43 Chapter 43 : Youâre not supposed to have a sex life!
âCan you wait for me here for a little bit,â Ella instructed Maria as she got off the carriage, âitâs been a little while since I left home and I just want to pass by and say hi.â
âOf course my lady take as much time as you need.â
The red head smiled and walked towards the large gate that led into the courtyard of the Morrell residence, Ellaâs heart was pounding and her anxiety was off the roof. Whatever information William had about Nathan might change everything, would she call off the wedding? Or would she suck it up and brush it off like a good little wife would.
On one hand, Ella was upset that Nathan hadnât been honest with her, but on the other hand she felt like she couldnât really blame him considering she had been playing hard to get for a really long time. Then there was the fact that Nathaniel was the only man Ella could ever picture herself marrying, with this curse that she carried around, she didnât exactly have âplenty of fish in the seaâ, she just had one fish, a little piranha named Nathaniel.
Gosh she had so much on her mind! Then there was the little episode she had experienced in her room the previous night, now that was terrifying, was it possible that it could be connected to the curse? Wow, and the only person who she could freely discuss the issue with without sounding insane was the same deceiving man she was about to marry. Well this was a load of shyte!
âElla!â Emma Morrell walked towards her daughter and gave her a hug, âwhatâs the matter? Is Nathan not giving you enough attention?â She spoke with a smirk, âwell thatâs what you get for marrying a prince.â
âMother please stop, Iâm only here to see William,â Ella replied with an eye roll, âis he here?â
âheâs out in the gardens, theyâve been spending a lot of their time in there,â Emma responded, âit must be nostalgic for them, you all loved playing in the gardens when you were little, always pulling out my best flowers.â
Ella glanced at the glass doors that led to the garden in confusion, âthey?â
.....
âOh yes, William, Bahram, Jonathan and Alexander,â Ellaâs mother responded, âtheyâre all here to watch their baby sister walk down the aisle.â
Emma clasped her hands together and cooed in happiness, the way her eyes twinkled when she mentioned âwalking down the aisleâ one would think she was the one getting married.
âIâll get you all some tea while you catch up,â Emma responded, âI canât remember the last time all my babies were all home together.â
Ella nodded at her mother and walked out the door into the gardens, they werenât as big as the gardens at the royal palace but they held so many beautiful memories for Ella, for all the Morrells actually. Playing tag, jumping in mad puddles, tea parties and so much more, wow, how time flies.
Ella paused when her four brothers came into view and her blue eyes became a tad misty, it had been so long since she had seen them all together like this. The last time they all sat down together in such a manner was years back when they were interrogating a little boy who had written Ella a love letter when she was eight, the young boy was so frightened that he soiled himself on the spot, her brothers were truly a menace to society.
âElla? Is that you?â Bahram was the first to speak when he spotted the beautiful red head standing and smiling at them.
âElla!â The twins yelled in unison.
The four men all rushed towards Ella and embraced her in a group hug.
âGood lord Ella look how youâve grown!â Bahram exclaimed excitedly, âhave I been away that long?!â
âIâm surprised that ridiculous beard youâve grown isnât proof enough of how much time has passed,â Ella responded tauntingly. She turned to the twins and chuckled, âand I see that you two are just as creepy as ever.â
âHow are we creepy?â Jonathan and Alexander responded in unison, each of them knitting their brows and cocking their heads to the side at the same time.
âIâm glad the future queen of Meria could make the time to see us lowly commoners,â William spoke tauntingly, âplease do sit down on this soft patch of grass your majesty.â
Ella rolled her eyes and settled down on the grass next to William, Alex and Jon joined in followed by Bahram who kept stroking his beard and mattering âridiculous beard?â under his breath.
âI canât believe all of you came all the way for me,â Ella spoke when all of them were comfortably sitting in a circle around the soft grass, âI donât know if I should be happy or concerned.â
The four men exchanged glances before Bahram spoke up, âElla why did you really agree to marry prince Nathaniel?â
âWhat do you mean?â Ella responded nervously, âNathan and I..â
âAnd donât bother lying, I know you donât love him,â William added on
âIs it because heâs the prince?â Jonathan asked
âNo itâs not that,â Ella responded
âIs it because he gives it to you good then?â Alexander asked Ella
Ellaâs cheeks turned the same color as her hair, gave what to her good?!
âNo! It has nothing to do with that, why would you even think that Alex!â Ella squealed in embarrassment.
âWell despite how good he gives it to you, Nathaniel cannot be trusted,â the expression on Williamâs face was serious and a little upset.
âWait!â Bahram glared at Ella, his eyes round and his brow twitching, âheâs been giving it to you?! That bastard!â
Ella ran her hands through her hair and sighed heavily, âIâd appreciate it if we please stop talking about Nathan giving me anything! The last thing I need right now is my brothers discussing my sex life!â
âYoure not supposed to have a sex life!â Bahram roared in fury, âwhen I get my hands on that prince Iâll -â
âCan we please focus on what weâre all really here for, for just a minute,â William interrupted.
The Morrell brothers simmered down and sat quietly, all except Bahram who was mattering profanities underneath his breath.
âElla,â William spoke to the blue eyed woman, the sudden change in tone made her a little anxious, she rarely saw him this serious, âI donât think Nathan is who he says he is, and there are things heâs been hiding from you.â
*
âSo you have reason to suspect something might go wrong at the wedding? Are you sure youâre not just being paranoid?â Clovis commented as he leisurely flipped a page in the book he was reading, âyour woman is very beautiful I agree but no one is going to steal her from you on your wedding day.â
âAnd besides, there will be tight security on that day,â Jeffrey added on, âgetting into the place without an invite will be close to impossible.â
âI donât want to take any chances,â Nathan responded, âdo you really trust every guest who will be in attendance? And what about the gaurds? How well do we know any of them?â
âSon, nothing is going to go wrong,â king Aldos spoke, âyouâre overthinking things.â
âDare I remind you of the necklace incident that occurred not too long ago?â Nathan pointed out, âI have reason to suspect that someone is out to get us, whatâs the harm in taking a little extra precaution.â
Nathan had been uneasy ever since his meeting with William, he couldnât get rid of the feeling that he had learned something that would put his relationship with Ella in jeopardy. And he had the nagging feeling it had something to do with prince Adam, that was the reason why Nathan had not invited the Gavarian prince to the wedding, all his lies would be put to light of he showed up.
But if William knew something about Nathan lying to Ella about Adamâs identity, there was a chance he would show up at the wedding and cause a scene, Nathan had to be ready for anything.
âAnd what do you propose we do?â King Aldos questioned his youngest son
âPlease tell us your demands so we can get back to doing our own things,â Clovis responded, he had had enough of sitting in meetings like this, it was bad enough he had to do this everyday as the governor of Meria, but now he had to do it in the comfort of his own home too, he wanted to leave and spend as much time resting alone in his room as possible.
âFather I want you to give me command over the royal guard,â Nathan suggested, âI will personally tell them what to do so none of you need to worry about the details.â
âI thought the royal guard only answers to the king,â Jeffrey responded tauntingly, âitâs your wedding not your coronation.â
âOh father just give him what he wants so we can get this over with,â Clovis pleaded.
âIf it will make you feel safer,â king Aldos responded, âthen Iâll allow it.â
âFinally!â Clovis stood up and hurriedly walked out of the room, followed closely behind by Jeffrey.
âThank you father, I do feel safer,â Nathaniel responded as he rose from his chair, ânow if youâll excuse me, I should check on Ella, she should be back from the royal jewelers by now.â
*
Nathn opened the door to Ellaâs sleeping chambers and peeped in, expecting to see his beautiful wife to be sitting in her usual spot by the window reading a book, but to his surprise the room was empty.
He walked in and inspected the room, surprised that she wasnât back yet, she had left over two hours ago. That was strange, he wondered if something had happened at the jewelers, the prince decided to go and ask if the carriage or knights who had escorted her had returned, maybe she was just somewhere around the palace.
As the prince turned to leave the room, he spotted a piece of paper on the floor near Ellaâs dresser, he suspected she must have dropped it when leaving.
Nathan picked up the note and browsed through its contests before cramping it up into a little ball, âWilliam..â the prince growled, âWhat are you trying to achieve?â
