Ethan's POV

I woke up to the sound of my phone buzzing next to me. It was 12:20 am, who could be calling me at this hour? I found my phone and answered it.

"Ethan!" I heard Ash yell and another girl, Erica I suppose, giggle.

I sat up straight and wide awake; did this girl actually get drunk?

"Ash, where are you?" I asked her.

She giggled and man, that was really cute, "I think I am in Hotel Transylvania!"

Despite wanting to, I chuckled, "Ashley, can you tell me where you are?"

"Do you know what happened?" she asked, ignoring my question, "I'll tell you what happened! Michael came and took Abby away from us. He is so mean. He just took her! Who gave him rights to just take her with him?"

Michael. That's it. I've got to call him.

"Ash, listen to me carefully," I instructed. "Don't move. Stay where you are. Don't go anywhere."

"But," she started talking again, "Why? You're being my mommy! No Erica, Ethan wouldn't make a cute mommy."

I rolled my eyes, cut the call and immediately called Michael.

"Do you know where Abby and Erica are? I asked as soon as he answered.

"Yes, I got Abby from the bar that's near that big 7-11. Erm, what's the name?" he replied, thinking.

"It's okay, I know that place. Why didn't you take them with you?" I asked with annoyance and got off my bed to wear some decent clothes.

"Because they refused to come, no matter how hard I tried," he replied, "I told them to call you."

"Okay, I'll talk to you later," I said and cut the call.

"Do you know that there are these weird bugs that fly and glow?" Ash asked with amusement.

"Yes, they are called fireflies," I said while grabbing Erica's hand tightly and dragging them along with me.

"You're so smart," she said dreamily.

"Ethan's not smart. He is-he is, dumb! Uh-huh I said it!" Erica barged in, pointing at me.

"You're such a meanie!" Ash whined. "You're just jealous, he is smart!"

"Can you guys shut up?" I yelled and started walking faster, pushing people around me to make way.

Ash put up her index finger to her lips and stared at me with wide eyes. She actually looked adorable; staring at me with green eyes that held so much depth in them. Trying to ignore her, I continued walking. I settled Erica and Ash in the car after a lot of difficulty. Erica fell asleep while mumbling something about unicorns whereas Ash, on the other hand, would not shut up.

"Your skin is so soft," she said, giggling and poking my cheek with her finger.

I chuckled at her and sighed. She started giggling again; I gave her a confused look.

"Your hand fits in mine!" she said, taking her hand in my hand which resting on my lap.

I glanced down at our hands and then looked back at the road. We just sat there, hand in hand for quite a while but drunken people can't stay quiet for long, can they?

"Ethan.." she trailed off.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Why did you just say yes?" she asked, closing her eyes.

"Because," I started to explain but quit.

"STOP THE CAR!" She yelled and I cringed.

"Why?" I asked, softly because I didn't want Erica to wake up.

"Because I want cotton candy!" she said and then started laughing again.

Her sweet laugh filled the quiet car. I looked at her and felt myself smile.

"I'll get you cotton candy tomorrow okay?" I said, glancing at her for approval.

"No!" she disagreed, pouting and shaking her head, "I want cotton candy now!"

"Hey, look at those street lights; they're amusing, aren't they?" I said, trying to distract her which worked very well.

She cooed with amusement, looking out of the window and pointing at the lights which casted shadows on her face.

After halting outside, I carried Erica out of the car in bridal-style and told Ashley to stay quiet and sit in the car. Obviously, I couldn't count on that so I locked the car before entering the house with Erica. I steadied her with my arm next to me and unlocked the door, she was definitely out cold because she didn't say a word except mumble something. I carried her again and climbed up the stairs slowly and quietly. I turned the door knob and entered the room. Man, what was my sister eating these days? I gently placed her on the bed and covered her with the comforter.

Then, I ran down the stairs trying to make the least noise possible and went to my car where Ashley was fiddling with music player and frowning.

I opened the door and said, "Come on, let's go in."

She raised her arms as if asking for a hug. I just took her arms and pulled her out, she frowned at me.

"Why don't you want to carry me the way you carried Erica?" she asked, narrowing her eyes.

"Because you can walk," I stated even though she was extremely wobbly.

She ignored me and tried to walk a few steps. Precisely, two and almost fell. I bent down and removed her heels, how can girls wear such high heels? They seem so uncomfortable plus they also make them look taller which, trust me, is a great disadvantage for short guys.

"Okay, now, shut up. Don't say a word," I told her, looking into her wide eyes.

She giggled and said, "Can I sing?"

"No," I replied, walking in the house with her.

She tried to walk up the stairs but she was too drunk to judge the distance between each step. I had to carry her bridal style too. Since she wouldn't stop giggling, I covered her mouth with my hand; muffling her giggling. She jumped into bed as soon as I put her down.

"Ethan?" she whispered with a giggle.

"Yeah?"

"Can you sit here with me?" she asked.

"I think you should sleep," I said, looking down at my watch, "It is 1:15 am."

"But I don't want to! Sing me a lullaby?" she asked sweetly.

"Ash," I said softly, "Sleep."

"But I don't want to," she repeated.

"But you have to," I said with a yawn.

She yawned as well and pulled the comforter over her head; falling asleep.

"Good night Ash," I said.

She giggled and mumbled, "Night Ethan"

Ashley's POV

Four words- Never Getting Drunk Again.

The day after the whole drinking situation, Erica and I were suffering from severe headache. We had to pretend we were fine in front of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson because they, obviously, didn't know about it (thanks to Ethan). Ethan had made me and Erica coffee and got us some aspirins. Erica's face was priceless when she found out that Ethan was the one who got us back and covered for us. Honestly, he is a very sweet person. Abby, who seemed to be really embarrassed, had called us and told us that she spent the night at Michael's. He spared her some of his mom's clothes and a guest room since his house is huge.

Tying my hair into a messy bun, I walked towards my locker to dump the unnecessary things. Opening my locker, I placed my books in the locker.

"Hey."

I turned towards my left to see Rachel smiling at me.

"Hey! How are you?" I asked politely.

"I'm good," she replied sweetly.

Rachel was actually one of those cute nerds. Her hazel eyes, slightly blocked by her thick-framed glasses, contrasted with her hair perfectly.

"Oh! Congratulations," she said with a grin.

I raised a quizzical eyebrow, "Um, thanks but for what?"

"You don't know?" she asked, shocked.

"I don't think so," I said, quiet clueless.

"You got the part! For Juliet!" she said enthusiastically.

"What? Really?" I exclaimed.

She nodded while I grinned at her.

"Who is Romeo?" I asked eagerly.

"Um, I'm sorry I don't remember but I do know that Ethan is the understudy for Romeo," she said.

"Oh, understudy?" I asked.

"Yes, you're really lucky, Ethan's a great guy, I would be extremely excited I got to work with him," she said with a small smile.

"But he's the understudy so I don't think I'm going to exactly get to work with him," I said.

"The casting list is outside the auditorium on the notice board," she said with a closed-mouth smile.

"Oh, thank you for telling me, I'll just go have a look at it," I said.

"Yep, sure, bye," she responded.

Nearing the notice board, I saw Abby and rushed towards her. Quite a few pair of eyes turned towards me and some people pointed at me; probably discussing about my role in the play.

"Hey!" I said.

"Ash! Hey! You're Juliet!" Abby exclaimed with a wide grin.

"I know," I said with excitement.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and faced to see Erica standing in front of me, "What's all the buzz about?"

"The cast for the play has been revealed," Abby stated.

"Oh," Erica said with a blank expression, "Who is playing Romeo and Juliet?"

"Ash is Juliet!" Abby said happily.

Erica's eyebrows shot up, "You can actually act?"

"Apparently, yes," I said, shrugging.

"Oh oh! Ethan's the understudy of Romeo!" Abby said.

"Wow, really?" Erica asked.

Abby nodded.

"Who's Romeo?" I asked, curios

"Michael," Abby replied immediately.

Erica's mouth dropped and then she started laughing.

"Y-you do realize you h-have to k-kiss him, right?" Erica asked between her laughs.

My eyes widened.

Oh, crap.
