Chapter 8: Chapter 8~ The wolf in my soul

Blake’s POV~

I sit straight up in bed! What the fuck was that??? I link Cody and Damon to grab us breakfast and meet me in the office. ASAP! I am still processing what happened. Was it a dream? Was it really the Moon Goddess? I am confused! So very confused.

The guys walk in and I barely take a breath “Sit…sit! Listen! I had a dream last night… I think it was a dream. It might have been a vision. I actually think I traveled in my sleep! The Moon Goddess came to me as I was sleeping! She told me my mate needed me. But she’s afraid! Afraid I will leave..like her mother’s mate did… but the Goddess told me he didn’t have a choice. He was forced to leave her…even though he didn’t want to! But, she doesn’t know that.”

Cody pipes up “So, who is your mate? And have you decided you want a mate? Maybe that’s why the Goddess spoke to you? Like a test?” I shake my head “No…she knew about my hesitation and she knew about Athos! She didn’t tell me who my mate is…but she said I will have to work for it! I want to go see Alexis and Helena and apologize in person! I feel bad that I was angry at Cynthia and took it out on them!” Damon busted out laughing “and not because you were a bunny?” I laughed. I actually laughed! “I would have found humor in it…if I wasn’t being a dick” Cody chuckled “True!” I stand laughing “Fuck off!”

We walked into the apothecary to see Cynthia yelling at Alexis.. I linked the guys to hang back…I wanted to see how far this crazy bitch was going to take it.. Cynthia screamed “Your Auntttt sold me those potions..promising they would do what I needed them to! They didn’t! Now, you get your ass back there and tell her I demand she fulfill the obligation her product was promised to do, or I will report her to the Alpha that she is guilty of false advertising and scamming people out of hard earned money! NOW!” Alexis simply smiled…. “My aunt never promised you that a love potion would ever make anyone fall in love with you! Did you even read the disclaimer on the label? Her obligation to you ended when you decided you could outsmart the Moon Goddess and try to steal another person’s mate! And, by all fucking means! Do let the Alpha know what you think we are guilty of! Do you know nothing about magic? Even if you paid a witch to put a spell on him to make him feel a mate bond….it would Still be a fake bond! It could not withstand the test of time! And once he met his true mate…the Only thing he would feel for you would be disgust! As far as hard earned money, you useless waste of skin…I doubt you have earned a dime on your own! Lastly! If you ever scream at my aunt the way you’ve done me…I will bounce your head off every surface in this shop! Am I clear!?” Alexis looked over and grinned “Oh hey bunny! Hi Damon! Sup Cody?” And I couldn’t stop the smile!

Cynthia spun and said “Blake! I’m just trying to get my money back! And this halfbreed won’t let me speak to the witch who owns this shop!” And before I could respond. Alexis grabbed her by the back of her head…and bounced ger face off the display case. Well…she told her she would. Reckon she wasn’t kidding! Cody said “I am so sorry, Lexi!” She looked confused “why are you sorry?” He grinned and said “apparently, my sister was raised by…..wolves?” She laughed…really laughed…and replied “ Oh no! Allow me to apologize for the accident of your birth…to be cursed with a shrew for a sister!” Damon roared “Ohhh…good word! Cynthia the shrew! I like it!”

I stepped up beside Alexis and asked if her aunt was in the back..she nodded..and I said “I have to apologize to you! I was out of line and disrespectful! My only defense being I was angry at someone else and I took it out on you and apparently, my bunny ass was acting like a dick!” She giggled and whispered “but you do make a cute bunny!” And I laughed “Yeah…Damon took a picture!” Her eyes got huge “OH No way! Show me! Please show me!”

Damon stood beside her, as I went to find Helena.. I found her behind her desk, in her little office. I spoke quietly “Helena! Please say you forgive me. I was an ass and took my anger out on you when I was truly angry with Cynthia!” She smiled shaking her head “I was upset… but not today. You are forgiven!” I hugged her and promised to do better. I heard another crash and bang from thr front of the store and rushed out to see Cynthia trying to stand up…with Alexis standing beside Cody telling her “Try to slap my friend again! If you don’t want to be called a slut…don’t act like one! You know what they say…if the STD fits…wear it!”

Trying not to laugh.. I asked what happened….and Cynthia tried speaking and I glared at her..said “Cody?” He grinned…shrugging “I called her a slut because she was pawing Damon and she tried to slap me…but Alexis grabbed her hand and bounced her head off that cabinet. Which was pretty cool!”

This is turning into a day! I told Cynthia to get her ass back to the pack house and stay put! I noticed the portrait of Athos and walked over to it. It was uncanny! It looks just like him! Down to the last detail! “Helena! Where did you get this painting?” Her entire face lit up in a beautiful smile “It was given to me by an incredible artist who doesn’t have enough faith in their talent to believe others can love it!” I laughed and said “How do you always give so much information without really answering the question?” Alexis laughed and remarked “Funny! I was telling her that same thing last night! I painted it…my first night here” I gasped! I turned to her and whispered “That is Athos! My wolf!”

She was shocked…she looked at me, then back at the portrait…and back at me “How? When I asked Arielle about it, all she told me is it’s the wolf that lives in her soul…and I was like..okie dokie.. she’s strange anyway..so who am I to judge?”

It just amazed me.. Athos and I were running that same riverbank that night. The waterfall is my favorite spot. There’s no way she saw me!
