Chapter 1064
Comelia said, âLetâs cut the chitâchat. The meeting is about to startâ
In a panic, Ben blurted out, âOh shoot, my meeting materials are not ready yet. Cornelio, President Hartley definitely wonât be mad at you, could you cover for me in the meetingâ¦â
Before Ben could finish, Comelia flatly refused, âNo way!â
As Ben scrambled to prepare his matenals, he complained to Cornelia, âYouâre so nice to Yolanda, why canât you be a little nicer to me? Weâve been working together for so long, thereâs gotta be some feelings there, right?â
Comelia chuckled, âFeelings? Between you and me?â
Ben insisted, âOf course! We actually get along really well
Suddenly, Cornelia exclaimed, âPresident Hartley, when did you get here?â
âPresident Hartley, ah, no, Cornelia and I donât have a personal relationship.â Ben began to apologize before even seeing President Hartley. But when he looked up, he found Marcus wasnât there.
Realizing heâd been fooled, he glared at Cornelia, âComelia, do you believe that I could punch you?â
Comelia replied. âI donât believe you!â
Ben retorted, âYou donât believe me? I tell you, even with President Hartley protecting you, I could still lay a punch on you. I could hit you so hard you wouldnât even recognize yourself.â
Cornelia said again, âPresident Hartley, youâre really here this time!â
Ben said, âIf Iâm fooled again, Iâm not Ben anymore.â
âWhat would you prefer to be called then if not Ben? And who do you want to punch? Marcusâ deep voice echoed from the office entrance.
Ben didnât dare to look back, âPresident Hartleyâ
Usually, Marcus would just call them, why would he personally come to their office today? And he heard him âpunching Cornelia.
Ben felt his career might be over. Or maybe, his life was coming to an end.
Cornelia asked, âPresident Hartley, what brings you here?â
Marcusâ gaze shifted to Cornelia, instantly becoming much softer, âCan you arrange for Yolanda to personally guide Tahlia, to ensure she quickly becomes familiar
with the work?â
Cornelia felt a bit uneasy, but as Marcusâ assistant, she didnât ask further, just replied, âYes, Iâll arrange it right away.â
After Cornelia left, Ben cautiously looked at Marcus, âPresident Hartley, I was just joking with Cornelia, I didnât really punch her
Marcus replied, âDo I look like I canât tell youâre joking?â
Ben was at a loss for words. If Marcus knew he was joking, why did he still look at him with such intimidating eyes?

Marcus was silent, just staring at Ben, giving him the chills.
