Debraâs POV:
At the mention of his wife, Adam seemed to realize something and reluctantly withdrew his hand.
When he stepped out of the elevator and walked past me, he paused and hissed into my ear, âDebra, youâd better keep your mouth shut.
â
Then without waiting for a response, he walked away.
As soon as he disappeared around the corner, Sally finally breathed a sigh of relief.
âSally, is he always like this?â I asked angrily.
Sally smiled bitterly.
âUnfortunately, yes.
But what can I do?â
She looked very sad.
She Lowered her head and started wiping her waist and butt with her hand, as though trying to erase the traumatic marks
Adam had left on them.
âI canât protect myself, and I havenât found a mate who can protect me.
My family relies on me to keep a roof over their heads.
I canât lose this job.
Thereâs nothing I can do to stop
Adam.
â
I gritted my teeth, feeling both righteous indignation and pity for her.
In a pack led by a female Alpha like Gale, s@xual harassment at the workplace shouldâve been unheard of.
But obviously, Adam didnât take
Gale seriously at all.
His betrayal was painfully obvious
This goddamn son of a bitch! If it werenât for the sake of the mission to save the innocent residents of Roz Town, I wouldâve taught him a lesson by now.
Such a scumbag deserved to die a slow, miserable death!
âIs there really nothing you can do?â I held Sallyâs hand worriedly
âAre you seriously going to keep letting him do this?â
Sally forced a smile and shrugged feebly.
âI guess Iâll have to wait until I think of something.
â
I sighed.
I could understand where Sally was coming from.
Together, we fell into a depressing silence.
Sally was right.
At present, there was nothing we could do to put Adam in his place.
I just hoped that I could finish my mission here as soon as possible and bring the bastard to justice.
But alas, it was much easier said than done.

âForget it.
Letâs not waste our breaths on that jerk.
â Sally forced a smile and quickly changed the topic.
âYou mentioned that Riley wanted to give us gifts.
What is it?â
I smiled back at her and handed over the silk scarf.
âHere you go.
â
Sally opened the package and gasped softly.
She stroked the soft silk in awe and then hurriedly checked its brand.
