Chapter 34
I accepted Monaâs guilty display of goodwill without question, but I resolved not to be as naively manipulable as before. It would also be impossible for us to go out alone together again.
Dad aimed to train me, and soon gave me the project directorâs position, putting me in charge of all the work in the film and television department.
I set up a project team specifically for âAbsolute Loveâ and had Ray in charge of assembling the team.
The project quickly moved into an intensive preparation phase.
Without any prior work experience, I soon found my footing in the corporate world.
Clad in business attire, I shuttled between home and the company, too busy to think about love or dwell on my past obsession with Gordon.
A week later, as I was leaving Radglo Corp. after work, I was surprised to see Gordonâs Lincoln limousine parked at the main entrance.
Gordon was dressed in a light gray bespoke suit, leaning casually against the front of the limousine.
His luxurious car accentuated his dignified elegance while his exceptionally handsome face attracted countless female onlookers.
âWell, look who it is.â
I was taken aback at the sight of him, as I had not expected Gordon to appear there.
âI came to pick you up from work.â He nodded slightly, a rare smile appearing on his icy face.
âOh? Thatâs even more unexpected.â I was pleasantly surprised, walking up to him with composure.
He surveyed me from head to toe, a faint look of surprise crossing his face, followed by a rare compliment, âYou look good.â
Coincidentally, I was wearing a light gray satin blouse paired with black ankleâlength trousers and silver
heels.
My collarboneâlength hair was styled into soft curls, and I wore green clover earrings and a Vacheron
Constantin watch.
My slim and tall figure made this outfit quite presentable.
Gordon had always been critical of my fashion choices, deeming them either too gaudy or lacking in
elegance.
In the past, nothing I wore seemed to please him.
But I wasnât surprised as I was so in love with him that I lost myself, always trying to cater to his
preferences to the point of losing my identity. Even my style became a mishmash, ending up

praise.
However, such praise didnât bring me joy.
I smiled slightly as I replied, âWhat brings you here all of a sudden?â
âDid you forget about the Holmes Groupâs yearâend gala?â Gordon asked with a frown, seeing that I had no
recollection.
âOh, is it that time already?â I swiftly glanced at my phone to confirm the date, only to discover the galaâs date was indeed close, scheduled for tomorrow.
But why was he here today if the gala was set for tomorrow?
