I woke up and didn't saw Steven by my side. I moved up from the bed. I heard sounds of water falling from shower from the bathroom. It's Steven, who's taking a bath. It's 6:30pm!
I knocked at the bathroom's door and called his name softly.
The shower stopped and his deep husky voice replied, "yes?"
"Are you going somewhere?"
"Yeah, to shoot"
"Okay"
He started the shower again. Who goes to shoot this early in this cold weather? I went downstairs. I looked at the kitchen, standing at the last stair. Cooking? I never even thought about it. Every morning, mom made breakfast for us. How can I do all this by myself? Huh.
I opened the YouTube and searched how to make Tea and Omelette. It looks easy so I tried.
Smooth like Butter, like a mmm mm cover. I'm singing while making breakfast for us. Ouh! It's not Us still. Okay, for Steven and me. And done!
It's good. I take a sip of the tea. Hmm, I can be a good cook.
I saw Steven coming down, wearing hoodie and a trousers.
"Come, let's have a breakfast", I say pointing at the plates which I kept on the table. He rubbed the back of his neck. "Um.. Elle, sorry but I don't do breakfast this early", he said.
"But Steven, I made something for the first time, please?"
"Sorry Elle, but I have no appetite now.."
I freezed there. "Okay, I'll come early tonight. Make something good you can. We'll have our dinner together. Okay?", He said making me smile.
"Okayyy", I said. The doorbell ranged. Who it might be this early? I opened the door and saw someone unexpected. It's Anna. Standing right infront of me with her bitchy face.
"Oh my gosh! The first person I saw is you? My day is gonna be bad today. Bitch!", She said with a disgusted tone and came in. I just rolled my eyes. I just can't with this girl.
"Babyyyy", she goes towards Steven and kissed his cheek, while he smiled awkwardly. I carried the plates to the kitchen. Steven won't eat so I'll eat these. And I came to kitchen because I don't wanna disturb them. Actually I want!
I was eating while Steven came to the kitchen.
"Why are you eating here?"
"Just because you guys were at the dinning room"
"God, Elle.. eat in dinning room"
I ignored him. He sighed and said, "okay bye, I'll be back soon today. Prepare something tasty". He left.
I also got ready for office and went.
I entered the office while everyone's giving me a warm smile. I can't but smiling at them back. Jimmy approached me. "Congrats for your marriage life Elle. I'm so happy for you", he congratulated.
"Oh shut up Jimmy, you didn't came. So bad!"
"My mom was sick, so I can't come. I'm sorry"
"Oh no, actually I'm sorry..and thanks!"
He smiled at me. Everyone at the office congratulated me. Kate embraced me so tightly.
"I love you babe", she said in a cheery tone.
"Me too", I replied, hugging her back.
I was doing work on laptop. Boss's secretary Kim came and requested, "Elle, I have something urgent work..Can you please Xerox this files and give sir his today's schedule?"
I nodded and did the work.
"Boss, here's your Xerox and your today's schedule", I said as I put this things on his table.
"So, I'll be going", I said and turned back.
"Wait Elle", he said, causing me to stop stepping forward.
"Yes?"
"Congrats for your marriage life"
"Thanks but you didn't came"
"How could I came on the person's wedding whom I like?"
I said nothing.
"Are you happy?", He asked.
"It's just the start. So I don't know"
"Can we-"
"Sorry sir, I've so many things to set up. I'll be going then", I said and ran.
At the lunch, I said Kate the all thing.
"This is so irritating that the boss likes you", she said and curled her lips.
"I know right"
"So you're cooking something tasty for Steven?"
"Yeah"
"Like for real? Do you even know cooking?"
"No but I tried at morning by watching Youtube. It was good"
"Okay, let's see! And good luck", she said and patted my shoulder.
It's 8pm now. I reached some. I was chilling while searching some easy dishes to cook. Um..I found something. Chicken in Lemmon Butter. Okay I'll do it.
I turned on my Spotify playlist. I started to cook while dancing and singing. I believe the work we do by our heart, is the best work in the whole word. But, while cutting the tomatoes I cut my finger. It's okay.
While frying the meat with oil, I felt a drop of oil on my hand. It's burning, but it's okay.
And yes! I did it. Chicken in Lemmon Butter.
It's 9:30 p.m. I'm waiting for Steven. I heard the doorbell. I ran to open the door. Got to see Steven and Anna in the back.
"Okay baby bye!", She said and left. The fuck? She came here for this? Huh. I threw Steven a warm smile. While he just ignored.
"Um.. go and fresh up. And comes downstairs", I said. He nodded and went?.
I decorated the item so well. He came downstairs and looked at me in a confused way.
"Come and have the dinner. I made something really delicious", I said.
"Elle..I-im sorry. I already had the dinner. I forget that..", he said this without even thinking. It breaks my heart into pieces. I literally cooked it with all the love and he? He forget? What the fuck.
"Well.. Steven.. it's okay..I.. I'll eat it..", I said with my shaky voice.
"Okay fine", he said and went to his room. He doesn't care. I started to eat with the teary eyes. I can taste my tears with the food also. How can he do this so simply?
I went to the room of his.
"Oh Elle.."
I looked at him.
"Good night", he said and covered the blankets over him. He says so easily everything.
I laid beside him. Tears kept rolling down on my cheeks and I'm rubbing my eyes again and again. Why? Why I care? It's okay Elle if he didn't ate. But still, how can he? So heartless.
