âCaleb, I never forgot about our agreement.
Iâm also trying my best to cure the mysterious illness that plagues your packâs newborns.
From now on, I hope youâll be a little more considerate of where Iâm coming from.
As you know, our marriage is very special, so we need to be more understanding of each other.
The moment one of us doesnât understand the other, itâll inevitably turn into a quarrel.
â
âOkay.
â Caleb agreed with me seriously.
âIâll help you deal with the aftermath of the fire.
You donât have to face it alone anymore.
Please forgive me for being so callous, Debra.
â
I could see the sincerity in his eyes.
After a long pause, I made up my mind and said, âOkay, I accept your apology.
â
People werenât perfect.

âThank you, Debra.
I promise I wonât let you down againâ¦â
Before he could finish his words, his phone suddenly rang.
Caleb glanced at the caller ID and then handed the phone to me.
âIâUL leave it to you, Debra,â he said calmly.
I took the phone and found that it was Denise calling.
Strange.
Why would she call at this hour?
Frowning, I answered it without hesitation.
On the other end of the line, Deniseâs anxious voice rang out.
âCaleb, are you coming back to the hospital today?â

Perhaps she was worried that Caleb would refuse her, so she put on the most pitiful tone and added, âIâm scared to be alone here.
Iâm so worried about Dylan.
Can you come here and help me take care of him?â
Debraâs POV:
When Denise finished speaking, I covered the mouthpiece of the phone and looked up at Caleb questioningly.
âHow do you plan on answering her?â
Clearly unaffected by Deniseâs pitiful plea, Caleb replied, âI just talked to Dylanâs doctor.
He told me that Dylanâs fine now, so even if I donât go back tonight, Dylan will be okay.
â
As Caleb spoke, I removed my hand from the mouthpiece so that Denise could hear him.
