FENG LIQIN'S POV

I was struck with fear knowing that I might lose my husband. As we spoke to the minister in front of us, I saw a glint of a dagger within his sleeves. Of course, I thought nothing of it. Not until he bowed slowly and started to take it out that I hurriedly step in front of Longwei just in time.

Blood was spilled everywhere. People who heard and saw screamed in horror. Guards came forward to protect us and the people. Fortunately, it was neither my blood or Longwei's blood that was spilled. It was the ministers own.

He was about to stab when his hand stopped itself and changed directions. He then stabbed himself on his chest. I gasped, looking at the man horrified. Longwei turned me around and pulled me to his chest. You could still hear the squelching of the blood being spurted out from the stab. I held onto Longwei tightly while burying my head into his chest. Longwei just stroked my head to calm me down. I focus on my breathing to keep myself calm and tune out the screams of the people.

Once everything stopped and seemed to be a little bit calmer, I looked around to see the guards escorting the people out of the palace. I looked at them sadly thinking that the beautiful, calm day was ruined.

"Are you alright, love?" Asked Huang Longwei. I looked up at him and nodded slightly. "Good. It's time for the people to go home. Alright, love?"

"Ok." I agreed. "Can we see them off at least and not go inside yet?" I asked him.

"I'm sorry but we can't. We must go inside now." I looked down sadly but still nodded in understanding. "But, I'll take you out to see the people in a few days." I smiled brightly up at him after hearing what he said. I hugged him tightly and thank him.

We walked in the direction of his horse to go back to his- no, our room in the Emperor's Palace. Then, I felt a tug on my hanfu. I looked down to see one of the kids that I taught before. I stopped Huang Longwei and turned around to see all the children that used to be under my care in front of me.

"What are you doing here?" I gasp. "You should head home now. It's dangerous after what had happened." I told them.

"But teacher, we want to see you." One cried. I smiled sadly and kneeled down in front of them. I knew I wasn't supposed to do that but I didn't care and Huang Longwei didn't stop me either. "You didn't come to see us so we were worried. After hearing about the crowning we immediately came here to see if we could see you." The same child spoke.

I wanted to cry after hearing their explanation. They were worried about me. I felt so happy knowing that they cared.

"Don't worry, teacher is fine. Teacher will go and see all of you at the end of next week at your homes. Teacher is sorry that teacher cannot see you sooner but that is how it has to be for now. Alright?" I told them.

They all nodded sadly. I smiled while stroking one of the children's hair and face. I am definitely going to miss them.

"Children. Come here." I said gently and open my arms wide. All of them came forward to hug me and I held them tightly. After that, I called my brother and his soon to be husband to escort the children home. I watched as they left before turning around to face the Emperor.

"Love, you know you shouldn't be kneeling down to anyone but me. I'll let it slide since its because of the children." He said with a smile.

I smiled back at him and let him lead me back inside the palace and to our room. Once I've changed back into my normal clothes, I went out to see big brother in Imperial General Li's room since the Emperor is busy.

Entering his courtyard I immediately heard big brother screaming. I walk faster to see big brother screaming at himself while throwing things around.

"Big brother? Are you alright?" I asked him.

He jumped feeling startled and looked at me. Then, his eyes watered. "My sweet little brother!" He cried.

I looked at him wide-eyed, wondering what's wrong. Bug brother hugged me tightly while crying. I was even more confused about what's happened.

"Little brother. Please tell this big brother of yours that it's not true." He cried while looking directly into my eyes again.

"What isn't true, big brother?"

"That we are supposed to live with our soon-to-be-husband before being married?" He looked at me with hope.

"Umm... Big brother? Who told you that? Of course your not supposed to live with your soon-to-be-husband before being married. But, you can if you want to."

My brother's eyes brightened then darkened. He started to seeth in rage and cursing General Li.

"Big brother, what's wrong?" I asked.

"Zhong Shen lied to me! Now I'm really not going to give what he wants and go home!" He continued cursing General Li while making his servants take his things back to fathers house. I giggled at my brother. Soon after before leaving, General Li came back from his duties with the Emperor.

"General Li, how was the meeting?" I asked him as he walked in with a smile. He looked towards me, then pales.

"Ah, my Empress! How lovely to see you. The meeting was fine. What are you doing here, if you don't mind me asking?" He said with a smile. I giggled again when I see his nervous and slightly scared face. I know what would happen and it would surely be fun to watch.

"I wanted to visit big brother. By the way, just call me little Feng or little brother. Please don't call me that."

"Of course, little brother. How is Huizhong? Is-"

"LI ZHONG SHEN!!" Big brother's scream could be heard. I looked back at the hallway to see him marching towards us with a frown. I smiled back at General Li before stepping back.

Unfortunately, before he could watch the show, the Emperor came. Big brother stopped in his tracks bowed down in respect along with myself and General Li soon after.

"My wife, it's time for you to go back to our room. Please don't disturb your brother and General." He said with a straight face. I pouted but still followed him out.

After we were far enough, we heard shouting and screaming from them. I just laughed at their antiques. Longwei grab my waist and pulled me closer as we walk towards our room.
