“Honey, did you take the mosquito repellent?” Mom showered me with another question.

I sighed and put my toilet kit in my backpack. “Yes mom, I did.”

“And your innerwear?” she asked me this question before too.

“Yes!” I replied loudly but that didn’t stop my mom from asking me another question.

“Did you take your jacket and some pair of socks in case it is cold?” she asked.

“Mom,” I said, turning from my backpack to face her. “This is not the first time I’m leaving the house for a trip. I know what all I need.”

She rolled her eyes and walked out the door. I heard my phone buzz; looking all over my bed and room I failed to find it. My phone stopped buzzing, great.

Groaning, I walked back to the backpack and started putting all the other things inside. I carried my backpack and put it behind the door. My phone was on the bed! Apparently, it was under my backpack all along. I unlocked my phone and called Erica since she was the one who called.

“Do I have to come?” I heard Erica whine.

I sighed, when I told Erica and Abby about the camping trip, Abby agreed instantly agreed since Michael was going to be there. Erica, on the other hand, refused since Ethan was going to be there. ‘There is no way I’m going to spend 2 days and 1 night trying to enjoy with my brother around’ she had stated clearly.

“Yes, you do,” I exclaimed, raising my eyebrows even though she couldn’t see me.

“But, this is so unfair,” she mumbled.

“No, it’s not! Ethan is not that bad. In fact, he is fun to hang around with. Besides, Abby and I are going to be there,” I tried reasoning with her for the millionth time.

I heard her scoff.

“You should have seen my mom and dad’s face when Ethan and I told them we wanted to go camping,” she said with a soft laugh.

“Together,” she added after a beat.

I laughed, “How are Mr. and Mrs. Wilson? I didn't get a chance to meet them when I was over.”

“Oh, they’re just the same,” she said with a sigh.

“Got a chance to talk to Abby?” I asked while fiddling with my hair.

“Nope, I bet she is busy dressing up for Michael,” she said and I could hear a smile in her voice.

“How is Michael? I don’t really know him; do you think he’s a good guy for Abby?” I asked, concerned.

“Well, Michael and I haven’t exactly ever talked alone for long but he seems like a great guy to me,” she said.

“Oh,” I responded, nodding.

“Okay, I guess Ethan and I will be leaving soon to get you, Abby, Jared and Michael now. So, I’ll talk to you later soon, we’ll be at your place soon,” she stated. "By the way, the rented van is really big and cool."

“Oh, that's cool! I can't wait!” I exclaimed.

"I can," Erica muttered.

I rolled my eyes. "Bye!"

"Yeah, bye," she said and disconnected the call.

I walked over to my closet in search of a jumper. Like mom said, it might be cold.

After a lot of digging, I found a dark purple jumper which was actually really cute. I removed it out and threw it on my bed behind me.

I sighed and looked at myself in the medium-sized mirror on my dresser. Man, I really did need to do something with my hair, it just looked… normal. I opened my drawers and the first thing that caught my eye was a feather extension. I smiled at myself; I forced my mom so much to get these for me. They were not expensive; she just wouldn’t get them for me. After 2 whole days of begging, she removed her credit card and bought them for me.

I removed a nice bright colour extension that would fit in with my black hair. I tightened the turquoise extension in my hair with the plier.

My phone buzzed again.

Erica- Get out of your house! We’re here.

Smiling, I grabbed my backpack and walked down the stairs. Mom looked up at me when I reached towards the end of the stairs.

“Going?” she asked, folding the newspaper she was reading.

“Yep,” I said, walking towards her and wrapping my arms around her from the back.

She placed her soft hands on my arms and gave me a small squeeze before letting go. She got off her seat and kissed my forehead.

“Have fun.”

I smiled. “I will.”

Walking out the door, I saw a big bronze-coloured van parked in my driveway. Raising my eyebrows, I hopped on foot since I didn’t put on my left shoe. Ethan was already standing outside and he grinned when he saw me hopping. Rolling my eyes, I walked over to the trunk. Ethan came and helped me with the bag. Erica came out in denim blue shorts with a tank top and hugged me.

“You don’t look too happy,” I stated, trying to annoy her.

She peered at me through her eyelashes. “Give me one good reason why I should be happy.”

“We are going camping!” I exclaimed, lifting my arms up in the air.

“Exactly,” Ethan agreed. “Now, stop whining.”

“Urgh, whatever.” Erica groaned, opening the door and sitting inside which left me alone with Ethan.

I looked back at him and gosh, did I ever mention how his eyes look even more magnificent under the sunlight?

“So, are you excited?” he asked, adjusting the bags in the trunk.

“Only if there are marshmallows!” I replied with a small smile on my lips.

He grinned at me and we just stood there staring at each other for a while.

“Ethan! Stop flirting with Ash and get in the car!” Erica yelled from the van.

Ethan rolled his eyes while I laughed, I opened the sliding door and got in, Erica was sitting at the back and I joined her. She was munching on some gummy bears and I took a handful from her and started chewing on them.

Ethan got in the driver’s seat and looked behind, rolled his and asked, “Gummy bears? Early in the morning?”

“Yup,” Erica and I replied together. Ethan raised his brows and chuckled.

After he looked in front, I turned towards Erica. “See. He’s isn’t that bad.”

Erica’s expression didn’t change. “What bothers him if we eat gummy bears in the morning?”

“Nothing,” Ethan replied, looking at me through the rear view mirror.

He sighed and pulled out of my driveway. Erica and I kept cracking jokes along the way and Ethan would just give us a weird looks from the rear view mirror, earning nasty replies from Erica, then he would laugh and shake his head. This kept happening till we reached Abby’s house. Then it continued again but with worse jokes since Abby was around.

When we reached Jared’s house, Ethan seemed like the happiest person, I don’t blame him; he had to listen to our pointless conversations.

Erica leaned towards Abby and whispered, “We’re nearing Michael’s house.”

I smiled while Abby blushed. “So?”

“Nothing, I’m just saying,” Erica replied, shrugging her shoulders.

After a few awkward, silent minutes in which I heard Jared and Ethan murmuring something to each other, the van came to halt and Michael hopped in.

“Hello!” he said cheerfully, sitting next to Abby while she straightened up.

“Hey!” Abby and I replied while Erica just gave him a closed-mouth smile.

Michael was actually really cute. He had brunette hair that resembled a lot like Zac Efron from High School Musical 2 and his eyes were really unique; they were a beautiful shade of sea-greenish blue with a small pinch of golden. They were like the sea at the time of sunset; the sun leaving little streaks of yellow in the sparkling blue water.

Opening my eyelids, I looked up and saw Erica sleeping peacefully on her bag. Abby looked comfortable sleeping with her head rested on Michael’s shoulder while they both snored. Yawning and chuckling to myself, I got up and quietly made my way to the seat right in front and placed my head between Jared and Ethan.

“I’m bored,” I whispered.

“We are too,” Jared replied.

“How much more time will it take for us to reach?” I asked.

“Probably another hour,” Ethan replied.

“Another hour?” I asked.

Ethan and Jared nodded while I sighed.

“Let’s wake them up, turn up the music,” I whispered.

Jared grinned at me and turned on the music player while Ethan increased the volume. The music of Blurred Lines played and I bobbed my head to the beat along with Jared. Erica groaned loudly and got up.

Everybody get up!

Hey hey hey!

Abby yawned while Michael stretched and rubbed his eyes. I gave Jared a high five and started singing to the song. Jared, Ethan and Michael soon joined in too. Before I knew it, all of us ended up singing songs loudly with the worst possible voices imaginable.

Next task – Make sure Abby and Michael get into a relationship.

A/N: Hope you liked it :D Did you guys like the way Michael looks? I'll be revealing more about his character soon :)
