tumhare sath hota toh ye hone nahi deta. But main khud ko maaf nahi kar paunga."
(If I had been with you, this wouldn't have happened. But I won't be able to forgive myself.)
Vaidehi: "Aapki galti nahi Ansh, aap kyu aise soch rahe hai."
(It's not your fault, Ansh. Why are you thinking like that?)
Despite Vaidehi's tender efforts to comfort him, his turmoil persisted unabated. With her in his arms, the weight of his perceived failures bore down upon him with crushing force. Each caress from her gentle hand served as a reminder of his own shortcomings, fueling the relentless cycle of self-blame that gripped his mind. In the midst of his anguish, he found himself consumed by a relentless chorus of regrets. He berated himself for not being there when she needed him most, for failing to shield her from the storms that had engulfed her world. The echoes of his own perceived inadequacies reverberated through every fiber of his being, drowning out the soothing reassurances she offered in vain. Despite Vaidehi's earnest attempts to assuage his guilt, her words fell upon deaf ears. His mind, ensnared by the tangled web of his own self-condemnation, remained stubbornly resistant to her gentle entreaties. In his eyes, he alone bore the burden of responsibility for her pain, a burden he could scarcely bear beneath the weight of his own remorse. As Vaidehi witnessed his deteriorating state, a deep sense of concern and fear gripped her heart. The sight of him crumbling under the weight of his own anguish filled her with a profound sense of helplessness. Despite her own emotional turmoil, she knew that she had to intervene before his fragile state took a toll on his health. With tears glistening in her eyes, mirroring his own, she made a desperate decision. Knowing that reasoning with him in his current state seemed futile, she resorted to a tactic born of desperation: emotional blackmail. Though she felt a pang of guilt for employing such a strategy, she knew that it was the only way to break through the walls he had erected around his pain.
Feeling his pain and realizing the toll it was taking on him, Vaidehi mustered her strength to gently coax him out of his distress. It was evident to anyone observing that he hadn't slept or eaten in days, and she couldn't bear to see him suffering like this.
Vaidehi: "Ansh agar aapne abhi Rona band nahi kiya toh main bhi rone lagungi aur phir mujhe dard hoga."
(if you don't stop crying now, I'll start crying too, and then I'll feel pain.)
As he pulled back, Vaidehi reached out and tenderly wiped away his tears, her touch gentle and reassuring.
Viyansh: "No you will not cry bachcha, doctor ne kaha hai pressure nahi Dena hai bilkul bhi."
(No, you will not cry, dear. The doctor said not to apply any pressure.)
Vaidehi: "Ha toh promise me that you won't blame yourself".
She extended her hand, palm up, and gestured for him to place his hand in hers, a silent request for a promise.
Viyansh: "Jaana ye tum.."
Vaidehi: "Promise me Ansh."
He closed his eyes in resignation, feeling compelled to be honest with her. Placing his palm on hers, he spoke, unable to deceive her as he said.
Viyansh: "I can't promise, but I'll try, Jaan."
Vaidehi smiled and ruffled his hair affectionately. However, her expression suddenly changed, and she placed her hands on her waist, her demeanor shifting to one of determination.
Vaidehi: "Good, and ye bataiye ye black shirt pehen ke aap hero banke mere samne ghum rahe hai. Ansh I'm injured kuch toh Daya kijiye mere dil pe, itni hotness leke ghumenge main kaise sambhalungi khud ko."
(and tell me why you're strutting around in this black shirt like a hero. Ansh, I'm injured, have some mercy on my heart. With so much hotness, how will I control myself?)
This girl had the uncanny ability to make her husband blush at any moment. Even now, he was a blushing mess, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment or perhaps affectionate admiration.
Viyansh: "Bas bhi Karo yaar, jagah dekh ke toh flirt Karo."
(Enough, yaar, flirt only when appropriate.)
Vaidehi: "Arehh mera pati meri marzi main kabhi bhi, kahi bhi flirt karu."
(Ohh, my husband, I can flirt whenever and wherever I want.)
She winked mischievously, causing him to blush once more, which made her chuckle. However, her laughter was interrupted by a sudden hiss of pain, causing her expression to change instantly.
Vaidehi: "Ahhh"
Viyansh quickly held her and asked with concern evident in his voice.
Viyansh: "Jaan kya hua??"
(what happened??)
Vaidehi: "Nothing bas vo hasne ke vajah se.."
(just because of laughing...)
Viyansh: "bas ab let jao ab koi Masti nahi karogi tum."
(Stop it now, no more fun for you.)
Vaidehi: "Nahi Ansh pehle kuch khilaiye na bahaut bhookh lagi hai. Dekhiye awaaz tak nahi nikal rahi hai."
(No, Ansh, first feed me something, I'm very hungry. Look, my voice isn't even coming out.)
Yes, she was indeed very weak at the moment. Her voice had been consistently low since she regained consciousness, a sign of her weakened state.
Viyansh: "Nurse is getting your food just wait for sometime."
Vaidehi: "Achcha Ansh zara Popsy, Vihaan Bhai and Mere monkeys ko andar bulaiye na"
(Okay, Ansh, please call Popsy, Vihaan Bhai, and my monkeys inside.)
Viyansh: "Kyu??"
(Why?)
Vaidehi: "Bulaiye toh please."
(Just call them, please.)
Viyansh: "Okay."
Viyansh summoned everyone, and they entered the room.
Vikram: "Yes ladoo, kuch chahiye???"
(do you need anything?)
Vihaan: "Kahi dard toh nahi ho raha hai kya dahi??"
(Is there any pain?)
Viraj: "Bhabhi maa aap thik ho na?"
(are you okay?)
Virat: "Doctor ko bulaye kya??"
(Should we call the doctor?)
Unable to shout in her weakened state, she raised her hands to them in a gesture of stopping, conveying her message without words.
Vaidehi: "Ab meri baat aap sab log sunenge aur manenege bhi, is that clear??"
(Now, listen to me, all of you, and you must obey, is that clear?)
Vihaan: "Ha par bol toh hua kya?"
(Yes, but what's going on?)
Vaidehi: "Aap sab ab yaha se sidha Ghar jayenge, freshen up hoyenge, khana khayenge aur phir araam karenge samjhe??"
(All of you will go home now, freshen up, eat, and then rest, understood?)
Vikram: "No ladoo we are fine ove..."
Vaidehi: "No Popsy aap toh rehne hi do. I know aap sab ne do dino se kuch nahi khaya hoga, aur araam toh dur ki baat hai."
(No, Popsy, you stay. I know none of you have eaten anything for the past two days, and rest is out of the question.)
Viraj: "par hum aapko aise.."
(But we...)
Vaidehi: "Kuch aise vaise nahi, and vaise bhi Ansh hai na mere sath main rakhungi na unka khayal."
(Not like this, and besides, Ansh is here with me, I'll take care of him.)
Viyansh: "Tum mera khayal rakhogi ya main tumhara??"
(Will you take care of me or will I take care of you?)
Vaidehi: "Main aapka, aap meri sunenge aur manenge toh hai nahi ki Ghar jaake fresh hoke aa jaye, halat dekhiye kya kar rakhi hai apne apni aur chup karke sab log meri baat suno."
(I'll take care of you, and if you listen to me and agree, you'll go home, freshen up, eat, and then come back. Look at the situation, what have you all done to yourselves, and quietly listen to me.)
Eklavya's entrance into the room disrupted the somber atmosphere, his presence injecting a new energy into the scene. As he took in the sight before him, he couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the scene unfolding. Before him stood the Singhania siblings and their father, their usual air of independence and confidence momentarily subdued as they stood in rapt attention, their gazes fixed on Vaidehi. Despite their usual spirited demeanor, they appeared almost reverent in their deference to her.
Vaidehi: "Samjhe sab log??"
(Understood, everyone?)
All five Singhania mens: "aye aye captain."
She giggled along with the others as Eklavya came over and playfully ruffled Vaidehi's hair.
Eklavya: "How's my little bunny??"
Vaidehi: "Absolutely fine Bhai"
Eklavya's smile widened as he beheld the radiant expression adorning Vaidehi's face, a sight that brought a sense of relief and joy to his own heart. Eklavya then glanced at the other five men in the room and chuckled at their expressions, perhaps finding amusement in their reaction to the situation.
Eklavya: "Bahar bol rahe the ye log ki dahi ko aise daat launga, bhabhi maa ko aise lecture denge vaise datenge, ladoo ye thik nahi kiya aur ab dekho paachon me se ek ki bhi zabaan nahi khul Rahi hai tere samne."
(They were scaring her outside, saying they'll scold her, lecture her, and now, not one of them is saying a word in front of you.)
Vaidehi giggled, her laughter ringing out softly in the room, a sign of her growing comfort and ease in the situation.
Virat: "Dekhiye na bhai kaisa puppy face banaya hai bhabhi maa ne ispe hum kaise inhe daat laga sakte hai???"
(Look, bhai, how bhabhi maa has made puppy faces, how can we scold her like this?)
Vaidehi: "That's the power of Vaidehi Viyansh Singhania, bhai."
All joined in the giggles, the shared moment of levity bringing a sense of camaraderie and relief to the room.
Vihaan: "okay ma'am ab aap ke aage kya hi kahe hum sab bechari log, jaake jaldi se vapas aate hai."
(what else can we say in front of you poor souls? Let's quickly go back.)
Vaidehi: "Bhai please, Ansh ki shaving kit bhi lete aaiyega vapas aate waqt, ye bhaloo lag rahe hai mujhe."
(please bring Ansh's shaving kit when you come back. He's looking like a bear to me.)
All giggled at her words, sharing in the light-hearted moment, while Viyansh playfully glared at her.
Vikram: "Okay, ladoo, we'll go and quickly come back."
Vaidehi: "Ahh, Popsy."
Vikram: "Yes, ladoo?"
Vaidehi: "Um... ask them also to go and rest."
Vikram smiled, understanding that she was referring to her parents, and nodded in acknowledgment. All the Singhania men left the room except for Viyansh and Eklavya, their presence remaining to provide support and comfort to Vaidehi.
Eklavya: "Dara Diya tha yaar little bunny."
(Little bunny you scared us, huh?)
Vaidehi: "Sorry, I won't do it again promise tall giraffe."
Eklavya: "Ok and what is this tall giraffe?? Call me bhai."
He tried to intimidate her with his glare, but Vaidehi remained unfazed, her playful demeanor unchanged.
Vaidehi: "Yeah, yeah, by the way, how's Naina bhabhi?"
Eklavya: "She's fine, will come to meet you soon."
Vaidehi: "No, no, don't let her come here, let her rest at home, please."
Eklavya: "She's not gonna listen to me, especially nowadays she doesn't listen to me at all."
All three of them shared a laugh, enjoying the moment of lightness together. After some time, even Eklavya left the room, leaving Viyansh and Vaidehi alone. Vaidehi looked at Viyansh, finding him already gazing at her, and raised her eyebrows inquisitively, silently prompting him for whatever was on his mind.
Viyansh: "Main bhaloo lagta hu??"
(Do I look like a bear?)
Vaidehi: "Yes, so please shave your beard."
Viyansh: "No, now I won't shave."
Vaidehi: "Then I won't let you kiss me."
He stared at her with widened eyes, taken aback by her boldness in bringing up the topic of kissing so openly. He couldn't help but wonder if her recent injury had somehow changed her demeanor, making her more forward than usual.
Viyansh: "Anyways, you are injured, so no such things."
As Viyansh observed Vaidehi's widened eyes, a mischievous twinkle danced in his own. The sight of her surprise only fueled his desire to tease her further, but he held back, relishing the anticipation of provoking her in jest. In those two days of separation, he had sorely missed these moments â the playful banter, the shared laughter, and the undeniable chemistry that crackled between them. His heart ached with longing to see her once more in all her facets â her annoyance, her childish antics, her playful mischief. For in those moments, he found a kind of joy and fulfillment that he couldn't find anywhere else.
Vaidehi: "Dekhiye Ansh ye galat baat hai aap mere sath Aisa nahi kar sakte."
(Look, Ansh, this is wrong, you can't do this to me.)
Viyansh struggled to contain his amusement at Vaidehi's adorable expressions, finding it difficult not to burst into laughter at her endearing mannerisms.
Viyansh: "Vahi toh main keh Raha hu Jaan, main is waqt tumhare sath aisa vaisa kuch nahi kar sakta."
(That's what I'm saying, Jaan, I can't do anything like that with you right now.)
As Viyansh continued his playful teasing, he found himself suddenly caught off guard by Vaidehi's swift maneuver. Before he could react, she had grasped his collar firmly, pulling him close with a strength that took him by surprise. Feeling the sudden shift in her demeanor, Viyansh's heart skipped a beat, his senses tingling with anticipation. He could feel the heat of her breath against his skin, her voice taking on a husky quality that sent shivers down his spine.
Vaidehi: "Is waqt kuch nahi karenge matlab baadme sab kuch karenge??"
(Not right now, but we'll do everything later?)
Caught off guard by Vaidehi's playful remark and wink, Viyansh blushed profusely, feeling a rush of warmth flood his cheeks, ears, and neck. He chuckled nervously, gently freeing his collar from her playful grip while trying to regain his composure.
Viyansh: "Biwi yaar Jagah toh dekho aur sharam karlo thodi."
(Wife, look around and have some shame.)
As Vaidehi unleashed her most potent weapon, Viyansh found himself momentarily stunned by her boldness. Her playful pout and the tantalizing gesture of licking her lips sent a jolt of desire coursing through him, his breath catching in his throat as he struggled to maintain his composure.
Unable to resist the allure of her innocent yet provocative expression, Viyansh felt a chuckle bubble up from within him, his amusement mingling with the growing heat of desire. Leaning in, he moved and steal a quick peck from her lips, eager to indulge in the sweet intimacy they shared. But their moment of stolen affection was abruptly interrupted by the sudden appearance of the nurse, her unexpected entrance shattering the illusion of privacy they had momentarily enjoyed. With wide eyes, Viyansh swiftly straightened, his heart pounding with a mixture of embarrassment and relief as he realized they had narrowly avoided being caught in a compromising position. Glancing at the nurse with a silent plea for discretion, Viyansh let out a sigh of relief as he saw her oblivious to their brief exchange. Meanwhile, Vaidehi's frustration was palpable as she shut her eyes in annoyance, the fleeting moment of intimacy slipping away like sand through her fingers.
Vaidehi: "inhe bhi abhi hi aana tha, saara moment kharab kar diya mera, do minute feel tak nahi karne diya."
(She had to come now, she've ruined the whole moment for me. She've spoiled everything, and didn't even let me have a two-minute feeling.)
Vaidehi's playful antics had successfully lightened the mood, and both she and Viyansh shared a chuckle as they exchanged glances. It was evident that her playful distractions had effectively shifted his focus, providing a momentary respite from the worries and tensions that had been weighing heavily on him.
Viyansh: "Don't worry ek baar thik ho jao phir 24 hours feel karna."
(once you're better, you'll have 24 hours to feel.)
Viyansh couldn't contain his grin as he witnessed Vaidehi's cheeks flush with a rosy hue. Her bashful reaction was exactly what he had been longing to see, and it only added to the warmth he felt in his heart.
