Debraâs POV:
âWhat?â I feigned confusion.
âAndrew, what are you trying to say?â
Once again, Andrew completely blew away my expectations, catching me off guard.
He explained clearly, âI want us to be truly engaged, not just a pretense.
â
âs BunnyBookery
I was shocked for a moment.
Then I gathered myself and asked, âHow could that work? Iâm already married.
I canât justâ¦â
Before I could finish, Andrew cut in with a smirk, âBut youâve just left him, right?â
Well, that was true.
I persisted, âI have three kids, and theyâre all still little, especially Abby, whoâs not even one yet.
Are you sure?â
âI donât mind,â he replied.
I went quiet.
After a pause, I asked cautiously, âAre you feeling okay?â
Maybe he was sick; he must be out of his mind.
âYes, Iâm fine.
â
Andrew was serious, unlike my joking tone.
He said sincerely, âDebra, I care about you.
If you want to be with me, those things donât matter.
Iâll treat your kids like my own.
â
I sighed quietly.
It seemed I couldnât avoid dealing with this.
âWhy?â
After calming down, I looked Andrew in the eye and asked seriously, âWhy me? Iâm just a
mixed-blood witch, and youâre the deputy Leader of the witch clan.
Shouldnât your fiancee be a pureblood witch so the clan would respect you?â
Andrew met my gaze and replied calmly, âYouâve known me for a while now, and I think you know that lineage doesnât matter to me.
As for what others think, itâs none of their business who my fiancee is.
â
His words were well-spoken and almost convincing.
But I still found it hard to believe.
So, I said, âI donât want to hear this; I want the truth.
â
âWhatâs the truth?â Andrew asked.
I thought for a moment before answering honestly, âI canât believe a high-ranking deputy leader would fall in love at first sight with an ordinary mixed-blood witch, especially one with children.
And although I canât remember our first meeting, given that I had just given birth and was being chased, it couldnât have been pleasant, right?â
