Chapter 21: Prankster's Payback

KARA

My ears perked up as I heard Charlie scream, “It’s almost time to go!”

I grinned, jumping off of my bed with Jess running at my heels.

Time flew by last night after I watched Liam and Charlie try to look like sumo wrestlers by stuffing their shirts with large pillows. It was quite an amusing night, so I didn’t mind.

It also distracted me from thinking about my “date” with Jason.

“You know we’re only going to be there for a day and a half, right?” Liam asked Jess, who was dragging two duffel bags outside.

She gave him a sarcastic smile and walked past him. Liam shook his head, clearly amused by her.

Jess was so excited that she decided to come over at eight in the morning. We weren’t planning to leave until noon.

“Jess! Kara!” I heard Layla’s voice call out. “Oh, Liam.” She playfully frowned when she saw her older brother. He rolled his eyes in return and went back into the house, leaving us alone.

“This is going to be so much fun!” Layla grinned and threw her stuff into Liam’s car.

“It’s going to be very interesting.” Jess smirked at me knowingly.

“Anyway.” My blue-eyed friend now gave us a mischievous smile. “I have an idea.”

My eyebrow cocked as I waited for her to continue.

Layla always came up with the best pranks. She quickly dug into her backpack and pulled out a colorful plastic bag, handing it to me.

I inspected it. “Water balloons?” Layla gave me a wicked grin.

“We’re going to throw them at the boys,” she explained, stuffing the bag back into her backpack while scanning the area around us, making sure the guys couldn’t see.

Jess crossed her arms. “No way. That’s just going to start a prank war.”

I was with Jess on this one. Charlie and Liam were masters at pranking, and not to mention they had Quintin, Jason, and Milo all on their side.

It’s five ruthless boys against three innocent girls.

“How are my girls?” Charlie asked from the front door behind us. Layla’s eyes lit up like a starry night, and she ran—~and I mean ran~—to him.

“Charles!” Layla screamed and tackled him in a bear hug. I shook my head at my two starstruck friends.

“Nice to see you too.” Charlie laughed and removed her from him. My attention turned to the car full of three boys that pulled up into our driveway.

“Hey.” Quintin gave us a friendly smile as he got out of the car.

“Hey, Q,” Jess and I replied. “Excited?” Jess added. I stood by, listening to their conversation, but my body went rigid when I felt ice-cold water hit my back, trickling down my spine.

I whipped around to see Jason grinning, a water gun in his hand.

I was momentarily stunned. Jason looked good.

The idiot was wearing a white T-shirt that clung to his biceps and dark jeans.

Dirty blond waves almost appeared like a halo under the sunshine. And his blue eyes, ~ugh~, they were extremely crystal clear thanks to the sun.

“You—” A ray of freezing water shot at my face. The cold liquid splashed across my nose and cheeks; it was ~almost~ refreshing.

I rapidly blinked with a parted jaw, dumbfounded. Jason began to laugh wildly.

“Kade,” I snapped, immediately bolting toward him.

He was still doubled over, laughing his ass off. I caught him off guard by shoving him roughly. Jason fell back onto his butt, shocked by the sudden movement.

I took the moment to snatch the gun away from him. I smirked, standing over him, and pointed the gun at his head.

“How?” Jason breathed, clearly surprised that he went from laughing his ass off to ~literally~ on his ass. Both of his muscular arms were supporting him as he leaned up.

I grinned even wider, slowly moving my aim to the zipper of his pants. Jason’s eyes widened in realization. He rushed to get up, but I kicked him back down, squirting water all over his face.

In the process, he managed to grab the backs of my knees and pull them forward, making me collapse on top of him.

“Ow!” I yelped from the impact. Jason now had one arm around my waist, keeping me pressed against him. The other held the water gun over my head. “Stop! I’m sorry!” I hastily surrendered.

I was having a good hair day, so help me God—if this boy ruined that, I ~would~ choke him.

“Say ‘Jason Kade is the hottest boy I know, and has an amazing body.’” The idiot smirked, holding the water gun closer to my head.

My body suddenly became very warm, aware of our closeness.

My breasts pressed up against his chest, legs straddling his thighs, and his muscular arm around my waist, holding me to him—all sent a rush of lust through me.

“Never.” I stubbornly bit my lip, having too much pride.

Jason’s voice lowered with a smirk. “So be it.” I gasped when I felt freezing water slip down the back of my shirt against my bare skin. My back involuntarily arched forward, pushing my breasts further against him.

“Fine!” I whined. The water was actually helping take away from my heat. “Jason Kade is the hottest boy I know, and he has an amazing body.” The words fumbled out, and I shoved him away.

“Why is it that I always see you two in this similar position?” My head snapped to the right, and I saw Charlie with a disturbed expression.

He grimaced after a second of staring at the scene in front of him.

I couldn’t reply without making the situation sound worse, so I grimaced as well and stood back up, brushing myself off. “Are we leaving yet?” I asked, quickly changing the subject.

“That’s what I came here to tell you, but I guess you two are already making yourselves comfortable.” Charlie narrowed his eyes at the both of us before walking toward his car.

I followed Charlie, sulking in the process. My brother stopped at Liam, discussing who was going in what car. We were taking two cars, but I knew I was going in Charlie’s since he’s my brother.

“I’m obviously taking Layla and Milo, so I can take Jess too,” Liam confirmed to Charlie. My brother nodded, satisfied with the arrangements.

My eyes landed on Jason. I had to be in the same car with him for two hours? Charlie smiled and nodded, confirming my distaste.

That meant if we sat in the back, we’d be squished together due to the bags taking up a seat. We couldn’t fit them all in the back of Charlie’s Jeep since he doesn’t have a trunk.

“I get the front seat,” I mumbled, walking to his Jeep. Just as I was about to open the door, I was shoved softly.

“Sorry. I called it before you,” Q gave me an apologetic smile and then jumped into the passenger’s seat, leaving me baffled.

“Looks like it’s you and me in the back, kitten,” Jason purred from behind me. I could feel his front pressed against my back, so I elbowed him before getting into the back seat.

Jason jumped in next to me, pressing closely. “Charlie, I think there’s something wrong with your sister.”

“Try living with her,” my brother mumbled back, revving out of our driveway. I smacked the back of his head.

Jason paused for a moment. “The things we’d do.” The whispered words sent heat to my core, causing me to imagine my own fantasies.

“I’d make you sleep on the couch.” The trees whirled past us as I stared out the window, avoiding the ache between my legs.

Jason let out a low chuckle. “Our first fight?” I rolled my eyes at him, but couldn’t help but smile.

Jason felt the need to take it further, dropping his hands to my thigh. I peeked at him from the corner of my eye, then at the two guys sitting in the front.

They were absorbed in whatever conversation they were having.

My backpack sat in my lap, covering the console area, meaning they wouldn’t even be able to see anything besides our shoulders and up.

My eyebrow cocked, waiting to see what he would do next. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited.

Jason lightly trailed his finger up my thigh, toward my heated core. My breathing hitched.

Craving friction, my thighs rubbed. The trail of fire went cold. I snapped my eyes to Jason, who gave me a smirk. The asshole pulled his hand away.

He was ~teasing~ me.

Biting my lip, I looked out the front windshield, pretending to be absorbed by the scenery. My right hand landed on his already hardened member.

Jason jumped in surprise. I could see him staring at me from the corner of my eye. I tried not to gasp when he pressed his cock further against my palm.

The lust returned and my clit throbbed, and I wished we were alone. Jason’s large hand wrapped around mine, and he moved them up and down against his outline, bringing pleasure with it.

I peeked at him, noticing his flushed cheeks. His blue eyes connected with mine, pupils dilating.

My lips formed into a smirk and I pulled my hand away, letting him know I ~also~ was only teasing him.

Jason huffed in annoyance, staring out the window. My lips pursed as I tried to contain my amused laughter.

Thirty minutes flew by. We were finally away from the city and on the rural highway. Endless fields of corn surrounded either side, making my stomach churn uneasily. It reminded me of a horror movie.

My body shuddered at the thought. The car let out a loud hiss, and it bumped, causing us to hold on to our seats.

“Shit,” my brother cursed, trying to stop the car without hurting anyone. It screeched to a halt, and I let out the breath that I had been holding.

“What the hell just happened?” I breathed out, and we all jumped out of the car.

“No! You’ve got to be kidding me!” Charlie groaned in disbelief. I stared with wide eyes at the back tire that had a giant gash in it.

“Who the hell leaves a piece of metal in the middle of nowhere?!” he shouted at no one in particular. Charlie leaned back against his Jeep, stressfully running a hand through his dark hair.

“More like who drives over it,” Quintin snickered.

“Shut up,” Charlie hissed back.

“You have a spare, right?” I asked, standing back from the scene.

My brother shook his head, smiling sheepishly. “I popped my tire on the way home from college. It was my only spare.”

Panic swelled in my chest. “We’re in the middle of nowhere. I refuse to die this way.” My hands made their way to the top of my head, and I began to pace back and forth.

“Shut up, we’re not going to die,” Charlie rolled his eyes at my dramatics.

“Never say never,” I retorted.

“Never,” I heard Jason whisper. Quintin bit back his laughter while I sent him a glare. I leaned back onto the car next to Charlie.

Liam was about fifteen minutes ahead of us due to us having to pull over because someone—~Jason~—had to pee.

“Damn. I have no signal,” Quintin groaned, and that’s when my heart dropped.

We were stuck in the middle of nowhere.
