âIâLL go to the safe house to see Emily tomorrow.
She needs to stay in hiding indefinitely.
We canât just abandon her.
â I made up my mind and relayed my plan to Harlan.
Harlan didnât protest.
Instead, he just said, âBe careful.
â
However, on the following day, just as we were about to leave the apartment, we ran into Caleb.
I was surprised.
When I was about to ask him why he was here, he walked right up to Harlan.
âHarlan, where were you yesterday? Why didnât you protect Debra?â
Calebâs eyes were full of anger, and his fists were tightly clenched.
âDo you know that Colin came so close to telling Adam who she really is? Adam wouldâve killed her!â
Before Harlan could defend himself, Caleb suddenly threw a punch at Harlanâs gut.
Harlan doubled over, but Caleb didnât stop there.
He kept swinging his fist at Harlan, blue veins standing out on the back of his hand.
He was clearly using his full strength.
Harlan tried to retreat, but Caleb quickly caught up with him and gave Harlan a suplex on the spot.
Caught off-guard, Harlan was flung to the ground violently.
It all happened so fast that I was too stunned to move.
Debraâs POV:
Fortunately, Harlan was also a seasoned fighter.
After being knocked down, he quickly rolled over and jumped back to his feet.
Without warning, he rushed at Caleb, teeth bared and fists clenched.
Not to be outdone, Caleb cracked his knuckles, ready to fight back.
Seeing that the two of them were about have an all-out fight, I quickly stepped in between them and shouted at the top of my lungs, âStop!â

I made sure to block Caleb from hitting Harlan again, protecting him behind me.
âThanks for helping me yesterday, and thanks for speaking for me just now, Caleb,â I said sincerely.
âBut please stay out of my private life.
Itâs our problem, and we can solve it ourselves.
â
Hearing this, Caleb Looked almost hurt, but he quickly returned to his usual roguish Look.
âIâm not interested in your business.
But now, I have Colin.
Youâd better see him for yourself, or I canât guarantee what will happen.
â
This was clearly a threat.
Eyes wide, I looked at him incredulously.
Why the f@ck was this guy so hell-bent on ruining my plans?
Damn it! He hadnât changed one bit!
Harlan shot Caleb a murderous glare and then whispered in my ear, âJust go with Caleb.
Leave the rest to me.
â
Gritting me teeth, I had no choice but to follow his lead.
âFine, you want me to see Colin? Then Lead the way,â I said, my voice dripping with hostile sarcasm.
