Chapter 7
âHow stupid. Fine, Iâll teach you. Look.â
When I heard Gordonâs familiar voice, I instinctively stood in place. Selena obviously heard him as well because she suddenly became worked up.
âIs Gordon together with that smallâtime celebrity again? Doesnât he know he has a wife? How ridiculous!â
This had happened so many times in my previous life that I had lost count.
I would rush into the room to drag him out. Then, I would get humiliated by the women he had scandals with, and Gordonâs best friends would look down on me. I would even get chased out by security.
If a man didnât like us, we would always be wrong, even if we kept quiet, made a scene, or cared about him.
I never understood that previously. Now, I felt nothing anymore.
ât resist the
Selena couldnât resist the urge to barge in there and get justice for me. However, I pulled her back and shook my head.
âLeave him be, Selena. If he can find himself a celebrity, then I can find myself a dashing young man as well. Weâll just have our own fun. Itâs not worth getting angry over a man like him!â
Since I drank some alcohol earlier, I spoke louder than usual. I couldnât help gritting my teeth too since I was filled with hatred as well.
I was about to drag Selena away when someone suddenly called me from behind.
Taylor, when did you become so wise? Gordonâs inside. Are you sure you donât want to
everyone?â
I was familiar with that voice. It was Hector,
come in and
greet
What horrible timing. I wanted to leave without making a scene, but he called out to me and even opened the door to their room.
At that moment, everyone in the room saw me, and I quickly heard Gordonâs cold voice coming from the
room.
âTaylor, get in here!â
He was still commanding, and his tone didnât have any hint of feelings for me. [1]
I turned around, and my gaze went past the crowd and locked on Gordon, who was sitting in the center of the room.
The people in the room were dressed casually except for him. As usual, Gordon was in his darkâcolored suit as he sat there fiercely with an imposing air around him.
I could feel how cold he was, even if I was standing far away.

I also saw the coy woman sitting next to him. She was Nora Flores, a smallâtime actress. Nora had been in a few TV series before, and she looked like she was Gordonâs type.
They had been close recently. However, she was just one of Gordonâs playtoys in our six years of
marriage.
His true sweetheart would be Sabrina.
Back then, I had wasted too much energy on these women and made myself miserable. In the end, I ignored Sabrina, who was the greatest threat.
âWhatâs wrong? Can I help you?â
I proudly walked toward Gordon. When he saw me, he frowned again and coldly said with a mocking smirk, âWho said you could drink, Taylor?â
âI did,â I nonchalantly answered.
âLook at what youâre wearing. You reek of alcohol. Have you forgotten you have a husband?â
A man who was publicly going out with the woman he had a scandal with was asking if I remembered I
had a husband.
I laughed at that moment. I didnât know where I got the courage from, but I approached Gordon and placed my skinny arms on the couch behind his shoulders. Then, I got close to his face.
He was clearly surprised by my actions and unconsciously backed away. We stared into each otherâs. eyes. We were so close that I could even see his pores.
I bravely exhaled in his face with my alcoholâfilled breath. Then, I sneered and faintly said, âWhat about
you?
âYouâre drinking here with a wild woman and letting the media expose what youâre doing. Do you remember you still have a wife?â
my previous life, I would never have the courage to provoke him publicly like this, let alone interrogate
him faceâtoâface.
However, I was staring into his eyes without any fear at that moment.
It turned out that not caring was the best weapon. At that moment, I felt more at ease.
Gordon probably never expected I would be so daring and was instantly infuriated. He grabbed my collar and yelled coldly, âHow dare you, Taylor?â
I was still smiling without a care. Then, I reached out and touched the hand he used to grab my collar. However, he flinched like he had touched something disgusting.
I casually adjusted my collar and stood up straight again. Then, I loudly said to him, âGordon, you can have your fun, and Iâll have mine from now on. Letâs live in peace and not interfere with each other.â
I didnât say that just for Gordon to hear. I also meant to say that to his best friends, who had always
looked down on me.

I might not have any specialty and couldnât make Gordon love me. However, I would never let him trample on my dignity ever again.
After I finished speaking, I left the room immediately.
To be honest, the room had a strong smell. There was even that bitchâs perfume in the air, and I didnât want to stay there a second longer.
âGordon, sheâs so arrogant! Why havenât you gotten a divorce yet? Do you want to grow old with her?â
I didnât seek trouble with Nora. However, she was something else for instigating Gordon to get a divorce
in front of me.
I scoffed and stopped walking. Before Gordon could say anything, I turned around and slapped Nora in
the face.
âSince your parents failed to educate you, Iâll help them do it.
âI understand a woman has to do her best in the entertainment industry. However, itâs immoral to seduce another womanâs husband in front of her!
âIf you dare to tell my husband to divorce me, Iâll make sure youâll receive your punishment!â I coldly said
to Nora.
Meanwhile, she clearly didnât expect me to be so bold that day. After all, I had always been a coward in
front of everyone previously.
Nora held her face, which became red after I slapped her. She was so furious that she couldnât form a
sentence.
In the end, she couldnât help crying and tugging Gordonâs sleeve. âLook at her, Gordon! She really doesnât care about your feelings at all!â
âScram.â
Gordon had been staring at me the whole time. At that moment, the rage in his eyes had diminished. In its wake was a complicated look that no one could understand.
