ACT I FINAL.
Even the darkest of days will end and the sun will rise.
Avery's hands trembled and her pulse raced with terror. She blinked several times to verify what she was seeing, but no matter how hard she tried, the terrifying sight would not go away.
'No, no, no,'
Avery quickly slammed the lid back and threw the package off the bed, It landed on the ground with a thud, clattering onto the tiles. Her hands combed through her hair. 'This can't be happening' The blonde let out a shaky breath, the hands that was combing strands of her hair tightened and she started pulling on her roots. 'Fuck!' Her eyes started tearing up, she knew exactly who that package was from. And it didn't comfort her in the slightest.
Her gaze shifted to the package laying on the ground. She let out a shuddering exhale and threw off her bedcovers. She marched up to the box, grabbed it up, and approached the nearby window. The girl undid the latch and flung it open before throwing the package away.
She didn't want to deal with them anymore; she didn't want to get involved anymore.
Avery sank down onto the ground and let her head rest in her palm. 'I'm so tired,' The girl began lightly sobbing into her hands. 'I can't take this much longer.' Avery lifted her head and solemnly looked in front of her as a morbid thought blossomed in her mind.

Y/n was lying in his bed, it was late at night, but he still couldn't get a wink of sleep. He kept tossing and turning. His mind was swarming with different thoughts, the one that was dominant was the odd reaction he had received from Ezra and Elio. The h/c haired couldn't grasp the reasoning behind it.
The boy turned to his side to look at the childhood photo he had put up over his desk, it was dark, which meant he couldn't see the photo very well, but he could still see the outline of six young kids. The longer he stared at the photo the more the thought he had previously seemed to become more logical.
'Do they...like me?'
.
Y/n slowly opened his eyelids. 'Huh? did I actually fall asleep?' His eyes shifted toward the clock near his bed "Shit!" The boy shot upright out of bed. He had overslept. He began hurriedly putting on his uniform, he suspected his mom hadn't woken him up because she had an early shift and expected the teenager to wake up by himself.
Y/n sped down the street with his bag in his hand. 'If I start walking now, I can make it in time for lunch,' he concluded, The boy put on his shoes and opened the front porch, mentally preparing him for the walk he had in front of him.
The h/c haired boy arrived at his school and speedily made it to the cafeteria, the lunch break had just begun, which meant he hadn't missed that much.
Y/n walked into the cafeteria, walked to the table where Clark and Kiara were sitting, and plopped himself down. "So, where are you coming from?" Clark asked. Y/n grunted, "I overslept.." He trailed off. The brunette shrugged. "That's tough luck." He replied. Y/n propped his head up by his elbows and let out a yawn, turns out he hadn't slept as well as he thought.
"Hey, guys?" Y/n regarded the duo "Yes?" Kiara replied with a mouthful of food. "I'm going to the hospital after school, to visit Avery Emmons, to offer my condolences, and to see if I can ask a few questions about the night she vanished. Can you guys come along?" Kiara and Clark stayed silent. "Um..." Kiara began, her brunette friend interrupted, "Sure." he replied. The black haired girl shot him a scowl, but Clark ignored her stare. Y/n nodded. "Thanks, guys."
Y/n narrowed his eyes as a subject popped up in his mind. "You guys know that I'm friends with Ezra, Nova, Elio, and Roy, right?" The pair gave him a hesitant nod. "Well, I think they might like me." The brunette rolled his eyes at the comment, "Well, of course they like you, they wouldn't be friends with you if they didn't." Y/n straightened his posture and leaned closer to the duo "No, I mean...romantically." Clark stopped moving and stared at the boy with a blank stare.
"You think they might be in love with you?" Kiara asked, putting down her sandwich to immerse herself in the conversation, Y/n made a skeptical expression and peered at the quartet across the cafeteria who were talking amongst each other. "Well, I don't think in love, just, a crush or something." He asserted. Clark wrinkled his nose up "I mean, that would explain a lot of things." Y/n turned back to the brown-haired male "What do you mean?" Clark gestured his fork toward the group.
"It would explain why they act all soft with you." He commented bitterly. The h/c haired creased his brows, glancing back at the four once more, and almost jumped out of his skin when he saw they were staring at him. 'Do they hear us or something?!' Ezra gave him a warm smile and gestured for him to come to their table. Y/n bit his lower lip before turning around to ask his two companions for their opinion. Clark was chewing on his meal with a disinterested look.
"Just go, don't want to get them impatient. We'll see you after school." The brunette stated and shooed the boy away with his fork. "Okay..." Y/n said doubly. He stood up, and Kiara waved him goodbye.
The boy walked over to the group's table and sat down next to Elio. "Hey..." he greeted 'Gods why did I come over here?' Y/n bit the inside of his cheek. "what's up pretty boy, how are you?" Roy asked propping his elbows on the table. Y/n pulled his lips into a line and pondered about the question "Well I'm tired." He eventually said "But i overslept.." Nova raised a brow "How can you be tired but oversleep?" The h/c boy looked at the ash blond with an annoyed expression.
"I don't know, Nova, probably because I stayed up too late and my alarm didn't go off?" He replied in a quipped tone "So you're saying you don't sleep well at night?" Nova bit back teasingly, Y/n rolled his eyes and put a hand to his mouth not being bothered to entertain the male with an answer.
"If you want we could pick you up tomorrow to make sure you wake up on time?" Ezra offered. Y/n hummed not really taking in Ezra's words "Uh- huh sure." He replied.
the four boys shared a look that Y/n didn't pay attention to.

After school, Y/n was walking down the hall, he was going to meet up with Kiara and Clark at the front gate to take the bus to the hospital.
The h/c haired stopped walking when a bit ahead of him, he saw a girl pinned up against a locker by a turquoise haired boy. The girl didn't look comfortable judging by her body language. Y/n looked around the hall, there was no one to be seen apart from him and them. So the boy took in a breath and marched up to the pair.
"I said no Brandon, I'm not interested!" The girl said. The male didn't listen and instead neared his face toward the female "Oh come on~ I promise you won't regret it." Brandon purred.
"Hey! Leave her alone!" a voice snapped making the pair look at the boy who walked up to them. Brandon frowned "Mind your own business." he sneered. Y/n crossed his arms and glared at the turquoise haired boy "No, Leave her alone, she clearly isn't interested." Brandon rolled his eyes "She just needs a bit of persuasion." Y/n took a step closer "Didn't you hear me, meathead? I said leave her alone." He warned.
Brandon eventually backed off, but not before delivering an irritated scowl to the h/c haired boy. The girl collected her breath before turning to face the male. "Thank you," she spoke with an indebted smile. "Don't thank me, it was the right thing to do." Y/n returned. The girl scurried away after the conversation ended.
Y/n met up with Clark and Kiara at the front gate and they all made their way to the nearby bus stop. "Are you sure this bus goes to the hospital?" Clark averted his eyes to the boy "Yes, it goes to the hospital." he confirmed. Y/n fiddled with his finger nervousness "Okay."
The bus came a few minutes later and the teenagers went on. Y/n took a seat next to Kiara. The boy shuffled in his seat, he didn't know why exactly he was feeling nervous, but he was. The black haired girl noticed the boy's fidgeting and put a hand on his shoulder "Hey, it's okay." She assured, Y/n nodded in appreciation.
The trio reached the hospital and walked into the building up to the front desk. "Hello, we are here to visit Avery Emmons.." Y/n announced. The woman behind the front desk looked up at the teenagers "What's your relationship with the patient?" She inquired. Before any of the them could answer, a voice behind them answered for them.
"They're with me." The trio glanced back to see Alex Emmons standing behind them. The woman behind the desk stared at Alex and then at the trio "Okay then, you may proceed." Alex gestured for them to follow and the trio walked past the front desk to trail behind the blond male.
Alex stopped after a while and turned to face the teens with a smile "I have some business to attend to, so I'll leave you three to see Avery on your own, that's probably what you guys wanted anyway, her room is down the hall, room 45, I'm gonna go, see you around." He waved to the group.
Clark called out to Alex "Are you really gonna leave us alone with your sister?" he inquired. The blond smiled heartily as a last gesture before walking away "I trust Y/n." with that he walked out of sight. The brunette peered at the two others in puzzlement but they shrugged their shoulders and proceeded to move down the corridor to Avery's room.
Avery was sitting up in her bed when she heard a knock on her door "Come in." she said. Her eyes widened as she saw who walked in. "You." She uttered. The trio awkwardly shuffled at the disbelief tone Avery held.
Y/n was the first one to speak "Hello, Avery, I'm Y/n-"
"I know." Avery's tone was sharp. "Alex told me." Y/n flinched and shut his lips "We came here because I wanted to ask you a few questions about the frat party you went to" Avery ignored the boy and pointed toward Clark and Kiara "You two were the ones who helped me that night." she remarked. Y/n made a confused expression and looked at the two teenagers. "What?" Kiara looked down at her feet.
"We were at the frat party hosted by Brandon five months ago, and while we were there, we met Avery, she appeared really out of it, so we helped her get out," She whispered, Y/n scowled. "But you guys told me you never went to a frat party before?" he said. This time, Clark spoke up "We lied, okay? After Avery went missing, guilt was eating us alive, we were convinced it was our fault because we didn't walk her all the way to her house." The brunette averted his gaze in shame.
"It wasn't your fault." a soft voice regarded The trio looked at Avery, who wore a sympathetic expression "You couldn't have known that would happen." Kiara and Clark gaped at her. "Thank you." Kiara muttered, still averting her eyes. Avery nodded and shifted her eyes to Y/n "You said you wanted to know what happened at the frat party, right?" Y/n nodded slowly "Yes, if you're okay with telling me, I've heard people were getting roofied at the parties, and I wanted to ask if you've seen anything like it." Avery stayed quiet for a while.
"You're friends with Alex and these two, right?" She questioned softly. Y/n nodded quietly. "Then I trust you."
Avery let out a sigh and shifted her posture. "When I was at the party, I got offered a drink by a guy, i didn't think much of it and took it. but after a few minutes...i started becoming disoriented, my vision became obscured, and it felt like an out-of-body experience." While the girl gave the description, Y/n narrowed his eyes as it sounded eerily familiar.
"I tried to get up to the second floor to go to the bathroom, but I got ambushed, Someone shoved me inside a room...and tried to..." The girl gulped. "They tried to force themselves on me. I managed to get away by punching the guy, and while i was trying to get out of the house, I bumped into Kiara, I assume." After Avery's explanation, the trio took a moment to take in what they had just been told.
"I'm so sorry that happened to you," Y/n whispered. The blonde haired shrugged. "Do you remember anything about the guy?" Clark questioned. Avery was silent for a while and squinted her eyes in thoughtfulness "Yes, it was a dark room, but I could see that he had turquoise hair." She recalled slowly.
"I see," Clark muttered. "Thank you for your time, Avery, I hope you get better soon," Y/n said and soon the trio waved the blonde goodbye and went on their way.
When they had left, Avery stared with a blank stare at the closed door. She heard the footsteps of the teenagers walking away. 'Y/n, huh?' The girl reached into her hospital pocket and grabbed the object she had in her possession firmly. It had been one hell of a mission to steal it from the staff room.
'Tomorrow. I will do it tomorrow."

.
Y/n was once again lying in his bed. Today his mother had come home early and was already cooking dinner when he came home, they had shared a cozy dinner with the two discussing their day.
The boy was staring up at the ceiling 'This town is a mess.' his eyelids started fluttering over his eyes and he soon fell asleep.
.
.
.
Y/n slowly opened his eyes and rubbed the tiredness out as he sat up straight. The boy let out a shriek. Nova, Elio, Ezra, and Roy were all standing in his room. "We were wondering when you were waking up," Elio grumbled, leaning against the wall. Y/n stared mortified at the boys in his room "Whatthefuckwhyareyouguysinmyroom-?!" He blundered out words faster than he could form them.
Ezra, who was standing near Coco's cage and letting the rabbit sniff his hand, raised an eyebrow "We asked if you wanted us to wake you up today, and you said yes, remember?" He reminded. Y/n glared at the ash blond with a disturbed expression. "I-! Eugh..Why-!?" He tried to articulate a sentence but couldn't. "What?" Nova questioned sweetly, tilting his head, he was leaning against the window frame.
Y/n opened and reopened his mouth in bafflement. "Why are you in my room?! why are you standing in my room while I'm sleeping?! Who let you in?! And how long have you been in here?!" The boy shrieked and gripped his bedcovers, pulling the fabric up to his chin.
Roy propped his elbows on his knees as he sat cross-legged on Y/n's rug. "Don't worry, we don't mind the view, pretty boy." he teased. Y/n felt the tips of his ears heat up from embarrassment "Answer the damn questions!" he barked.
Roy hummed nonchalantly "Your mother let us in, she had to go to work so she told us to make ourselves and make sure you woke up on time, congratulations you did! The redhead jested. Roy looked toward Elio "How long have we been in here?" The black haired male adjusted his glasses and took out his phone "Around ten minutes." He replied before pocketing his phone. Y/n shocked expression turned into a glare "You've been standing in my room while I sleep for ten minutes?" he uttered out under his breath in resentment.
"We're going to take you to school; we didn't know when you were going to wake up so we waited for you," Ezra explained, petting Coco through the cage. Y/n leered at the male but didn't argue further, knowing that it would reach a dead end. So instead, he pointed to the door. "I need to change, get out before I kill you" He demanded. The boys simply stared at him unimpressed. Y/n gritted his teeth, sprung out of his bed, and opened the door. "Get out, or I'll fuck you up." he warned. The boys finally listened and walked out.
Roy ruffled his hair on the way out "You're so aggressive in the morning." Y/n narrowed his eyes at the scarlet haired "Watch it Roy, or I'll show you aggressive." Roy gave him a wink before he followed the others out and Y/n shut the door immediately. He ran a hand down his face. 'It's too early for me to deal with them.' The boy let out a groan and began putting on his uniform and packed his bag.
After he was done, he plopped down on his bed and stayed in his lying position for a few minutes before a knock at the door was heard "Hey Y/n? you done? We are waiting for you in the car." Nova said. Y/n groaned into his cushion. The ash blond male opened the door and stood by the threshold. "Y/n come on you gotta get up." The h/c haired grunted out, "No." Nova folded his arms "Y/n." The boy internally rolled his eyes "Make me," he challenged.
A few seconds of silence passed. Y/n thought that Nova had finally given up. But unexpectedly, the h/c haired was lifted up and slung over Nova's shoulder. "Gahh! Nova, let me go!" Y/n exclaimed, "I told you we need to go, you're going to be late again otherwise." The ash blond took the boy's bag in the other hand and descended the stairs out of the house with Y/n thrashing on his shoulder.
Y/n was put down in the middle seat between Elio and Nova, the ash blond put Y/n's bag next to him and got into the vehicle, closing the door. "Yup, we can go." He said to Ezra, who was in the driver seat with Roy in the passenger seat. Y/n buckled his seatbelt and folded his arms in defiance "This should be considered illegal." He moped. Elio rolled his eyes. "Don't be dramatic." he scolded.
The h/c haired frowned at the black haired male, "I just got dragged out of my own house without my permission and thrown into a car, if this was in any other context, it would very much be a crime." Y/n turned his scowl back in front of him "And I haven't even had breakfast yet," he mumbled.
Suddenly, a hand stretched out in front of him and the boy looked dumbfounded. Roy had handed him a sandwich with (favorite topping). Y/n felt his stomach rumble, He snatched the sandwich out of the redhead's grasp and begrudgingly took a bite while the other boys held in their chuckles at the boy's predictable reaction.
The group arrived at school and they all stepped out, Novaa held the door open for Y/n as he stepped. The h/c haired grasped his bag and got out of the car. He looked up at the sky noticing the gloomy clouds that were forming 'Looks like it's going to rain.'
The four boys walked Y/n to his homeroom and waved him goodbye as they went to their own classes. The h/c haired stepped into his homeroom class and took a seat. He noticed that Clark and Kiara were not yet there, which he found off, but he didn't question it further.
His next two classes went by slowly, in the second class, his prediction of the weather came true. The sky darkened and it started pouring rain, and the boy spent the lesson counting the raindrops falling onto the window. After the class ended and lunch started he was approached by Clark and Kiara.
"Hey guys, where were you during homeroom?" Y/n questioned. Clark tightened his lips "We went around asking people who we saw at the frat party on October sixteenth." Y/n arched a brow "And?" Clark squinted his eyes as if internally debating how to phrase his next words "A few people they indeed saw Avery stumble out a room on the second floor.. and that they saw Brandon come out a few minutes later with a busted lip." The brunette explained.
Y/n stopped moving. His mind paused at the familiar name. 'Brandon, turquoise hair.' His mind put the pieces together in an instant, and hot anger started boiling at the surface. He balled his fists up as his head started racing. 'That bastard, of course he would.' Y/n turned around to march toward the direction of the cafeteria. Kiara and Clark shared a concerned expression but didn't wish to stop whatever the boy was planning, so they just trailed behind him.
The doors to the cafeteria slammed open, and the hinges rattled from the force. Eyes flew to the boy who stomped in. Y/n was seething with anger as he made his way to the turquoise haired male. Kiara and Clark walked a few meters behind. Eyes all around followed the boy.
Y/n finally reached the table Brandon was sitting at, and once he saw the male's face, he saw red. He marched up to the boy and grabbed him by the collar. "Woah! What the fuck-" Brandon yelped "You fucking degenerate, Do you feel better about yourself after doing it?" Y/n hissed. Brandon shot a disturbed and shocked look to the H/c haired "What?-" Y/n shook him lightly. "The frat parties you hosted, you roofied girls attending and assaulted them." The turquoise haired stared on in indifference; his silence was the confirmation Y/n needed.
Y/n twisted his face into a venomous snarl. "And let me guess, you stopped hosting them after Avery went missing because you were scared that her disappearance would somehow lead back to you?" Brandon put up his hands "It would've ruined me!" Y/n shook the boy again, more harshly. "Because you tried to r**e her, you disgusting gargoyle!" Y/n's fists balled up, almost ripping the fabric of Brandon's shirt.
Y/n tusked and pushed the turquoise haired boy away and he glided onto the table with a huff. Y/n turned around to stomp away, but Brandon's whisper caught his ears "If your sister was still alive, I would definitely have invited her." He snickered mockingly. Y/n turned around with wide eyes, blood rushed to his ears, and he tuned out every sound around him. "What the fuck did you just say?" he mumbled. Brandon smirked, and that was Y/n's snapping point.
Y/n's fist hit Brandon's smug face. People around him gasped and reached out to rip the angry male away from Brandon, but to no avail.
Y/n kept hitting his fists against Brandon's face until his knuckles were stained with blood and his skin split open. The h/c haired couldn't recognize anything around him, he knew people were yelling at him, but he didn't register it.
Soon enough, Clark grasped Y/n's fist, and held it back, preventing him from landing more punches. "Y/n!" The h/c haired blinked away the fog before his eyes and looked at Clark, "He's had enough Y/n." The boy shifted his gaze to the turquoise haired male, he was a mess, he was bleeding, and he had clear bruises forming. Clark let go of his fist when he was sure the boy was calmed down.
Y/n looked around the cafeteria; every student was staring at him in fear. When his eyes met theirs, they quickly diverted their gaze, fearing they might be next if they stared at him for too long. Y/n looked down at his hand, which was still clenched in a fist and dripping blood onto the ground.
The boy relaxed his hand, lifting up his gaze to once more look around the cafeteria, his eyes landed on a group sitting across the cafeteria, The quartet had stopped their chatter to observe the fight, they were the only ones not looking at him in fear, they just stared at him with unreadable expressions.
Everything was quiet. Kiara approached the boy and put a hand on his shoulder. "Let's-" Y/n swatted the girl's hand and wordlessly walked out of the cafeteria.
.
.
.
Y/n was standing in an empty classroom, students had reported him to the teachers, and he had gotten after-school detention. The detention teacher wasn't there yet, and it appeared to be only him there. 'fan-fucking-tastic' The boy slung his bag off, and it hit the ground. Y/n looked around the room tiredly 'What do I do now?' The door to the classroom opened, and he assumed it was the teacher coming in to oversee him.
But instead of hearing the stern voice of a teacher, Y/n was lifted from the ground and enveloped in a hug from behind, before getting swirled around. He was put down on the ground and he turned around to see Nova and Roy with cheeky grins plastered on their faces "Hello to you to?" Y/n said uncertainly.
Nova grabbed his shoulders and neared his face to the boy, staring at him in awe, His ice blue sparkled with wonderment, "That was badass, Y/n!" The ash blond marveled. Y/n raised a brow "What you did to Brandon." Roy clarified. "I wouldn't say it's badass." The h/c haired mumbled, "It was! Everyone knows that guy is a shady scumbag." Nova said.
Y/n stared at the duo "What are you even doing here?" He questioned. Roy pulled his lips into a lopsided grin "Well..."
"We pulled a prank on a teacher and got after-school detention," Nova admitted. Roy smacked him on the back of the head. Y/n giggled "I thought so, Won't Erza and Elio get mad?" Nova waved his hand around in dismissal "Yes, but who cares." The redhead gave him a shrewd look. "Easy for you to say, come back when you get verbally abused by them." Roy countered.
Y/n narrowed his eyes in thoughtfulness. 'Maybe I should take this chance to test something.' Y/n looked at the two guys with innocence. "Well, I'm glad I get to be alone with you guys, it makes detention less boring," He muttered. 'Was that too much?' in the blink of a second, Roy and Nova turned into flustering messes, their faces lit up in pink tones as a glowing red blush coated their cheeks.
It appeared they were worse at hiding their flustered state than Ezra and Elio. Roy rested his face in his hands to try and hide the blushing. And Y/n could've sworn he saw Nova almost melt on the spot as his knees started lightly wobbling.
'I think this officially confirms my suspicions.'
.
.
An hour passed with no sign of the teacher. Y/n sighed and looked out the window at the gloomy sky, it was still pouring. Eventually, the boy decided to start packing up his things since he saw no reason to stay in detention with no teacher present.
The h/c haired gave a glance at Nova and Roy who were sitting at a table, staying uncharacteristically quiet. "Guys?" The two boys glanced toward the h/c haired "I'm going to go, will you cover for me if the teacher decides to show up?" he asked. Nova nodded but said nothing.
Y/n walked out of the classroom but nearly bumped into Kiara and Clark as they rushed forward. "Whoa, Where are guys heading away so fast?" Y/n inquired. They duo looked at him in urgency "We were going to come get you!" Kiara breathed out, Y/n arched a brow "Why?" The brunette male let out a shuddering exhale.
"Because a bunch of people are gathered in front of the school, apparently a hospital patient is on the roof of the school." He explained.
Y/n face turned blank as a fear manifested itself in him "You don't think?.." he whispered. "We don't know, but we need to hurry up there, if it's really her we need to help her!" The girl exclaimed. The trio shared a look of fear and quickly bolted toward the stairs that would lead up to the rooftop.
After sprinting up multiple stairs, the trio burst through the rooftop door and stopped. Just as they had dreaded, a girl with gold-blond hair was standing near the edge; she was still in her hospital gown, drenched from head to toe, as evident by her dripping hair and wet gown.
"Avery!" Y/n called out The girl whirled around at the sound and stood there with a distraught look. "Don't come any closer!" She warned, taking a step back. "Just calm down." Kiara tried to assure, Avery gaped at her in bewilderment before her face twisted into anger. "Calm down!? Ha! That's rich coming from you!" She taunted. Clark put up his hands "Whatever you're thinking of doing, please don't, it's not the answer." Avery scoffed and turned her back on the trio. For a few seconds, just the rhythm of raindrops falling down on the concrete roof could be heard.
"It is." Avery's answer was clipped but firm "The last few months, days even, have been hell, everything in my miserable life is going wrong. I got kidnapped, tortured, and when I finally managed to escape, I get death threats sent by the bastard, and no one believes me, they pretend as if they do, but I see how they really feel. They all think I just ran away under heavy influence." Avery ranted, lowering her gaze to stare down at the steep building.
"We believe you."
The blonde girl visibly tensed up "No, you don't...you just say that to make me feel better." she whispered. "WE DO!" Y/n exclaimed, Avery jolted at the high tone but didn't turn around to regard the statement. The h/c haired boy took a cautious step forward. "Please, Avery, I know you think that no one believes you, that the entire world is against you, but i promise it's not like that." He pleaded.
The girl reached into her hospital pocket but gave no verbal reaction. Y/n stepped closer to try coaxing her away from the edge of the roof. "Avery..." In the blink of an eye, the blonde swirled around, holding a paring knife in one hand she lunged at the h/c haired with a crazed look. Y/n let out a yelp, and the two stumbled onto the wet concrete.
Avery straddled the boy and quickly advanced the paring knife toward the boy's chest. "Just die already!" She sneered with a tone of desperation, "I am so sick of seeing your fucking face." Y/n didn't know what Avery was talking about but had no time to question her, the knife she held was approaching his vital area.
The boy grabbed the knife by the blade to prevent it from moving further and let out a cry of pain as the sharp edge sliced his palm open when the female rigorously tried to rip it out of the boy's hold. "No! Why can't you just let me have this?! It's the only way I can make them regret what they did to me!" she shrieked.
Y/n felt tears well up from the piercing pain in his palms, Adrenaline was pumping through his veins, but that didn't mean he did not feel the blade rip through his skin and tendons. Swift footsteps were heard approaching them and soon Clark and Kiara came into view and they gripped at Avery's shoulders to pry her off the male. "You idiots, get off, or you're next!" She yelled, her voice hoarse.
The blonde twisted the knife, making the boy loudly hiss at the new contact. Just as the boy felt his grip on the blade loosen, Clark finally ripped Avery away by her shoulders and threw her away, The girl landed on the wet ground a meter away, the paring knife was still in her grasp, coated in a layer of blood. her knees were scraped from the impact and the female stayed on the ground, not making a move to attempt to attack again.
Kiara hurried to Y/n's side, and the boy sat up and looked at his hands, they were covered in blood, two gaping slashes were carved into both his palms. "S-shit," Kiara stammered as she saw the damage done. Clark rushed towards Y/n's side as well, the brunette slung the boy's arm over his shoulder, and set a hand under his armpit to pull him up.
Before Clark could say anything, soft sniffles were heard. The trio moved their gaze to the blonde girl who was sitting on the wet ground. For a while, nothing was said between the teenagers. The downcast of rain was all the noise that occupied the environment; the sky seemed to become darker as if sensing the melancholy around.
Soon, Avery started muttering under her breath, her hair obscured her face but it couldn't hide the sobs that escaped her lips. "I-im sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry." Sympathy tugged at Y/n's heartstrings. He swallowed the lump in his throat before he spoke up "It's...it's okay, i know you didn't mean it." He mumbled.
"No." Avery's tone was firm. She lifted her head up to stare blankly at the trio with tear-filled eyes. She stood up abruptly and gripped her clothes as a way of self-consolation; she looked like a wounded animal trying to scurry away. "I'm sorry, I couldn't do anything to stop them." Y/n stared dumbfoundedly at the girl. "What are you?-" Avery cut him off. "They have photos of you!" She shouted before shrinking back into herself. "My kidnapper, the Runswick killer, the serial killer." She repeated, "They have photos of you, in the basement I was staying in, they have the walls plastered with photographs of you." The color drained from Y/n's face and his pupils dilated as the information sank in.
"The Runswick killer?" He uttered breathlessly, Aver nodded shakily. "You're being stalked by the Runswick killer, Y/n...i don't know what they want with you, but I'm scared they are planning to make you their next victim." She stammered and stepped closer to the edge.
Y/n didn't know how to respond, his mouth was dry, and a sickening taste built up. "Avery...I will find whoever is responsible for this, all of it, and I will make them pay." Y/n said. Avery glanced at the boy.
"You promise?" Y/n put his injured hand against his chest. "Cross my heart." The girl curled her lips up into a sad smile.
