264-Donât Use Tongue
âWhere are you taking me?â I asked when following him into the deep woods. We left the cabin after he
made me grab a jacket. We have been walking under the cloudy sky for minutes now.
âYou will see,â he replied, reaching an enormous tree and then asking me to take the lead. I frowned in
confusion and when we walked out of the bushes, I saw a beautiful waterfall. The water was shining as
if there were candles floating on it. The fireflies were adding up to the beauty of the waterfall. He had
laid down a sheet near the water with a basket hanging down from the tree.
He grabbed the basket and placed it on the sheet, helping me
sit down at the same time.
âWow! when did you do that?â It seriously impressed me how he managed to prepare all this in a few
hours.
âWell, when you are determined to win someoneâs heart, you will go above and beyond to make
anything happen. Anyway, I was walking around and looking for a beautiful place, more beautiful than
you. But it was hard to find anything that matches your beauty. I settled into the waterfall, but your
reaction tells me | made the right decision.â He smiled when grabbing a bottle of wine and popping it
open.
âAre you planning on getting me drunk?â I laughed awkwardly, watching him fill the glass only a little.
âI donât believe in love confessions out of aggression, frustration, intoxication, or heat of the moment. I
believe in taking time, thinking through everything, and then making a decision. Thatâs when you are
less inclined to make mistakes,â he seriously shocked me with his input on getting into a relationship.
âWell, I must say, you are impressive tonight.â | accepted the glass and took a sip only when he did.
âSo, tell me about yourself.â Now that we were alone and talking for the first time very casually, I aimed
to get to know him better.
âI am Zander. I lived with my foster parents for some time until my uncle came back into our lives. My
twin and I had to move back in with our foster family once my uncle ditched us again. I am fond of all
sorts of mischievous acts. I actually donât take things too seriously. Life is too short to be acting all
serious and dramatic.â He took a break to sip his wine, and thatâs when I slid in another question.
âDid you have a girlfriend before? Or any past relationship?â || asked, and instantly backed down. âItâs
okay if you donât want to share,â I added, but he shook his head at me to let me know he didnât mind
answering any questions.
âYou can even ask for my dick size, and I wonât mind.â He talked about his dick so casually that I almost
gagged at the wine. âI havenât dated anyone before. I am already a hard-to-like person,
so I relied on finding my true mate and loving her only. Donât get me wrong, I am not a virgin. I have
fucked all of Christinaâs previous friends, just so you know.â the way he would say the most shocking
things in a most casual way would leave me
surprised.
âSo you are into friends, noted?â I bobbed my head playfully.
âBut you donât have any friends, so you shouldnât worry.â I bet he didnât mean it that way, but I couldnât
help to let out a laugh and then pinch his arm.
âYou are mean,â I complained, pinching his arm again.
âOuch! And so you are, missy!â He rubbed his hand over his arm before straightening his back and
smiling to himself.
âWhat now?â | rolled my eyes, imagining him asking me something stupid.
âI know about your past, so I wonât waste my time asking you that question. I will just jump straight to
the point.â He cleared his throat, adjusting his body in front of me. âCan I kiss you?â The smile on his
lips faded when asking for my permission.
I wish he hadnât, though. We were just beginning to know each other, and there he slid into that
question.
âItâs okay if you donât want to. But if you are afraid you will
disappoint me, donât be. I have experienced worse kisses before.â That statement struck my ego. I
raised my eyebrows at him for even thinking I would be bad at kissing.
âWho told you I am bad at kissing? If I was, none of my mates would be sticking with me.â I frowned
playfully.
âOne did leave, didnât he? Wasnât this his excuse in the first place?â Zander was trying to joke about it,
but the moment he noticed the stern look on my face, he understood he took it too far.
âWell, I am not sure how others tolerate you and your jokes, but if want to win me over, you need to
watch your language and actions.â I was being extra, but I had a reason. Nobody is allowed to use
someoneâs trauma to joke about it.
He knew how badly Maynardâs breakup affected me, yet he decided to joke about it.
âHey! I am sorry. He instantly jumped on his knees and held his ears to apologize to me. I never
expected him to apologize so quickly.
âApology accepted.â Since it wasnât too serious and he admitted to making a mistake, I decided to not
hold a grudge against him.
âNow! Can I?â It was funny how he thought I would be turned on after our argument.
âNo!â I shook my head.
âPlease! I just want to see what is wrong. Maybe we need to get more affectionate in order for me to be
able to mark you. Just one kiss is all I am asking for. Itâs not like I want you to carry my baby.â He rolled
his eyes when begging me to let him kiss me.
âJust one, donât use your tongue,â I warned him playfully but felt a little heat in my cheeks. Getting
kissed left and right was not my type of thing. However, I was more open to giving my mates a chance
now.
He brought his face closer to mine, and just before he was about to kiss me, we heard a growl in the
bushes. It didnât seem to scare him off, but I felt weird. The growl didnât sound like some normal wolf; it
was more like the growl of a monster.
