No matter how much I regretted, I couldnât change the past.
The only thing I could do now was to make things up to Debra somehow.
âHoney, donât you believe me?â Janiya asked softly, resting her slender hand on my knee.
âOr do you want me to prove it?â
She smiled knowingly, her hand moving up along my thigh, slowly approaching my private parts.
With her so close to me, I could smell her sweet scent.
âJaniya, stop.
â I reached for her hand and stopped her from moving any closer.
Now, my mind was consumed by Debra.
I was no longer in the mood to flirt with any other she-wolf.
âWeâll go to Adamâs boring dinner after another Lap around town.
WeâLL talk about everything else later,â I said to Janiya coldly.
Even though my eyes were on the road, I could clearly see Janiyaâs body stiffen from the corner of my eye.
She looked unhappy, but I didnât give a damn.
âFasten your seat belt.
Iâm speeding up.
â
As soon as I said that, I slammed my foot on the gas.
A gust of wind blew in through the open window, but it couldnât blow away my guilt and restlessness.
Debraâs POV:
Obviously, Adam was turned off when Caleb suddenly showed up.
Now he was in a bad mood and had no interest in harassing me again.
He just kept silent, pulling a long face the rest of the way.

I breathed a sigh of relief, feeling Lucky that I managed to escape Adamâs clutches.
Although I hated Caleb from the bottom of my heart, I had to admit that without him, I wouldâve been doomed.
But for some reason, I felt that the way he looked at me before he left was a little strange.
When we arrived at the venue of the dinner party, the driver parked the car and hopped out to open the door for me and Adam.
The dinner was being held in a relatively luxurious hotel, and there were lots of people in attendance.
Adam Led me around as he greeted his acquaintances.
The business people at the banquet all looked plump and well-dressed, which formed a stark contrast with the desolateness of Roz Town.
I hated dealing with these people and hated their obscene eyes on me wherever I went.
But I had come here on a mission, so I had to at least pretend to be polite.
After awhile, my face started to go numb from forcing smiles at these strangers.
Unfortunately, I wasnât able to get any useful information from anyone.
Adam was very cautious.
He talked to the guests but always spoke in euphemisms.
