Chapter 20: Chapter 20~ Calling Out the Alph-hole

Alexis’ POV~

Cody all acting sanctimonious and shit ‘of course we don’t have a glitch.. this ain’t the matrix’ Asshole! He could have a glitch! He could’ve moved..ducked the shoe…but, nope! It hit him! He could’ve caught it… nope! See? Glitches! Mine are just more obvious!

Blake pulls me back into his lap… “Don’t worry, sweetheart! Next time you get excited, just grab my hand and I will glitch with you!” She giggles and says “Okay..but if we land in the linen closet you don’t get to whine about being cramped!” We all laugh.

Cody clears his throat “Blake… Alph-hole Michael requests an audience in the morning at nine?” I shrug.. looking at Blake.. “Let him know we will receive him at precisely 9 am…and if he dares disrespect your Luna.. he won’t be leaving!” I laugh at what he said.. then asked “Can I change him into a weasel? A portly little weasel? He’d be soo cute! And, I betcha his Luna would like him then!” We laugh and he tells me no.. but I can freeze him!

We had our pizza, and retired to our bedroom. After making love with my handsome mate for hours, I finally fall asleep in his arms.

My eyes open to a beautiful meadow.. standing in the center is Selene.. she signals for me to walk with her. Taking my hand, she smiles “I am sorry, my child. The decisions made on your behalf were never meant to cause you pain. It is my fault, mostly. You are the first white wolf in three generations and I knew if we didn’t protect you, this would end my wolves. Arielle and Athos are fated souls. And every time they are reborn, they find each other. My white wolves have always been hunted down and killed before they can fulfill their destiny. When you complete your mating this time, many things are going to change.. the people who want to stop you, will know where you are. Your father will know you exist…more importantly, your brother will know..and I am afraid he has not grown into a good man! Many people are suffering greatly at his command. Athos will come into his full power…and Arielle will receive her power. Unlike your witch’s powers, this power will prepare you for the battle to come. Hecate came to me..before you were conceived to suggest Arielle be born from a witch. It was our one guarantee of keeping her hidden until Athos could find her. In fourteen days.. on the full moon, after your Luna ceremony, Athos and Arielle will complete your mating… your entire pack will feel the change…you will become near immortal.. the only way you will die this time, is to lose your head.. or your hearts. There are reasons for all of this.. that will reveal themselves., as time requires.”

I ask “Who is my father? And why did I have to lose my mother?”

Selene smiles sadly “It was part of the agreement Hecate made with me, before she approached your mother. Your mother sacrificed so much to have you in her life. She loves you so very much! Your father will find you. He is a good man! His greatest regret is having to leave your mother “

Blake was calling my name, and my eyes open. Fuck! That sneaky Goddess! Again.. saying so much.. without telling me anything! Ugghhhh! Blake chuckles “Bad dream?” I shake my head…”just frustrating!”

We get to the office..and I’m still feeling a little distracted! Blake asks if I want to talk about it.. And… Do I? I link I’m processing! Selene visited me.. and I’m fucking frustrated! 🐺 I can help with the frustrated part… and he wiggles his eyebrows..which had me giggling! He grins and says “There’s my baby!” And my day just got a whole lot better!

Alpha Michael arrived 45 minutes late. Blake was fuming…and I’m thinking this dude leaving here a fucking toad today.. but he’s still saying no! We’ll see…. He gets seated… and Blake just stares at him for about 5 minutes straight. Then he asks “You can’t afford a watch, I take it!? You have already wasted nearly an hour of my day! You are lucky I am still meeting with you..so, before we get started, let me warn you… The reason for this meeting better be fucking important, because if you are planning on wasting any more of my valuable time..we will have a problem!”

He shifted nervously “I am worried for my people, Alpha Blake. My warriors are well trained and good fighters.. but we aren’t enough to stand against 150 rogues… even Ian struggled and he has half again as many warriors as I do. You are a half hour away from us.. if we are attacked, I can’t be certain you would make it there in time for aid”

Blake nods asking “So what are you requesting? You know I left 20 of my best with Ian. My concern, here, Michael, is the fact you did not rally your troops when the call went out. You knew Ian was down… possibly dying.. yet you did not stir yourself to respond. My allies need never fear I will respond! I take my obligations very seriously! Why did you not rush to Ian’s aid?”

Huffing, he sneers “Caroline didn’t even call until the fight was under control. When she told me Ian was critical, I told her to call me, if any further problems arose.” And Blake roared “That is bullshit! And you know it is! You could have been on site an hour and a half before I was able to get there…because of that… my trackers are struggling to find a scent trail… struggling to locate a trace of any rogues! So.. here’s the deal. If and when the call comes in of your impending attack.. I will send a team. Until then, you get nothing.”

Jumping to his feet, Michael snarls “ All I am asking for is, at least the same amount of warriors, as backup that you gave Ian! You are my ally! It is required!”

Then, it dawns on me! I know what this is! I said “Funny! You weren’t worried about an attack.. you didn’t request our aid… and then, out of the blue.. you request audience to requisition our troops. Knowing we left a squad with Ian. If I were a person of strategic mind… I would almost feel, as if, you are attempting to deplete our military presence in our own pack! Blake… I believe we should send some of our troops.. to patrol between his borders and ours.. that should be okay.. right, Michael? If our trackers, hunters and warriors scouted around your borders… just to Make Sure there are no rogue encampments close by?”

Cody cracked up.. “Holy fuck! Dude! She just called you out! Blake?” And he nodded… Cody walked out the door and Michael sputtered “Where is he going? What’s he doing? I withdraw my request. I don’t need strange warriors around my borders..” Blake laughs “Relax! It’s just to keep you and your pack safe! It’s all good!”

And we all knew we were right!
